seems like unifi didn't want to give me the staywithunifi package.

anyhoo. i've decided to wait for maxis fibre to be available at my new area, then i use my old unifi contract to change to maxis and relocate to my new address later on.

the part where it gets complicated is -

24/1 unifi port open at new address
3/2 i apply 30mbps unifi upgrade from streamyx - port full , celaka.
4/2 i apply with another agent, also same case port full.
5/2 i apply with TM online - address unavailable
6/2 out of nowhere, tmpoint staff nearby my house called me ask want upgrade or not, i said i get port full issue, u can settle?
8/2 confirmed installation for tomorrow.

i guess the district TM point must have more control over the port compared to HQ itself? or there is some hanky panky going on behind this?
*
I heard HQ won't know any status of progress if district TM didn't update anything into system.

Don't worry, it's just a bug in the firmware.
To be sure, you can check here www.dnsleaktest.com

No worry, you will be connected to 1.1.1.1 or 8.8.8.8 depends on what you set in the LAN IPv4 section there. WAN will shown ISP default DNS.

i did go out my back alley and check, there is at least 6 ports used already. there's about 20 houses in two rows sharing that DP.

im not surprised if the 8 ports were fully use as everybody is fighting to subscribe for unifi since a year ago as we are all stuck here with streamyx especially during MCO period.

either way. bought my own TP LINK AX73, set up a permanent free-for-life VPN to singapore, and then just set TV to permanently connect to that VPN for netflix. now i can watch without headache.

gatal bought turkey netflix account which cost RM18/month for the top tier plan, but geo-blocked in malaysia.

If port full, Unifi will use splitter method at FDP. The same thing happen to my other neighbour who are late in getting Unifi.

that doesn't sounds very convincing, i mean in term of quality of service. i hope it won't screw the connection up in long run if that was the case.

It's a standard to split the fiber. That's why they used gpon. 1 port can split up to hundred of devices.

Hi..looking for some suggestion for whether need to relocate my unifi modem from 1st floor to ground floor! This is due to i need to connect my CCTV to Lan Cable(to watch online with apps) and my alarm to my fixed telephone line (in order to call my hp when the alarm is trigger) which i didn't aware when i install my unifi till the cctv guy told me! I am worry if the modem put at the ground floor my dekstop and my tv box will no longer as smooth as now!
*
can pull lan & phone cable from cctv at ground floor to unifi modem & router at 1st floor, or can pull 1 lan cable from ground floor to 1st floor if you want allocate the router to ground floor

You will need to subscribe always free service and create vm in oracle cloud.

Openvpn free license allows 2 free connection.

Then some basic knowledge in Linux will help and port forwarding in vm will do the rest.

Need to fight for quota in the oracle cloud though.

I managed to get 2 vm running, single core arm and dual core arm processor.

Both can reach up to 130mbps up/down symmetrically.

U can create up to 4 core arm processor, 24gb ram, enough space to install everything, 10tb network downstream per instances.

My billing was out, and confirm got free voice STD20... who need free call services can try to ask as what I been told by the TM point staff if customer got request STD20 their might just add for u for free.
This is a very good example of TM's billing mess.

Need to request for this and that. Some get it some don't get it. His plan is different yours and he gets the better deal.

TM is the very example of Malaysian transparency and favoritism culture. It's a billing nightmare because there is no fairness and uniformity in their plans.

I would stay away from subscribing anything TM for as long as I ever can.

TM telemarketer call me today. They offer me 50mbps for RM99. Only 20mbps increase from my current package. Request 100mbps for the same price, no luck. Will I have any luck to get RM99 100mbps if visit TM point?

If your contract ended, you can request for "StaywithUnifi" package, RM99 100Mbps.
You can also go to TM Point to try to request, if your contract ended, the chances to get it is pretty high.
If you still under contract, go to TM point try to flirt or act kesian abit with the staff see if they can help. icon_idea.gif
imho, 50Mbps for RM99 is not worth it.
