Bro, i am giving you an alternative solutions and you choose to follow your own heart. So no point we discuss on how to solve the problem as you have make up your mind. Be my guest.  nod.gif

I am not comparing who is better what sort ever, I am trying to tell you to wake up stop doing fantasy that TP Link will enable DoH or DoT function in your deco X50. People now focus on their newer WiFi 7 product.

And besides that, speaking of resources, I am just suggesting you to do a temp setup to identify where went wrong. If you don't have such resources, I am so sorry for you that i did not acknowledge your situation.

You don't have to be snap on me over these trivial issue. Be mature instead of snapping at people just because my words does not sounds sweet to your eyes.
*
Look buddy, if I can, I would have gone the pihole setup long ago. Like I mentioned earlier, I just want a usable DNS that's all, simple straight forward, no frills.

Then why did you have to pull out that Asus card in the first place? What are you trying to imply with your Wifi 5 gen asus then?

So be it, if tp link is going to update that feature or not, I don't care, the mesh I'm using serves it purpose and that's it. Not fanboying for that brand anyway anyhow.

And who is snapping on you? aren't you the overly sensitive here?

Why this thread still got so many overgrown adults stuck in a kids mentality?

My next option is to either use nextdns or ControlD service since ISP eyes on CF and Google DNS now, or probably, they eying on all public DNS service.

Look buddy, you just cannot admit that your things cannot get it all together and now you are ranting over here. Every sifu at here has their own dedicate device to serve as their DNS server and you are the special one stuck with kids mentality yet overgrown utterly stubborn adult who refused to accept the fact that your setup is not working at all.

Snapping or not let it be, does not affect me at all. I am done over here. GOOD DAY to you and GOOD LUCK laugh.gif

You should mirror yourself first perhaps? Asking people to beat it when they are just inputting their feedback.

Sounds like you have some Narcissistic self entitlement much thinking that everyone should listen or follow your way to make yourself like the hero of the day.

Every sifu? What are you on about? This thread was about Unifi services in the first, and where are you plucking the figures that everyone here is having their own dedicated device for DNS purposes? You representing everyone here? Wow.

I would like to see the numbers on how many people are actually using their own devices setup as a DNS server VS the number who just use their routers as it is from ISP by default.

You were the one who start quoting/replying me out of nowhere and when people put in their input you are flipping like a typical child who just tripped over a stone. This is not /k/.

Grow up and start touching grass.

Chill guys, let me ask noob questions here. biggrin.gif

- What's the deal, should I wait for the so-called SWU 5.0? Or should I just go ask and try my luck.
- With SWU they usually give new modem/router?

I already tried. As long as you encrypted your network with SSL over TLS or DOH. The webpage immediately not able to load.

This is probably a good thing. Means they cannot MiTM an encrypted connection and redirect you. Can only block the hostname/IP outright. The question now becomes why you are experiencing this and I am not. Are they doing this in stages or is it perhaps being done locally by the newer ONU (mine’s the old white Huawei) boxes?

Ok..just saying a setup a VM is pretty fast as the Linux package has everything inside and i think you can get AdGuard home up in 10 minutes. Just use some of your existing computer resources to test it out only.

TBH i would advise you don't hope too much hope on TP Link. Even my crappy ASUS AC68U also has DoT function build in. your Deco X50 is way modern and newer than my crappy AC68U.  whistling.gif

Could you please link me to any website that teaches how this is done and what are the needed equipment? Just to be frank, I know nothing about this.

First of all, he did not fully understand my statement and simply reply me. Input wrong info and try to make them sounds right. so nothing wrong to get them beat it. Just like you, calling people to get a life. You and I are not so different.

You can rant it over and over like a big baby whining for pacifier or milk.

How many forumers at here using their own device? You can take your own sweet time to observe who are they.

Since you find my reply/quote to you offensive, you could have walk away or ignore me straight, but instead you fall into the slump together with me, that's make us equal laugh.gif

Get a life man and start figure out solution instead /ktard with me over this argument. Cheers

Yeah the ONU given to new SWU contractees is definitely suspect as some have said. Other factors could be the region (which state) and the IP address range.

Hopefully more people experiencing this come forward and we can start seeing what they have in common.

Unless my english fails me, this is what "beat it" refers to

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/beat-it

Don't try to side step or change the topic to cover for your own narcissistic disorder. What's wrong about the info he shared? He just posted a photo of the router supporting DoH, DoT, that's all.

Just now say "EVERY SIFU", now telling me to observe? What are you on about , smoking too much e-shrooms?

I did not find your post offensive, i find it humorous and stupid like a computer geek nerd that I assume that you would like in real life. Talk shit and not on the forums like as if everyone has to listen to your way and do it your way.

Sounds like you have some very serious disorder when you start to compare and even self assume about us being equals?

Get a life? Look who's talking when he was the one who said he's done here and telling people good day good luck.

Hahahha...what a joker you are kid.

Go tinker on with that pihole of yours. Don't come throw tantrum here when people don't buy your idea of how things work.

Wait aren't you using a PiHole or dedicated devices to host your own DNS server?

Because according to one wizard here, most sifus or forummers here in this thread are all experts and 99% host their own DNS and should be using one!

Jokes aside, you can try using nextdns, that works for me at the moment for now.

Guys, have a question for you guys.

Recently I applied unifi 100Mbps package and the installer came to my apartment (old apartment).

The installer checked and found no fiber cable and they have to pull cable from the room (with ports I perhaps) into my house. Approximately 10-15 meters if follow the cable routing on the wall.
May I know if this is FOC considering it’s outside the house. I’m not sure because not landed unit.

And then the cable went into the house following a ready drilled hole (done by us previously) and routed following the plastic casing within the house until the modem. (Casing also already installed, they just open, put in the fiber cable and close the casing)
Approximately less than 10 meters length within the house)
May I know if this is FOC as well?

I was charged RM150 and can only pay in cash.

Any input is welcome ya. Thanks.

Are you also under Stay With Unifi and got upgraded recently? Did you recently get a new ONU/modem and router with the upgrade?

Several users here have reported this but trying to confirm what there is in common.

I am under SWU upgraded to 500mbps, but modem same old. Guess I'll have to rely on VPN from now on?

Interesting. So far some of those affected have been SWU upgraded also but you don't have any new equipment. So that rules out the ONU as how they implement the block.

If your DNS is set on router level and if the rest of the internet is working besides the blocked sites, try setting DoH on your browser and see if that works.

I'm FSU 2023/2024 not SWU. Still using the old Huawei ONT so it's probably not that. Likely region based before TM rolls it out fully. So far I've seen dns.google, dns.opendns.com and dns.cloudflare.com being "hijacked" and ports for DoH & DoT blocked.

I'm in Kajang using ibse01.bgi.
