wanted to ask something about people who have experienced fibre cable damage

i am on maxis, and my fibre cable from the pole outside my house to my distribution point recently got cut again, and maxis brought a tm contractor and they are asking me to pay

i recently paid rm300 for that same outdoor wire because a tall lorry hit it

if i was in unifi, would they charge me to replace the wire from the pole to my house too? because my contract is up and i can just switch to unifi if i dont have to pay this fee again, and unifi even has 12 hour service restoration for the gigabit plan i am on with maxis

You should not pay a single cent for cable breakage no matter what isp you are in.

That cable outdoor is not your property. Why you pay gov infra maintenance out of your pocket?💀

likely it is the $ collected by the contractor themselves as they know that the owner is not aware of this.

if there is no receipt given, very hard to raise dipute on this.

this is the same for those contractors who collected $ for new unifi installation even their houses are within the installation limit (in terms of the free wiring lengths provided by the standard free installation).

The worst part is i asked maxis multiple times why do i need to pay, they said tm dont cover non tm user fibre cable because they dont want to be responsible for it?

and so many other maxis users i know also have paid for this wire, but this time i'll let maxis know i wont be paying

I got a coconut palm leaf stuck on the Unifi fiber wire outside my house.

Called Unifi, here is their response:
1. Cable within compound, we have to pay contractor if cable cuts.
2. Cable outside compound, Unifi will restore FOC.

Now the cable is from the tiang (pole) to my roof, the area affected is outside my compound. For now I have internet, but soon the fiber cable might snap.

Customer service at Unifi says to get City Council to chop the leaf..

I just don't want interruption to my Unifi, but since the cable bend is outside my house, it sucks that Unifi won't send contractors (for free).
