Guys,
I'm in dilemma now.
Currently i'm with Unifi 800Mbps with bundled basic unifi tv, paying RM189 monthly.
As I'm currently an Astro subscriber, the Astro's offer seems nice:
500Mbps, with only RM100 (roughly including tax and all).
And Unifi now trying to counter offer, if I renew contract with them, I'll get 3 months free. Means after translated to 2 years, per month I'm paying RM165.
Sum:
Astro 500Mbps - RM100 Cons: - No home phone (which i rarely or not using) - No more Unifi TV (which i rarely or not watching it) - Speed downgraded from my previous 800Mbps.
Means I got a discount of RM65 compared to the current Unifi i'm using (if i decided to renew Unifi contract).
So, any thoughts? Should I go or stay?

QUOTE(aniq8676 @ Jul 9 2024, 12:10 AM) The price and speed offered by Astro is for 24 months only Yup, but if they increase the price after that, i can just stop as contract already finished and find a better value ISP.

Recontract 6 months waiver. that's alot. Ok, going to TMPoint soon. Better take this offer than changing to Astro fibre i guess

QUOTE(jiaen0509 @ Jul 24 2024, 03:01 PM) TM just called me to offer a 3-month fee waiver in exchange for a 24-month contract. I need your opinion. If you decide to keep the services and not switch ISPs, would you take the offer considering it’s only for 3 months? Not sure how para lowyat guru will advise. Try to go to TMPOINT and ask for StayWithUnifi campaign offers. I heard they can give up to 6-month waiver

Hi guys, I just went to TMPoint.
Their SWU offers if renew 24 months contract: 300Mbps RM129, 500Mbps RM149 without unifiTV (With 6 months free)
Unifi telemarketer offers me 3 months free if i renew my current package, 800Mbps RM189 default bundled with unifiTV (which i rarely or don't watch)
Another alternative is Astro Fibre, 500Mbps RM95, with free 1 month.
So, guys, any suggestions?

QUOTE(dannychen @ Jul 26 2024, 05:18 PM) not worth it at all, latest offer for 300mpbs is RM99 free 3 months, free Wifi 6 Combo Box. previous offer for SWU3.0 for 500mpbs was RM119 free 6 months, free mesh Wifi 6 router. yup. so from my current situation, what's the best choice?

Guys, I still haven't decided on which package I'm going to take for SWU Currently my package is 800Mbps download / 200Mbps upload with basic unifi TV, RM189 per month. The SWU offered: 1. 500Mbps / 100Mbps (no unifi tv) is averagely RM112 per month (after i deduct the free 6 months usage) or 2. Stick with my current plan, and I will get 3 months free usage (equivalent to RM165 per month) Damn dilemma la. My current package is not about just the 800Mbps, but upload is twice higher (200Mbps). Can feel the benefit when uploading things to cloud.

QUOTE(YoungMan @ Aug 5 2024, 03:23 PM) How often do you upload large files? If upload is not too critical then go for 500mbps. If upload is so important you might as well go 1gbps and boost the upload to 500mbps. 800mbps upload is also alang2 only. Not that often, but still, it's like u already used to it suddenly downgrading plak. haha

For me it's 300mbps to 500mbps, with unifi tv ultimate RM179. I asked about SWU but the person on the line said no more SWU. Yeah, the one from telemarketer 3 month waiver. SWU must go TMPOINT. i went there 2 weeks ago, still got

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Aug 5 2024, 05:07 PM) Raise a ticket with MCMC regarding the free speed upgrade. This will upgrade your current 800Mb/s package to 1Gb/s, which includes an upload speed of 500Mb/s, without requiring a contract renewal. The free upgrade is typically completed within 14 working days. Once the speed upgrade is completed, you can visit TMPoint again to take advantage of the SWU offer. You can follow my guide on how to submit a ticket to MCMC regarding the free speed upgrade at the following link: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5424552/+2010If you're using the combo BTU+router, some users are experiencing issues with it. Fortunately, I still have my original BTU, so I use that and keep the new combo BTU+router as spare. i already got my free speed upgrade last year. from 500mbps to 800mbps

QUOTE(sHawTY @ Aug 5 2024, 08:43 PM) Ahh, okay Understood. I already received the email and SMS with the tracking number on 31 July but it's still untraceable until today Guess I just have to wait a little longer My previous Smart Device was the 60" Sharp TV and it was delivered within 3 working days. They shipped using Line Clear Express This time I ordered the ROG Ally, and the SMS from TM mentioned that it's shipped using Line Clear Express too so, back to my question, which one seems more worth? Currently my package is 800Mbps download / 200Mbps upload with basic unifi TV, RM189 per month. The SWU offered: 1. 500Mbps / 100Mbps (no unifi tv) is averagely RM112 per month (after i deduct the free 6 months usage) or 2.
