My city still face the jerking problem.

I sent it to Honda SC a few weeks ago and they wired the car to a laptop and configure the engine settings. This was when i told them my car RPM goes up and down even when i didn't move the accelerator pedal.

Note that this only happens if i try to accelerate, like from 60 to 120 - so i simply step once and leave it - but the RPM kept going up and down like mad like jerking the car - felt no power.

So they tuned the engine.. after that i felt much better driving on D mode. S mode is ok as well, but i still feel underpowered.

A few days later i tried going to high speed, cruising at 110km/h and shifted to S gear and floored (just to test) and it was jerking AGAIN!

It's so noticable when i shifted to S gear, and more noticable if i shift to S and turn on the 7 speed mode.

What the *tut* is wrong with my Honda.

I'm going to send this baby again to SC after next month salary. Cheh!

However, FC drops now, before if i fill RM70 can onli run up to 380km. Now RM50 can go near to 400km thumbup.gif

at least i can save money there. But i dont dare to step on it anymore, later rosak more money liaw sad.gif

ures a vtech or idsi?

Sorry for your issue man,.. hmm.. b4 the issue came, did you usually floored the car on the road? play alot with the 7speed?

im a little worried, coz i usually punch in the 7spd mode whenever i want to overtake cars.. and turn them off when I get back in lane.. can this damage the CVT and 7speed??? shakehead.gif

real worried loooor like ure case... sad.gif

Well, I'm not expert, but base on what you wrote, I think mostly is your CVT gearbox got problem liao. Did you change your CVTF every 20000km?

My advice is, if your City still under warranty, go claim for it before the warranty expired or it is going to cost you about RM27000 for that CVT gearbox~

Good luck~

Heh.. told you so.. nice rite? you feel a slight boost when you revert to s-mode.. thumbup.gif Use wisely.. brows.gif

S-mode is quoted as the 'sports' mode as it lets the engine rev higher before each transmission variance. In other words, your engine boost more power for each change in the transmission compared to D-mode.. In the CT manual, its called the 'second' gear

L-mode is the low-gear mode, forgot the characteristics thou, but this also lets the engine rev higher (?).. mostly used to climb steep slopes/hill/mountain roads where std gears arent revving enough.. its not designed for speed but to deliver maximum torque and power for climbing..

Ongratulations on a very well made investment. rclxms.gif
Sparkle Grey is imho the best piece of engineering masterpiece, considering how spectacular a car can look & feel, even when it's in P Mode... tongue.gif
I am new to this thread as well, so, welcome. notworthy.gif
U mentioned the SA handled the tinting?
It would be good to make sure it is really V-Kool Elite, just my 2 cents worth.
Enjoy ur new ride, i believe u will love it. nod.gif

Wah, notorius, u really live up to ur name, huh... notworthy.gif
Same kinda kick here drool.gif
But wouldn't it be more assuring if the SA is male?
No disrespect, but do they really know wat they are talking about? hmm.gif
Wat bout if the SA himself / herself doesn't drive a Honda to begin with... hmm.gif
Would they really know wat sort of experience we should look forward to?
Any comments? icon_idea.gif

Added on October 27, 2007, 11:31 amBy the way, any one knows if we should start driving off if the Cold Temp Indicator is still ON? hmm.gif
I noticed the petrol gauge tends to lower when I start my VTEC & the indicator's on... icon_question.gif
Summore the RPM is slightly over 1,500... icon_question.gif

Ah.. I see.. Last time I thought that S mode would only go to the first two gears whereas L mode uses the first gear only laugh.gif laugh.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif doh.gif doh.gif So S mode is still capable to go up to like the 5th gear and so right? Whenever I activate steermatic I'll feel a slight jerk, is it normal? Oh and, if I activate steermatic, but I don't shift (as in, keep it auto, not manual), any difference with the steermatic off? huh.gif

the difference in L and S mode is:

when you are in L mode, your 1st and 2nd gear will go higher RPM, should change gear at 4000-4500rpm instead of in D Mode it will change gear around 2200rpm

when you are in S mode, your 3rd and 4th gear will go higher RPM, should change gear at 4000-4500rpm instead of in D Mode it will change gear around 2200rpm

Ah, I see.. So after 1st and 2nd for L, and 3rd and 4th for S, the gear change would be at normal RPM? and basically L is for uphill and S for..acceleration? flex.gif

Mine is an IDSI. I bought this car 2nd hand a few months ago. Upon buying, i didn't notice this jerks as i was driving slow. But immediately notice it after i tried (and unfortunately it was after the warranty period which those damn 2nd hand dealers gave just for a short period of time).

I heard one of the SC agent advising a City owner to punch the 7speed mode when overtaking for more power. If the SC advise so, i should think no problem. It does gives you more power / slight pickup.

No warranty anymore. Just changed the CVTF a few weeks ago @ Honda SC. As i said, they tuned the engine and it was ok for a while. But happened again. Maybe the car's memory 'forgot' the settings again? Or just couldn't learn my driving style?

Anyway going to SC next month to check this again. This time should i go to the same SC or to another one?
