Received an SMS from Unifi today. Saying that my unifi package name is changed. I checked my portal. And yes, its changed to Unifi Home 500Mbps - Pro Upgrade.

I guess this confirms that the SWU 3.0 free upgrade is indeed permanent.

800Mbps - 1Gbps free upgrade chronology

5 August 2024 - received call from TM saying i’m eligible
7 August 2024 - order created in MyUnifi app
12 August 2024 - unifi technician visited for installation of the new combo router

Installation was quite smooth except for the fact my DECT did not work initially with the D-Link combo box; technician called 100 for me and after 20 minutes it was working

Currently speed is quite good; however my old DAP-1330 wifi extender can no longer connect to the new router - is it possible this is due to the newer wifi network security protocol that’s not supported by the old extender? If so might consider to switch back to the old setup/buy new d-link mesh extender

Just received my upgrade from 800mbps to 1gbps today as well, technician didn't touch my existing ONT, left the black box with me as I told him I want to use my own router. He said the black box is quite buggy.

Oh yeah, I remember that posting.
Enjoy the upgrade to 2Gbps!

Meanwhile, I am still waiting for my upgrade from 800Mbps to 1Gbps.
After submitting the official complaint via the MCMC CRP portal on 7th August, the case was attended by TM's CS Team on 8th August, mentioning that it had already been forwarded to TM's relevant department for CPE replacement, and she then proceeded to close the complaint.
I've disputed it, made an appeal to reopen the case, and provided more chronological details for further investigation.

On 9th August, received a call from 03-7933 3300, offering for free upgrade to 1Gbps.
I mentioned to her that her team already closed my complaint on the MCMC CRP portal earlier, and I appealed that issue.
During this call, I agreed to proceed with the free upgrade offer to 1GBps and was told that it would take 3 working days for processing and CPE replacement on-site.

As for today, nothing happened on the app (no new order under My Orders), my MCMC complaint status is open / Appeal in the MCMC CRP portal and was automatically forwarded to the Consumer Forum of Malaysia (CFM), and I guess I need to wait until this Thursday for any progress on this issue.

Funny things happened just now.

TM Outbound Team callled me to offer the upgrade package for the 2nd time within 4 days (from Friday).
Asked her about the call log / status update on previous Friday offer call, she said that there is NO call record in the system.

Very efficient lah TM.

Just tell them you are switching from Maxis and ask them what's the current offer. For all you know, Maxis will also call to counter back the same offer.

That's good. Will need faster than 1 Gigabit LAN ports to go above that.
