You can't get SWU 5.0 until your current SWU 4.0 contract ends. You can upgrade but they'll probably charge the normal price. Check in your my unifi app, it should show you what package you could upgrade to and how much is the cost.

Just sharing if you plan to use your own router with Unifi Skyworth GN630V Modem router combo

Guys, last week I tried using Blacktubi to set my Unifi modem and router to bridge mode, but it messed up my whole network and internet. It worked for the first 12 hours then suddenly connected to the internet but no internet.

A TM technician came to fix it and told me that the Unifi Skyworth GN630V is set as a combo device, meaning it can’t be just switch it to modem. He said he needed to change the settings in the ONU to switch it to modem mode. It was messing it for nearly 30minutes, reset, reconfigure, reset again, reconfigure keep referring his phone on UNIFI website

I asked for the password, but he said he couldn’t give it. After he adjusted some settings, everything worked perfectly again.
So, if you’re planning to use your own router, make sure to ask the technician to set the ONU to "combo router to modem mode" so your router can work properly.
Also, if you’re using an existing ONU, you can request Unifi’s technician to maintain it for you. Hope this helps!
Lastly the best is its free of charge he didn't even charge me a dime

Luckily for me, when they saw my XT8 Mesh, they straight away configured mine to bridge mode. It took them a while, no idea what they were doing but it seems that they were using some sort of admin stuff, sharing between the two of them which I think part of the password haha, but I didn't pay much attention.

I was so happy when I followed your guide and got everything working! But after 12 hours, the internet suddenly stopped. It still showed connected, but there was no internet.

I tried turning the router off and on multiple times. I even tried changing the WAN IP, but I couldn’t even access the Skyworth router anymore.

In the end, I had to call a Unifi technician. He plugged in a LAN cable to check the Skyworth router and saw that it was in Bridge mode, but even he couldn’t figure out what was wrong at first.

He reset both my Asus router and the Skyworth router, then spent about 10 minutes messing with the settings. At one point, I saw him call someone for help.

He kept repeating, "Your router is set as combo" over and over. After he finally got everything working again, I asked him to teach me how to fix it myself. But he said, "Sorry, you can't access that page. You need a password." He said he can't give the password

For those who got the Skyworth GN630V combo router, it's super easy to turn that thing into bridge mode and still use PPPOE at your own router.

You should definitely do that as any decent third party router should have a much faster CPU than the GN630V.

My settings below:

Note: VLAN tagging / IPTV Profile / VLAN profile not needed on your router with this configuration!

Remember to switch off the WiFi function once that's done.

Hi,

I am using Asus AX6000. Followed this step and exact configuration. Set my PPPoE via the standard Asus wizard setup and able to get to router main page. But I am still not able to get it working and the internet LED on router still red. Anything I should be looking at further?. I've double confirm the PPPoE password and it's the same as the one in GN630V. Only managed to get internet when switch back the skyworth to router mode. Appreciate any input.

Do not use special ISP requirement on your ASUS router if you follow my guide as the VLAN 500 is already handled by the modem
