Did you receive SMS saying it had been upgraded? The schedule is till Dec 2023

If you had received the SMS, the you can perform the turning Off/ON at the modem.

Aiks didn't you ask the TM Tech who did the installation to contact the Backend Team to open your 500M port? That's what I did.

Asked the tech and they asked me to refer back to their CS

Maybe bad port on the AX73.

Your Cat 8 cable is expensive right? If cheap, may have to look at that.

I'm using Dintek Cat5E terminated by myself so I know my cables are good.

Cat 5E can achieve multigig larh ..no need to replace LOL

currently Cat 5E is capable up to 5Gbe.
Realtek is coming out a 5Gbe USB ethernet adapter next year.

So anyone need to replace the ethernet cable, just get a Cat6A then it should be enough for next 5 year with minimum 10Gbe. (Or higher speed support later)

1. @soonwai was responding to another post; himself NOT experiencing the issue highlighted in by poster he responded to.

2. CAT5 and CAT5e are two different cables, in case it is not yet apparent. And highlighted by the other poster, he is already using CAT8.

yea. When network people talk about the old cat5e can't support, they are talking about datacenter or enterprise networking context.
In this environment cables are almost always run in big bundles across big buildings. There is heavy crosstalk among these individual cables that are beyond what cat5e shielding could protect.

It doesn't really matter in the home setting when you just run a single cable where crosstalk issue is not a concern.

For those who want keep tv pack & free calls, may try to check the upgrade plan available first before switch to swu because I think swu package only good for those who don’t want the entertainment + free 600mins phone call, otherwise it seems like just same price compare to those plans when I click change my plan in unifi account.

Crap quality cable might not be able to run for that high speed, only standard or high quality cable should be use for that high speed.

yea I assume the cable built within specified spec.

but for real tho. cat* is just name and published spec, at the end it depends on honesty and reputation of manufacturer.
During pkp I did emergency purchase of this really cheap no name 'cat5e' cable from shopee. Run 20m inside my house passing through all kind of noise like mains cable, AVR and fan.
It refuses to auto negotiate to 1gbps speed. Capped 100mbps.

After some time I replace with proper AMP brand cable, only then can get 1gbps.

Normally the Tech would give a call to their backend team while on-prem to ensure the port is correctly opened and working as expected

This should be the way. Get it done in one shot, but some techs maybe just want to do the minimum and get to the next appointment.

No worries la icon_idea.gif , hopefully smooth and not too many reports required just to get the upgraded speed. rclxms.gif
