Yep, I tried before and it can not play BD .ISO file. I will upgrade my 4100 when DVICO comes up with one that can play BD .ISO and with full menu support. rolleyes.gif

The 6500/7000 series is running sigma design's newer smp8635 chipset vs the em8623 chipset used in the 5100. that, and placebo effect. tongue.gif

liddat cannot use tvix for BDrips liao.. will only get DD (instead of able to select lossless) with M2TS tracks?

or have to manually re-make .TS files with the m2TS.. 1hour to rip 1more hour to make TS..

but shorter time than trying to make 1080p mkvs tongue.gif

why considered placebo? since the 6500 and the older 4/5k series uses different (older) chipsent mah.. could have improved difference..

Not placebo, the 6500 costs what my 4100 cost me, so with Moore's law, it really should be a great deal better...

After all, the 8635 has more memory, is faster, better algorithms, blah-blah-blah - now I feel like upgrading!

as I mentioned earlier and echoing what Kkm said, maybe not so placebo when using a newer better chipset.. it will have difference.. either to your eyes or to your wallet.. tongue.gif

i have to get my friend hdx1000 to compare picture again ..
but if i remember right when i was setting the two units hdx1000, the PQ for it was good, but the 6500 really grab me immediately when i test the blu ray mkv files...

went and dump more hd files into my player just now to test my eyes again....
.. testing matrix 1080p now .. colors were quite artificial on 4100/5100 for this file.. but 6500 pass with flying colors...

guys.. i found some bug after updating the firmware.
1) the volume control. When i increase and decrease the volume control, no effect at all to the volume. I have tried the setup setting and play around with it. cant find anything also... pls advise.
2) My dvix is connected to my yammy 663 and before i upgrade the firmware i can select the surround decoder to the choice i want, dts, pro-logic... bla bla bla... but after installing the new firmware, i can change the options already.. pretty much like the movie already pre select the decoder.

Other Question: Have anybody tried hooking up the DVIX with an external CD ROM... i wonder will it works....

anybody encounter this please advise if you have done anything to it... thanks again..
