 BP Healthcare Dato "sickening doing sick stuff"

BP healthcare recently implemented a new policy when taking breaks, so staffs need to break in and break out thru the mobile app on their phone.
A few months ago, some staffs were paid lesser than usual due to technical issues or pressing the wrong option when break in or out.



The victim submitted a request for reimbursement to BP dato instead of HR. This was a private and confidential issue between the victim and the dato, but he forwarded the email to all the staffs in BP. Not only he shamed the victim, called her names, he also forwarded her payslip to everybody. After this incident, more than 150 staffs (30% of the total staffs) also appealed stating having payslip issues and dato said “Is sickening doing sick stuff”. If so many staffs are having issues, maybe management is the issue.

Recently he called his senior graphic designer "Kong the Dump" and the forward the email to all the staff.

They are very unethical one

One lady was head of HR/ legal/ customer service etc but she was doing paper work like preparing offer letter

They save cost this way
They dont hav a proper HR team one

The Boss even called the accountant dirt in fron of all the colleagues

He has no respect for ppl one

He will scream at the top of his lungs

His kids work for him too

Looks like he's very trigger happy with the red fonts, bolded and enlarged font size. Normally when I send email I also lazy to format them, kudos to this guy for exercising those finger muscles just to demean others.

Actually for this company, you will need to submit claim with dato. He makes the decision not HR. So i think he has plenty of time, don't worry.

No need to BS lah. MNC has good benefits thats a fact i agree with you.. But no way MNC will give good bonus this i can guarantee you . When i say good bonus meaning 6-12 months bonus. You can only get this bonus in cinaman company. What i can tell you lah, those big successful chinese bosses who made it in life not by being nice to people lah. I have noticed 1 trend in cinaman companies, the bosses are always rude and seem like they dont care about their staff, but thats just how they are. Thats how they made it big in life. Not by being a pandan and trying to please and make all his staff happy. But what i can guarantee is that , cinaman companies believe in loyalty. If the boss sees that you are loyal and trustworthy, you will be rewarded big time.

Someone told me they are riding high in KKM. During the first MCO, Perkeso sponsored tests could only be done in BP labs. Yup, five clinics in Selangor to cater for all going back to work during phases 1-3 of MCO. I suspected they had helang in KKM looking out for them.

Any truth in that?

Bp health care always give fake results when hospital send things for testing. Their chain of custody damn cacat. Also their equipment use is some cheap kindergarden stuff. Cannot do more than 4 decimals. Other than that. Alot of test still use blood rather than pcr.

Cacat company stuck in 1980s.

I agree, if you not family you are expendable no matter how much you sacrifice your time, come early to work and go back late. Take long leave also can call you back anytime, yes, they reward you when you make profit for them, give you bonus to keep you long long but scold you like dog, knowing you will never leave them.

Last time I worked with a equipment company, doing blood tests and what not. So obviously bp lab is a potential client.

So when we liaise with our jalan counterpart because our machine is hitachi (Japan, duh). The representative specifically mentioned this to us “Dato xxx is a pathological liar. He always claims to have xxx machine and lowball us for better price”

Fukken lol.

Also, I used to work for BP Lab Ipoh branch as well. There are things they asked me to do that is OUTSIDE of my job scope which originally I don't mind doing but it was borderline... I can't tell. The work environment there is toxic. One co worker yelled at me (I was a fresh grad then) and no discipline issue was given to her. I still remember her surname as Mah and trying to find her in Facebook ever since. We have unfinished business, Mah. I also remember the Indian uncle who does nothing but do blood count all day. He is okay and generally keeps to himself. I talked to somebody from Abbott. he told me this Dato has a reputation that is hard to work with.

A medical officer friend of mine worked for them and was scouted with a better offer suitable with his expertise

Funny thing is, considering his services and achievements BP lab dont even counter offer

I guess they figure that its best they just fish for new target to replace his position, bunch of scammers i’d say

Those in similar industry would know this company has bad rep since way before covid era, must be a miracle they survive !

everything's miles apart from SME/chinaman companies... benefits, culture, people, your job responsibilities are accurate to the JD, etc.

even if recruiter call me, i normally ask what company.. normally will reveal upon request. 90% of the time are SME/chinaman small companies.

most MNC normally wont opt with recruitment companies.. they know hundreds of people will apply. so they just wait and interview the ones they see fit.. rather than PAYING recruitment companies to capture the talented people around.

so in order to get into MNC you need put effort to hunt it yourself. be more active in searching for it.. got opportunity then just apply and try.

years back i requested an extensive blood and hormonal panel incl. ls/ms/ms ultra sensitive roche estradiol (siemens, cant remember) etc etc.

utter bullshit charge by the thousands when i can dhl and get results online at 20% the cost. (without shipping, thats beside the point)

I've worked with a lawyer who previously work under their legal department before joining my ex-company

The lawyer quit after a month cause cannot tahan all the sketchy stuff they did/ keep trying to find loopholes and grey area

Blood test and health test in Gov memang ada la.. u just need to pay for it and make an appointment.

Just the slow and longer time needed because now covid its hard to do it all are busy

Covid test kits are majority pcr. Blood test have a longer window period. I'm not sure what bplab use. But I would assume pcr.

Most labs in malaysia quite cacat actually. Old equipment, bad custody and lousy technicians. But that's cause everything is cheap and everyone lowly paid.

Usually Good private clinics send to overseas to do. Cost about 600 to few k for simple test only.

But locally out of all, gribbles is the best. But not all test available. Some in-house hospital test also ok. Pantai gleneagles.

most MNC normally wont opt with recruitment companies.. they know hundreds of people will apply. so they just wait and interview the ones they see fit.. rather than PAYING recruitment companies to capture the talented people around.

so in order to get into MNC you need put effort to hunt it yourself. be more active in searching for it.. got opportunity then just apply and try.

especially that part where the KPI for doctors is 'how many health & wellness plans you managed to sign up from your patients?'.

yeah sure they are the cheapest labs around, but we rather go to gribbles anyway if govt. isn't available.

this chinaman company was lucky that he was one of the pioneer private lab companies that got the license early....

No I don't serve them directly. But their factories are my companys customers. You hear stories from ppl who work there about their big bosses attitude. This i agree, about 8 years ago, the doctor was taking my blood and trying to sell some extra packages. Still rmb my colleague work in BP lab (IIRC, should be 6 years ago), the starting salary just 1.8k for degree holder biggrin.gif
Day day complain about the working culture and environment because too toxic
Everyday need OT and the OT paid is very low too
Most of the staff at there need to do OT to earn more for their salary too

Yea they are being backed. During the first MCO when businesses were gradually allowed to open, govt mandated Perkeso sponsored tests could only be done in BP Labs. Five clinics iirc in whole Of Selangor to cater for the returning work force.

Again I refer to the facts.

Perkeso sponsored tests were done exclusively at BP labs. Even when govt opened up to companies to choose other providers it was pay first and claim later, BP labs was still the "panel" lab. Not to mention their app endorsed by KKM

Now sekarang anda kerajaan. Why not do something about it. What with ppl exposing here their shoddy practices and obsolete lab tech. What have you done or are you so low on the org chart you don't even know where Garvy Beh is much less touch him.

Yes, I send my workers to KPJ , the test was conducted by doctors. Also sent to BP before, before this had to go to queue at 7am otherwise it would very long queue. I went to their Klang branch and like what you said, the put a table in front of neighbouring shop to do the swab test and the tests was conducted by ordinary staff.

I didn't clash with anyone, but I saw myself all the horribly thing that people mentioned in this forum. I left the company after 2 months and they threaten to sue me to compensate them 6 months’ salary because of clause 7 on the letter of appointment.

It was 10 years ago but I still feel obligate to expose them so other didn't fall into the trap. So I upload the offer letter and letter of appointment that they require all employee to sign.

This means BP will die-die not confirm you until 6 months is up, hence you can't do jack shit unless you really have money for compensation. And then if you do get confirmed, you need to stay another 6 months or else vomit back EVERYTHING you have been paid previously.

Honestly I am surprise there has been no complains about this to the Labour office until today....

Initially was sympathetic towards them for losing a child. Nobody hopes such tragedy to befall on anyone.

However now I know why many people have no good words towards this Chinaman company. That clause 7 really unfair and a modern day slavery. This is truly a Chinaman company. Taking advantage of people's desperation, and being vague until people "upcar" or siong cheh in Cantonese. Meaning conned people to join their company.

I wonder how many they have conned and succeeded in milking money out of desperate people ..

thanks for sharing. even if it was 10 years ago, it's good to know. i still keep my offer letters from my first company(the stupidest company so far) in case things like that happen, and i have some scar marks to show for it. haha. indeed, there are useless human beings out there. the longer you work/the more company you work for, higher chance of you meeting them.

my principal was from japan - toshiba. he came down to meet us and do some field visits.

when we spoke abt BP lab, his first words were "dato beh is a compulsive liar"

huh u guys never heard of such contracts apart from this?

if u quit before xx years then u need to compensate xxk amount because of the training provided.
I heard if they want to enforce it they need to prove that the training provided is indeed worth that much. which is a little hard to prove , and also usually training isnt really worth that much anyway, which course costs 1 year employee salary??

also, They cannot use it to penalize you, but can recoup costs incurred to train you etc . please correct me any lawyers?

That one usually applies on study contract, further studies, advancement certificate stuff and it's separate contract to sign one. Not bind in offer letter, employment letter.

although whether legally enforceable or not im not sure. because its quite unfair, you train someone so that he can do the job better. plus, what kind of training costs 1 year of an employee's pay? if its that expensive then the employee pay should be high pay not pay someone 2k but ask him to attend a 24k course , doesnt make sense.

unless he really kns , quit immediately upon completing the training, e.g company sponsor external paper but you cabut after getting it using company money. on the other hand, actually your company already benefitted a bit because when you are studying for external papr you can apply the knowledge to your work already.

any HR or lawyer got experience dealing with the above?

I joined 2 American companies after left BP. First company given 2 months sign on bonus, mean I get 2 bunos once accept the offer. The sign on bonus was bank in to my account together with first month salary. That is 12 months condition attached to the sign on bonus. So if resign after 6 months then I need to return 1 month sign on bonus back to company. I think this fair.

Second American company sent me to Ireland for 3 months training. Business class flight to Ireland plus fantastic accommodation. That is 1 year bond for the training. So if company spent total 120K for my trip to Ireland and I resign after 11 months then I need to pay back 10K. This is also fair.

This 1 for every employee. Takkan every employee needs training until bonded?

This is recoup salary + any costs incurred.

You guys think too much. The clause is there just to scare the employee to think twice before resigning. It is not enforceable. The one who share the letter already say he never pay back anything.
