QUOTE(neato4u @ Oct 31 2007, 02:19 PM) The SC mechanic told me a bit about shift lock. We use it if the City gear get jammed (meaning you can't change gear). To use this releasing feature, use your Honda City key (the one with immobilizer) and insert it to the small slot beside your gear. Once inserted, the gear will free up - releasing Shift Lock. its actually for ppl who cant start their engine... when you did not start your engine, you cant change from P to N... so you put the key into that hole and you'll be able to change P to N... then start pushing your car to service center...

as far as i know, there are no temperature indication it will only appear when is is overheated. otherwise no signs.
7speed mode : when u in D mode, press the "7 speed mode" at your steering. then u can control it by pressing up and down. this manual mode doesnt work in N or P gear. to off : press the "7 speed mode" again.
Note: stupid function la ~ i dont think anyone use it in daily driving

QUOTE(kousou @ May 25 2008, 02:41 PM) but when i went to test drive the car b4 i bought it...the SA tells me to change the gear to S b4 using the 7speed mode...so is it true we need to change to S gear first or we can straight use it wit the D gear??? straight can use with D u cant 100% control the gear coz it is computerized to shift up when rpm too high , and vice versa. (so that you wont burn the engine)

QUOTE(black_rider @ May 25 2008, 03:14 PM) Got my VTEC for 5 months already but only use the 7 Speed twice. But the 7-Speed is useful when you climb hill. You can adjust the speed so that you can climb with more power. That's what I think the good side of 7-Speed. On normal road, there's really nothing special about it. let say u climbing cameron highland or genting, they have so many curves its hard to concentrate on shifting it manually and turning steering at the same time. want power when climbing ? i use S.. ~~ i never use L before... ( already 1.5 years driving )

QUOTE(black_rider @ May 25 2008, 07:03 PM) According to my SA, using S when climbing hill will waste a lot more petrol. Not sure how true is that. How's your FC these 1.5 years? Mine average 15 cents per KM (city driving) Highest I can go is only 450KM. i never bother calculating FC but the meter shown 14.9 km/l S logically will consume more petrol. coz it rev higher before shifting up.
