QUOTE(b00n @ Nov 5 2007, 10:21 PM) we have to remember that AMEX charge higher merchant fees. That's the main reason why lots of shops do not use it. Same goes AMEX credit card or what?but like Dozz had mentioned before, and to those who doesn't know, pls understand that one have to pay full before he can use the card after being billed; thus it's a charge card same as DINERS. I read from the other thread said that there's AMEX credit card and AMEX charge card. |

QUOTE(terryykf @ Nov 5 2007, 10:48 PM) yes,corretc...indeed there are 2 types...one is normal credit card, another one is Charge card...where you have to pay in full after you use it and it has no limit... I'm still a little confused. Meaning no matter which type, you still have to pay in full? Correct me if I'm wrong ... The other thing is on no limit, what you meant? |

QUOTE(b00n @ Nov 6 2007, 03:01 PM) The big companies would be able to absorb the cost. But the smaller companies, or smaller shop wouldn't want to bear the cost. One would find it more rampant while buying electrical, mobiles and not to mention....even jewelries. I strongly agreed with this. There's always service charge imposed if you pay using CC when you want to buy consumer electronics including PC peripherals. |

I'm still not that clear regarding AE credit card and AE charge card. Are they basically the same? What're the differences between them?
Is there a credit limit on AE credit card like usual Visa or Mastercard credit card? Do I still need to repay in full for AE credit card like AE charge card? |

I just applied MBB AMEX Credit Card. I'm not qualified for Charge Card. The Maybank staff said that in order to qualify for MBB AMEX Charge Card, my MBB Visa should have a credit limit of at least RM 10k.

Appreciate that. Thank you. Added on January 2, 2008, 3:35 pm QUOTE(cute_boboi @ Jan 2 2008, 12:52 PM) I guess should be roughly the same. Any MBB cardholder could confirm this?QUOTE(Dozz @ Jan 2 2008, 03:31 PM) Amex got new promotion! apply Auto Pay for you bills , you will entitle for 3000 MR points.. anyone sign up with them already?? One thing I don't like about Autopay is when you terminate the card, you have to inform the utility company. This post has been edited by David83: Jan 2 2008, 03:35 PM |

QUOTE(glareguard @ Jan 2 2008, 10:46 PM) Annual fee is same as MBB Visa and Mastercard - RM 60 for Classic and RM 130 for Gold. If you have multiple MBB CC, it'll be RM 90.It'll be free for the first two years. |

If we swipe using AMEX, will merchant include the 6% extra charge on the bill since Visa/Mastercard charge is lower at 3%?
Thank you. |

QUOTE(Gen-X @ Jan 5 2008, 11:41 PM) i don't really get what you mean, if an item is priced at RM1K, you only pay that amount irregardless if you are paying by cash or CC or AMEX. Example, if you buy a computer from DELL, you pay the same price if you use AMEX or you bank in cash into their account. I meant the bank will charge the merchant for some fee - 3% for Visa/Mastercard and 6% for AMEX. What I wanted to know will the merchant that offers AMEX, will they pass the 6% or extra 3% (if compared to Visa/Mastercard) to the customer by including that in the bill? If you did purchase computer/computer accessory or handphone from Low Yatt or Sungei Wang Plaza, you should get what I'm trying to point out. |
