Planned to upgrade to 1gbps from 500mbps, which router and mesh wi fi do you guys recommend, mostly for iptv streaming and online gaming

Faham faham. Now I still stick with old configuration, heck I even downgraded my internet plan thou I am scheduled to receive free speed upgrade to 1G. I hope, or I could be wrong, but really hope TM goes back to standalone configuration. This is a huge security risk for non-IT people. Just imagine if any bad actor able to find more CVEs or huge flaw in the firmware, then they could turn the ONR into botnet or even worst cyber attack events.

I dont see what's the issue here. If you want to use your own router, you can always use the combo router as just a modem you know.


Btw guys, just want to ask, why at night video keeps buffering on X(twitter) at night?

Lots of videos buffering tonight on youtube. This in addition to the nasty, nightly slowdown on social media websites like twitter.

For the past few months, I've been intensely regretting my decision to upgrade to 1gb. I'm essentially paying a premium while barely getting 70% of the speed and bandwidth promised, and I still have about 20 months left on the renewed contract. Else I'd switched in a heartbeat. Also, a certain competitor of unifi have yet to be affected by the DNS redirection, too.

Just not worth it. Buyer beware.

You still having the pppoe disconnect problem? Way back in 2019, I had this prob too. iirc, it was like this for the whole week but I was busy so didn't bother about it. Then the problem went away the next week.


Sometimes minutes and sometimes hours between the disconnections. iirc I get a PADT for all(?) the disconnections.

Ah no,TM fixed already.
Almost 99% similar to your case.
Tinkering with it for 3days,and thinking maybe my RB5009 rosak or not... (I almost give up and ready to order a new mikrotik router again)
Fortunately TM fixed it at the day they send technician came,and help me to report back to KL HQ about my upload high ping issue.

What was the issue leading to your previous frequent dc and what TM tech actually did to fix the issue? TQ!

I have no idea what causing the issue...
That day TM technician came just tell me the disconnection is their system problem.
And for the upload high latency issue-dont know reason,after saturday technician came,and after that Monday i try to test again and no more upload high latency issue occurs anymore..

But the only thing i can said is both issue is not causing by own device,1000% TM faults.

Secondly, I can give TM credit for being quite responsive with their technical support.
They dispatch a technician within 24 hours and provide an accurate appointment time for on-site support. (I report with livechat,and livechat make the next day appointment for me)
Although the technician didn't came with the time that agreed but he did came at the day(About 2hours later after the appointment time)

Mine was like 3 months mau finish, so alang2 try asking for SWU (that time it was SWU3.0)

After sign swu, will the plan in account show as swu?
Or how long before it effective

Applied yesterday, today still show old plan , can't see Disney plus listed also 🤔
