Same model as the usual one right? Where anime4000 discovered that the 2.5Gbps port exists but is not enabled by firmware? So this just has the proper firmware that enables the 2.5Gbps ethernet port?

I cross-checked with my current model(white), and the only difference I found is the arrangement of the light bulb; LAN 1 words has been changed to support 2.5GE. The model number remains exactly the same, additional USB port, VOIP port cuts from 2 to 1.

What's the advantage of bridge mode as compared to the normal ppoe(i think)

Faster speed? Better control?

Basically, if you have your own router, just turning the combo box to a ONU only

Currently using my own asus router with huawei white btu

I didn't do anything special like set up bridge mode i just replace the provided tmnet dlink router with my own asus router input my user and pass and that about it

Is this consider bridge mode?

Izit Now new setup need special config to use own router?

If the wan port is 2.5gbps but the lan port is only limited to 1gbps, i think it defeats the purpose of giving it out.

You can only achieve max speed just by connecting to that combo modem/router SSID , for lan ethernet connection ,I dont think you are able to reach more than 1Gbps.

Bridge mode is only applicable when you don't intend to use that device to do routing (DHCP and NAT) for all your internet devices.

Your current setup is the correct setup .

The setup process is still the same as always, fill in the right details for PPPOE and password and select the correct VLan profile.

That’s the point of the AIO ONU, OLT authenticate on the same device, the GPON is connected to router as WAN on chip level instead of physical port.

This is the correct equipment they should be providing to 1Gbps and 2Gbps subscribers.

The 2.5G port can be used as a 2.5G uplink if the user decides to use it as their main router. If not, they can just turn it into bridge mode and the downstream router can dial PPPoE at 2.5G instead of 1G

So the white one disabled 2.5Gbps is probably because of thermals. Dunno about 2.5Gbps but my Mikrotik 10Gbps SFP module is hot as hell.

My 2.5G switch is fanless, so compared to 10G it's still not as bad pretty sure

did TM do anything to their international routing or etc in recent months?
lately almost every common websites like facebook, utube, reddit for example just slow to load for me... while my online games sometimes lag spikes.
but everytime do speedtest show stable DL/UL speed, low latency.

DNS already on Google DNS

I haven't seen any Fiber SFP that doesn't run hot

Tested tons. Extreme Network, Huawei, HP, Dell & others. None of them runs cool to me
Or maybe I just haven't found one laugh.gif
