I applied for Maybank Amex Card.

But Amex sent me a gold charge card shortly after my Maybank Amex Card.

Strange.

I applied for Maybank Visa Card and they gave me another Maybank Mastercard as well. laugh.gif

It is like a buy one free one deal. Haha.

I havent register my amex gold charge card though.

Maybank got a notorious history of sending out cc to customers despite people never applied for it rclxub.gif

fee free or annual fee apply for those "free card"

whats the diff between visa, mastercard n amex.....in term of function....just to let u purchase thing right? dun tell me benefit like point point....those thing are too minor..
*
usually mbb give 1 year annual fee waiver for classic master/visa

visa/mastercard is generally accepted worldwide, although some said master is more widely accepted in msia (i think its bullsh*t)

Amex is widely accepted in USA. Msia?? I'm doubtful

Anyone tried Diners Club b4?

I was in midvalley last week. The maybank cc promoter kept asking me to apply for AMEX platinum cc, annual RM800 can be waived by spending 2k during the 1st month, and she told me that a lot of new card holders got the annual fee waived with this method. Not sure whether it's true or not?

I dont think you can waive the annual fee by spending 2k during the first month. For me , i've spend more than 15k in the first month , before end of 2nd month i already hit 25k ( for the longines watch  icon_rolleyes.gif  ) , amex finally charged the annual fee into my account at the 3rd month. As usual i call in for the waiver like i did for my amex gold charge card but this time i was being denied as they told me Platinum Series annual fee will not be waived no matter how much i have spend.
I think the promoter are not really honest, maybe desperate to get customer to sign up for the card. This is from my own experience on the annual fee waiver part. Maybe some other holders can confirm this fact?
*
That means there is no way we can get annual fee waived for plat cc?

is that amex will charge extra RM5 for sending the statement to our house? and to avoid this fee is by using their e-statement.
*
can we click "statement" in maybank2u and start using e-statement? So that AMEX will not charge the RM5

Suggest you start by asking MBB then? They are the largest insurance group in M'sia and Amex in M'sia also under them and as the saying goes, leadership by example, right?  whistling.gif

no problem for eTiQa insurance by maybank - the transaction went thru smoothly
