Ohh...u also plan to buy nighthawk black ar...Cool n looks sporty rite v tis color. hehe! actually i also got think i-dsi b4 but i-dsi juz 88hp n rear break is drum break wo. Any more other diff in 3rd gen VTEC n I-dsi???
*
Whats the price range of a 04 vtec CT ah? did any survey?

yeah.. just 88bhp.. but.. but.. fuel consumption is better tongue.gif thats my point!

but really man, if i got a little more budget, surely i go for vtec.. no compromise.

one thing i like abt honda is that they dont treat their lower line models so cheap, like other makes.. frm what i know, the only main diff for 3rd gen CT is just only the Vtec engine, rims, disc brakes, cd/mp3 player (correct me if im wrong). they really dont cut out on the 'important' stuff like a/bags and abs.. summore the 3rd gen oso hv steermatic as u said..

so if u prefer an idsi (like me nod.gif ) you wont be feeling left out like driving a 'cheapest' honda CT.. imho laa...

At kuching, mostly we go honda punya showroom there ask for 2nd hand car. las time i asked a AUG 04 city idsi gen3, for 58k.
then me n my dad do comparison la, the new 1 and old 1, old is 3.98% new 1 is 2.28%. actually u pay abit more n loan more 2 years u can use new car, so decided buy new car loh. Now waiting for nighthawk black.. haha.. i think la.. u loan for around that price for juz more 2 years, u get 2 drive a new car, would have a better 2nd hand value. Dat's wat i think la.. correct me if i'm wrong. u never know when u kenak toto and change car one.. haha..
old 1 is loan 5 years, new is 7 years.
*
Actually new CT you can get for as low 2.0% interest (4th gen), but new FL only can get abt 2.2%... i chked last week.. oso comes with abt RM1.5K discount..

of course newer car better value.. but my monthly pay dont got any value lorr sweat.gif i'm maxed at 3.82% @ 7yrs 2004 idsi/vtec ride... if up summore surely gonna makan pasir, batu, and rumput. Too much financial commitment nowadays tongue.gif

58K for an Aug 04 idsi is quite good.. But really can ask Honda Showrooms for 2nd hand cars ah? if like that better ask showroom.. hmmm why didnt i thot of that b4...? stoopid me..

indeed heard a lot abt this.. can anyone tell me how to "get a good chk on the CVT gbox"? send to SC is out of question coz havent bought yet rite? How can I make sure when Test-driving? is there any fluid indicators? any form of way the car drives if CVT rosak? jerking when shifting? cannot shift? etc?

really don want to be conned by these 2nd car dealers / owners.. rclxub.gif

why not just buy a new 4th Gen? 4th Gen I-dsi still got steermatic.. only the new FL dont got one... interest at 2.1% sumore..

i'd recommend a thorough inspection and service at Honda Service Centre for used car purchases, then following services you can just continue servicing it outside which is a lot cheaper but for the transmission, make sure you use genuine honda cvt fluid..

Fasap, whr did u get tat info?? u went to honda showroom?? thanks!!!  biggrin.gif

I mean the 4th gen b4 this whole new facelift sh1t.. the 2006 models.. i-dsi all got steermatic.. and honda still selling em.. lower interest rates than new 4th gen facelift (2.3%).. and lesser waiting time compared to new FL versions.. some may take up to 2-3mths!

yep.. went to honda showroom in puchong.. but didnt ask much.. coz no money tongue.gif

SC could not detect any issue with the CVT...

FL is face lift ah... getting I-DSi version loh, save the money to tint, add strut bar, hopefully rims.. hehe... the honda guy say need 2 wait, around raya or after raya.. i guess mine is the new 1 gua.. the old 1 no stock liao i think.

yo FASAP, new facelift idsi got RM1.5k discount ah? sudah discount in car price liao ah? or need 2 ask? the guy juz discount RM300 for tinting.

Added on October 7, 2007, 1:53 amaarex, i personally think la, if u wanna buy 2nd city, go honda there ask 1st.  Get a new car la, even when u sell also higher value, who know u will kenak jackpot. haha..
*
new facelift think dun hv the discount.. not sure.. the discount you hv to ask the SA lorr.. try to bug him around..

the 4th gen pre-FL one i think got the discount, maybe to clear out stock.. so depends on the SA or showroom you go.. coz each maybe got different strategy.. some might give discounts on v-kool tinting.. some might give cash discounts.. so better ask the SA thoroughly.. but when u already sign the agreement and such, surely the SA's wont entertain you much icon_idea.gif

anyways... whole day went hunting for a Nighthawk Black 2003 or 2004 idsi CT... I FOUND NONE! shakehead.gif rclxub.gif scoured 2nd hand dealers in Selayang, Jalan Kuching, Jalan Ipoh, Batu Caves but to no avail.. called adverts in mototrader also to no avail, all sold out!!?? really damn hard to find 2nd hand black CT's mad.gif !! black CT really hot stuff ah?....but the maroon, gold, silver colors bersepah!

So you are saying not worth it la ?? I found 1.7k for the VKool offered by Honda very pricey sweat.gif Now considering City over the new VIOS now though... Comment ??
*
Hmm.. like notorius said, you can get aftermarket kits for arnd rm900, arnd 2K with paint+installation, A lot more models/shapes to choose frm.. but it all comes down to your preference.. if you feel safer with original modulo kits and hv the money.. then by all means go for the ori-modulo, but if youre on a tight budget and got nothing to spare, then better get the aftermarket one to save 2-3K of your muney.. just me 2 cents.. it all up to you..

New Vios and current City?.. ofF-course if you ask here, ppl will say go for the city.. smile.gif Im a Vios to City convert myself.. i thot that vios's looks were damn appealing compared to the some-what peculiar CITY design.. but i came to grow fond of it in time.. summore for the same price range of both cars

- CITY may be better technology+safety wise imho.. the base CT idsi (79K) has dual Airbags, 7speed semi-auto/steermatic, CVT, but lacks the pick-up power of the vios's VVT-i engine (88bhp compared to 1xxbhp).. but compared to a V-tec.. its another story.. summore idsi is a quite the fuel saver rite?

- The NEW Vios 1.5E real basic model (78K), only has driver air-bags, and normal 4speed auto transmission, summore same engine as previous generation vios (1NZ-FE). the looks now seem to be CITY-ish (bloating front, slender rear).. so looks factor also out tongue.gif you only get the real deal at the 1.5G and 1.5S which are 85K and 88K respectively.. with this you can already get a CT vtech (85K).. better p4mance, better technology... imho

FYI, i am not bashing toyota. i am just merely doing some comparison, which is biased to the CT. tongue.gif Goodluck on getting a new car! im just stuck with buying a 2nd CT.. whistling.gif

*
Just back frm another City testdrv... I got a deal on this 2004 idsi CT, with mileage only 20,810km!! with complete honda service records (last service July 2007), smooth flawless engine, for RM57800... is this a reasonable price?? but this one silver loorrr... nice plate no too W** 9966 sweat.gif what you guys think??

Yup.. tried to kaw-tim to 57K.. but no can do lerr.. coz the dealer said low mileage and car in damn good condition.. just minor scratches on the body and rims due to 3yrs of wear & tear.. other than that, flawless.. think im gonna go book this one fast smile.gif

my choice also 1st black.. then silver.. but considering this car's mileage and condition.. hmm... hmm.gif then again, 2nd black CT's are too hard to find...

had great time with the steermatic function.. floored the car until reach 7speed gear.. damn nice.. woohoo.. smooth transmission all the way! CVT is damn nice! much better than my brother's vios 4speed smile.gif just love the transmission w/out the occasional jerking..

Youre absolutely correct.. on friday i called this used car dealer abt his black 03 idsi (v-kool, xenon lights, 66K km done).. went there yesterday morning.. sold already.. damn fast.. Black CT are real hot-cakes... and vios are also hard to find..

nope.. no mechanic loo.. just some advice i get frm CT owners here and there.. then i judge my self.. NVH, acceleration, engine vibration, handling comfort, CVT smoothness, etc..

so u decided on a new or 2nd CT bro??? icon_idea.gif

Congratulations to ur new ride ya!!! Oh ya, the insurance, puspakom test fee and change ownership fee all how much huh?? smile.gif
*
lemme see.. the dealer quoted me this:

Financier: Hong Leong Bank

Interest rate (7yrs): 3.4-3.5% (max)

Inspection fees (Puspakom + Finance inspection): RM200

Change ownership fees: RM400

Processing fees (finance-dealer): RM450

For insurance, my NCD is 0 coz b4 this using xtra family car only, so this is my 1st car insurance: RM1800+-

So you need extra RM2K la to actual selling price...

dunno the actual fees price range.. but are these fees to expensive???

The higher cost may be due to your financing bank sourcing runners to get the procedures done.
I can't recall, but I think puspakom inspection is about RM60-80 only..
Change ownership fees, provided the roadtax is still valid.. should be RM100 post-cash (wang pos)..
*
CRAP!

you mean this whole load of fees are bsh1t???

ok, puspakom RM77 me thinks, dunno abt the finance inspection.. is there really a 'finance car inspection'?

road tax still valid, so shuld be arnd RM100 wang post? so if cost greater than this i'm being conned rite?

what abt the processing fees...? is there such a thing as bank processing fees?

damn! must be the SA marking up his personal profit!!

nearly got conned... doh.gif doh.gif

any ideas how i can counter this? should i stand up to this SA?

really want this low mileage CT.. the car is really a gem! damn good tiptop condition.. cry.gif

if i were you, i would call the financing bank for details instead..
a few months back i acquired a used car, but since i did not apply for a loan there weren't really any miscellaneous fees involved.

only trouble was doing some running around to the post office and JPJ (the seller sent the car for puspakom inspection and fees were beared by him, i was only told to prepare the RM100 wang pos, which i purchase from the post office - i'm not entirely sure but i think that's the only cost involved for vehicle name transfer at JPJ).

I did a check on Hong Leong Bank's Website and found this:
"15. Is there any hidden fee?

No. However, there is a JPJ transfer fee and runner fee, ranging from RM240 to RM300."

If i'm not mistaken, my friend who recently bought his used civic also paid a good sum for the vehicle transfer procedure through the financing bank. So i'm guessing the higher cost you are paying is because the bank is sourcing runners to get the job done on behalf of the bank.

IMO, since you are happy with the vehicle, the extra few hundred of hassle is worth it smile.gif
*
Thanks for he info dude... i think theyre using these runners to do their job.. Will try and clarify with the finance itself abt this. nod.gif

*
ok.. will do.. icon_rolleyes.gif

but as you said, "...before you commit yourself to signing those papers for that low-mileage city 3rd gen".. are you implying that there's sumthing fishy abt this car?

Did getting a 2nd hand city worth it ?? Put away those "common" issues that you may found on a 2nd hand car, talking about on the price alone, the interest is so high that there is no different between getting a new or a 2nd hand. I did the survey a while back ago and ends up I gave up on the 2nd hand city idea.
*
Not really.. as some say the difference btwn paying for a new CT and a 2nd CT is around 100-200.. to some people this might be not much, but for other groups of people, 100-200 is so much needed to ease off other burdens each month(children, health, etc). If youre a young bachelor owning 2K++ who lives with your parents and got no other commitments in life other than partying and hangging out wit friends, 800-900 a month wont be a bother to you...

Some people also want to at least use a decent quality car, a one worth putting your hard earned money into, rather than cheap new cars that lack safety, comfort, build quality... even if they have to go buy 2nd hand ones. Even some old 2nd hand cars are far much better and need much less maintanence than a few new cars... imho. its not that i say a CT has top notch quality, but when compared, even a 2003 CT has a more comfortable interior that a brand New Hyundai Getz for the same price.

QUOTE(F1meteor @ Oct 8 2007, 11:50 AM)
i get my 2nd hand city at the price of RM56 500.

some details:
Car year: 2005 Feb
Colour: Black
Engine: Vtec
Mileage: 27k km

Everything is fine with minor scratches in the driver side.
Car paint condition is not excellent. But still ok la.

Then those charges as you had listed down is almost the same.
The total price I have to pay is almost RM60k including insurance.

I got free tint and free carpet.

I bought my car on June 2007.

Hope this helps you.

added mileage
*
whoaa! a 2005 Vtec for 56500?? nice catch bro.. really hard to find that kinda deal. The dealer/owner desperate ka? damn nice. the actual 2nd hand market price for such car is much higher around 65K rite? you saved nearly 10K. rclxms.gif

yeah, ive double chked with some other car dealers, and their processing fees and such came back the same, more or less.. i think that's the only way car 2nd hand car dealers can survive with the current market today..

the best way to avoid this is to settle loan on your own.. ah well..
