I was thinking of getting the 5100SH for one simple reason :
QUOTE In the network function, you can enjoy a movie with no TViX HDD TViX HD can be networked with a PC system using its built-in LAN port. You are able to navigate to a file in a PC on TVIX Boxs network and play the file from its original destination without having to first copy it onto the TVIX Box HD. No need to get HDD..seems pretty useful. |

I thought it's only RM1500++?..that was what they quoted me at Midvalley Megamall. HTPC big la..and u have to run a Windows OS not to mention the bootup time and the noise from the fan. Very mah fan.

1.5k for the 4100 nia
1.7k for the 5100 both are identical except for the outlook, the rest are the same but dvb tuner for 4100 cheaper so far so good, only a few files got problem, no audio or stuck tested a few 720p mkv files yesterday, all played fine with dolby digital except for one file gone in 60 seconds |

btw, off topic... since blu ray disc are not easily available in MY let alone the player price... those who bought 720 or full HD tv where are those ppl getting their source?
Or are they buying because "it is new technology" or "my fren have i oso must have?" Download? Tmnet is controlling the speed 720p file over 1 gb. 1080 i think 8-20gb.... Buying DVD from Amazon , ebay? too pricey especially the shipping costs |

lots of ppl buying flat panels are for showing nia, not a very high percentage of buyers tat fully utilise its resolution, i know many who until now are still using composite for dvd playing not even component least to say hdmi
blu rays and hd dvd are not tat hard to get, i get mine from amazon, which is hassle free and fast, and end of the day its even cheaper than those on sale in msia lucky for jaybee ppl(me dunno is there any HD5 users in jaybee yet or not, am i the early adopters? |

Bro, Bluray price on amazon will shock you. They're almost the same price as regular DVDs.Or are they buying because "it is new technology" or "my fren have i oso must have?" Download? Buying DVD from Amazon , ebay? too pricey especially the shipping costs I don't have a PS3 or bluray player (gonna wait till one format wins) so these people who buy 720 or Full HD TVs are mostly also gamers. They play Xbox 360/PS3 at 720p/1080i/p. |

My LCD TV is 1366 x 768 (not FullHD...i know)
If I have a file which is 640x480 (usual TVB serials), will it stretch to the fullest screen possible while keeping the right ratio ? Any models support PATA drives ? This post has been edited by ronnie: Oct 28 2007, 10:54 PM |
