@Gary1981,
U meant strict, not straight is it?! *grins*

@gunnerboy,
I read about the Amex Membership Rewards and know it's a separate program from MBB TreatPoints - how do U enrol into it and is it worth enrolling in? How come I never received any communication material asking me to enrol into it?

@tishaban,
It's just additional benefits and I'm not even sure what those benefits are. Yeah I read that too but that was before I applied for my Amex CC.

The Amex CC welcome pack didn't mention anything about having to re-enrol; I believe the discount benefits are still applicable *shrugs* Ain't gonna be too bothered; still trying to find ways of filling up my quota [perhaps I should stand by the cashier @ Machines *grins*]

@gunnerboy,
Yeah those are the general benefits; also I heard the 10X bonus points is ONLY applicable for those holding the Amex Platinum. Also, these Platinum merchants [or whatever they are called] are quite limited; hard to spend $ at those places *grins*

Another thing - we aren't asking about the MBB Treat Points (2x points given for Amex purchases) but the actual Amex Rewards Program that is run by Amex tongue.gif

@pmsoo,
If U don't want the card then cut it off and return it to the bank smile.gif The Amex Membership Rewards program has 2 options; a Traveller option and a non Traveller option - there is also a basic fee to join the program so U might want to check if those benefits are worth the annual fee [I think it's RM50]

@tishaban,
Thanks - I stumbled into the information whilst trying to get the Call Centre contact number *grins* Got the information I needed smile.gif

@dr2k3,
I believe most of the time, the pre-approved cards will bear a waiver of X years. And Yup.. no difference between the 3 based on ur above question smile.gif

@dr2k3,
Amex Charge Cards has NO credit limit. I wouldn't call it 3 different "brands" - it's more like 3 differrent organisations with similar product offerings tongue.gif

@dr2k3,
U need to understand there is a difference between a Charge and Credit Card. Most CCs will have a limit; with Amex U pay for what U use hence NO limit.

As to Y people want the Black Card - well it's really just a status thing.

@dr2k3,
If U don't believe me, just call Amex and check - they will tell U there is NO pre-set limit. You use the card and come end of the month, U pay up in full.

I oredi said, the Black Card is just a status thing! *ish*

@dr2k3,
Perhaps "side" benefits are different?! *shrugs* I'm not the one who works @ Amex!

@tishaban,
Services are the same on the Credit Card accept there is a CL on their CCs.

@dr2k3,
It's not difficult to get an Amex Card - i believe the requirement is somewhat the same as that of a usual CC.

@muscaa,
Act, MasterCard was more widely used in MY previously. Now, most places would accept Visa & MasterCard.

@David83,
There's no need for U to compile a list of Amex merchants - Amex oredi has that on their website - I read about that the last time I was on their website looking for some information; I didn't go in to view the actual page but I'm quite sure it was there.

Also, more places are accepting Amex now; I do know Amex has a higher merchant fee so merchants would still prefer Visa/Master over Amex but I tell them I don't have any other thus they have no choice *grins* [of course U first need to establish the shop takes Amex] *grins*

@Optiplex330,
Am surprised to hear/know that US Dell doesn't accept Amex. I recently made several purchases with Dell Malaysia and they did accept my payment via Amex.

The only good thing about Amex here in MY is that it's the best card that gives us back the most in terms of points smile.gif Other than that, no other 'tangible' benefit I know of tongue.gif

@tgeoklin,
I haven't had problems with the CS - I called for a temporary increase in credit line of RM15k and got RM20k. The rest of the stuff U mentioned, I do agree smile.gif

I also realise I get the promotional leaflet when it's almost expiring or when it's out-dated. Haven't had time to send Amex a nice mail but it's Christmas! tongue.gif

@Dozz,
I am. What kinda feedback would U like on the card?

@nokia2003,
I've not done a calculation [ain't Enrich member] but from what I read on the Amex communication materials, their Enrich points transfer is the best (if not, one of the best) in town *shrugs* Y don't U calculate it and see if it's better than DA. I don't know how it works so never bothered calculating it smile.gif
