QUOTE(redevil @ Aug 19 2008, 06:40 PM) QUOTE(shadowcaster @ Aug 20 2008, 12:55 AM) Perhaps you can give it a try. Prepared yourself a mini tong of petrol. Then start measure the distance until the car actually started to "dry out", in this term the car engine will just goes dead. Then you can add the petrol into the petrol hole and start the car again. At that time you've already got the actual milage reading. However, i heard it's not that good for the engine to run until petrol dried out. And it might take a while for the petrol to reach the engine after you refill the petrol manually. It's not a good experiment to perform but it is a good understanding/knowledge for yourself on the car you are driving daily. At least you'll know how far you can still drive if you missed a petrol station on the highway. |

yea, i also heard it's i-vtec
nobody starting the new thread version ? how far a full tank can go is very subjective. if you test this in town driving, of course it's low. if you test this in PLUS highway, of course can go a lot further. and do u really want to test this until petrol dried out? not a good experience... |

QUOTE(F1meteor @ Aug 20 2008, 10:13 AM) yea, i also heard it's i-vtec Haha... Yup. Not recommended but it's a good info gathering experiment. Perhaps one day if someone really that bad luck and met no petrol station until car engine failed, then only get the reading and post it here to let every one of us know.. nobody starting the new thread version ? how far a full tank can go is very subjective. if you test this in town driving, of course it's low. if you test this in PLUS highway, of course can go a lot further. and do u really want to test this until petrol dried out? not a good experience... I personally experienced before on an old car with fuel gauge and even the fuel warning light rosak. Tough experience but unable to get the reading since i don't even know when the warning light start to alert. |

new city most likely will follow the new jazz's engine n chasis. its 1.5 ivtec with 5AT transmission. in Singapore htey have 1.3 variant buy in malaysia they will only bring in 1.5 in two models. type S n V. Head to your nearest showroom, new jazz its already launched. paddle shifter on type V if not mistaken! |

I ran for 120km after the fuel indicator warning went on and it was no problem. Since my FC is 14km/L I assume at least 10L left.
And yes, it's not good to let the fuel run too low, because the sediments at the bottom of the fuel tank will get sucked into the fuel pump |
