I didn't note down what firmware version I had when I originally got the ONR so I didn't check yesterday.
Well its like this - power went out yesterday at some point, I decided to go out for dinner, came home few hours later to the internet not working.

Rebooted both the ONR and my Asus router a few times, nothing changed.

Turns out the configuration on the ONR was changed (not by me) to I suppose terminate the VLAN tagging on the ONR, so my router which had the same config its always had (VLAN tagging enabled with specific Unifi config) couldn't connect/route traffic any more - killing my internet. Through some experimentation I changed the router PPPoE settings to default (removing the ISP requirement for VLANs) and was able to connect then.

In terms of bridge mode issues - yes I believe after a few hours my connection going to get limited to 300mbps instead of 1gbps which has always been a problem with this black DLINK 2.5g ONR or the OLT I'm connected to. Though I'm not sure if this same issue would occur if its used in router mode or not.
*
Is your black ONR firmware version DPN-FX3060V_V2.0.2? I just did a quick speed test and noticed that my speed dropped to 300 Mbps, the first time this has happened since I got the black ONR in early June.

I’m not sure if this is due to my recent router firmware update or the black ONR. I’ll need a few days to minitor it. I am aware that my router firmware has issues with Wi-Fi disabling, but reverting to the old firmware will no longer have issue. Hopefully, it’s a router firmware issue and not something Unifi is doing behind the scenes.

Guys,

I still haven't decided on which package I'm going to take for SWU sweat.gif

Currently my package is 800Mbps download / 200Mbps upload with basic unifi TV, RM189 per month.

The SWU offered:

1. 500Mbps / 100Mbps (no unifi tv) is averagely RM112 per month (after i deduct the free 6 months usage)

or

2. Stick with my current plan, and I will get 3 months free usage (equivalent to RM165 per month)

Damn dilemma la. My current package is not about just the 800Mbps, but upload is twice higher (200Mbps). Can feel the benefit when uploading things to cloud.

How often do you upload large files? If upload is not too critical then go for 500mbps. If upload is so important you might as well go 1gbps and boost the upload to 500mbps. 800mbps upload is also alang2 only.

Curious to know too. Unifi called today, but offered only their Hebat campaign. Speed upgrade, same price 3 months waiver. For me it's 300mbps to 500mbps, with unifi tv ultimate RM179. I asked about SWU but the person on the line said no more SWU.

Just checked again and noticed that though the branch I went to is called TMPOINT, but in the UNIFI website, it's a TM Authorised Dealer. Gonna try going to an actual TMPOINT next. Thanks for sharing!

Finally received my call from TM this afternoon for my free upgrade from 800Mbps to 1Gbps, no contract, and will be processed in 3 days after registration.
But after reading through the thread seems like the upgrade makes the internet worse due to the combo router confused.gif hopefully can avoid such problem

Raise a ticket with MCMC regarding the free speed upgrade. This will upgrade your current 800Mb/s package to 1Gb/s, which includes an upload speed of 500Mb/s, without requiring a contract renewal. The free upgrade is typically completed within 14 working days.

Once the speed upgrade is completed, you can visit TMPoint again to take advantage of the SWU offer.

You can follow my guide on how to submit a ticket to MCMC regarding the free speed upgrade at the following link:

If you're using the combo BTU+router, some users are experiencing issues with it. Fortunately, I still have my original BTU, so I use that and keep the new combo BTU+router as spare.

So they did not take away the modem with them after giving you the combo and it is still working

How about the speed?

They allowed me to continue using the existing BTU and advised me to keep the new one as a spare. They also configured the new BTU into bridge mode and tested it before repacking it into the box.

The download speed is limited to 920 Mbps, whereas the upload speed consistently reaches the full 500 Mbps.

Has anyone ordered the Smart Device add-on from UniFi?
How long did it take for you to receive the device after placing the order?
*
May no longer be indicative since this was during the start of MCO in 2020. Deco M4 order took 16 days.

My current one is still the old Alcatel Lucent i240g, paired with TP-Link Archer AX20, hopefully it can support the upgraded speed. Will see how it works with the new combo router first i guess

Should be fine. after a while you will forget about it as long as you are not doing large upload daily.
