40k service is the major service where they changed quite a number of parts compared to your other regular interval services.

spark plugs, fuel filter, air filter, CVTF etc etc

forgotten liow. I claimed my 40k items before my warranty was over.

My car April 2004. Car mileage now is 47K.  tongue.gif

Huiyo... ohmy.gif
Sori to hear that, mate...
Was it becuse due to the fact that our City is only equipped with such a simple "immobiliser"?
How do we actually use the Shift Lock anyway??? icon_question.gif
Found nothing bout this Shift Lock thingie in the manual...
I also invested in an AutoLock PRO, just in case... shakehead.gif

I think, there is something abt the SHIFT LOCK in the manual.. forgot which page..

but frm what i remember, its not a 'security' feature, its used when you have problems to shift the gear, i.e your gear shift is jammed..

The SC mechanic told me a bit about shift lock. We use it if the City gear get jammed (meaning you can't change gear).

To use this releasing feature, use your Honda City key (the one with immobilizer) and insert it to the small slot beside your gear.

Once inserted, the gear will free up - releasing Shift Lock.

Thanks neato4u. rclxms.gif
which means we'll have to shut off the transmission before we can do that, right???
Actually, wat makes this happen, under wat circumstance would the gear lock - up?

its actually for ppl who cant start their engine...

when you did not start your engine, you cant change from P to N...
so you put the key into that hole and you'll be able to change P to N...

then start pushing your car to service center... biggrin.gif

Wah lau eh~
Those bugger even target at City now ar?!?!?!

Looks like Malaysia really not safe anymore. WTH is going on out there? Those so called 'pure' policemen never do their job ar?

Setup roadblock for what? Just to catch those speeding drivers, using HP while driving, never wear seat belt and so on nia? Wasting the tax payer $$$...

Useless and hopeless fellas~

Its also useful for when you fuse related to the gear shift is blown..you can start the engine but the cant shift gear..so may use the release feature to drive to nearby shop to get your fuse changed. if i'm not wrong the horn fuse somehow shares with the rear brake light. whenever you changed to higher rating horns..then fuse blown so your braking lights not functioning as well..safety feature kua they automatically lock you gears.

Hi splinter, i know how u feel. sad.gif
the other day, i send in my car to the carwash in my apartment compound becoz suddenly kena bomb by pigeons & crows in the notorious Sri Petaling area, but the idiot used an old rag from a torn piece of trousers (u know how rough those things are, rite???) and wiped my windows from inside...
Before i could stop them, oredi scratched the tinting... vmad.gif
Idiots with capital I... vmad.gif

anyway, i am learning to live with it. cry.gif

1K service, they will only ask u if there's anything unusual bout your car...
My experience, i told them my VTEC FC was quite high (9.4km/l), the side mirrors not in-sync when folding, the washer nozzle shoot till kena the car at the back & so on... icon_idea.gif
Usually, there won't be much complains u can make bout the car...
But u can ask them to rectify anything u feel out-of-place...
BTW, i got a Red "Honda Racing" Cap from the SC.. whistling.gif
