Thanks for the suggestion. Will do that. BTW, are you enjoy using the router? If you asked me, the only thing that potong stim for me is the @unifi suffix, unless you hide the ssid and manually connect to the wireless network.
*
I don't use it. Or more like I can't use it.

My friend gave it to me since his house is too small to benefit from mesh setup.
But that forced @unifi suffix makes it impossible to join my existing AP channels (for same ssid roaming). So that router just sitting around until I obtain the factory firmware or figure out how to remove that suffix.

But honestly that router config page is horrible. What's up with that weird ass workflow layout?
It's like the ui designer won a competition for the most inconvenient ui or something.

How much is it for 800mbps plan you subscribed?

Hopefully that new plan will make 800mbps and below plan price go lower.  thumbup.gif

Well you can't expect much from a cheap router. ISP's tend to cut cost kaw kaw as, they know not many will keep using their supplied router. Heck even when the installer visited to my place last week to upgrade my equipments to support 800Mbps, when they saw me using ASUS router, they was clearly wow'ing fiberhome router more powerful than the asus I am using currently. Even when they see my using ZenWiFi AX Mini as my AiMesh node, they insisted me to use fiberhome as they claim, 'powerful router from tm'. Can't blame the installer as they're doing their job promoting to use tm's router. You can't expect a good UI layout or professional feature workflow from a company that milks consumer with different packaging price for the same speed.

A glitch perhaps? you are on 100mbps subscription aren't you? I am still at around 100mbps speed from several tests done minutes ago.
*

been a few days already, full speed i still can download at 15MBPS

even my upload is faster than 50Mbps

how do you upgrade to get that price? I thought now 500mbps already RM199 for SWU and 800mbps should be more.

I am currently using the D-Link 842 that Unifi supplied a few years back for the Turbo upgrade. My subscription is 800mbps but the fastest I ever get is 250Mbps.

So I might as well ask TM to come and replace the Dlink 842 with the FiberHome router then?

Thanks bro. I don't have any WiFi 6 equipments for now. The AX20 should be able to reach 800mbps for the older WiFi 5 phones and tablets rite?

Why you need 800mbps if you never use it? If downgrade cheaper than go for 500mbps.

I have about 18 equipments (CCTV, smart TV, ATV box, stick, phones, tablets , laptop etc connected at one time. I had to split the load into 2 more APs using my old Dlink 850l and TPlink AC12000 routers from TM which were the previous upgrades TM did over the years. Furthermore my plan is RM209 with the calls and Ultimate Pack thrown in. So downgrading yo 500Mbps might end up costing more 😁

If you are looking for long-term solution, including getting constant firmware updates, feature-rich worth of investment on a router say for the next 3 years, supported by third-party firmware like RMerlin's, then go for ASUS only. I don't suggest any other brand than ASUS to people. Avoid any -Link router brand, esp D-Link. And renewing contract just to get free ISP router aren't worth it. Fiberhome WiFi 6 router is just decent for home use, that doesn't mean it is secure incase if there is severe CVEs identified. My advice, go for ASUS, start to survey from RT-AX53U, RT-AX55U, RT-AX56U (im using currently)......, GT-AXE11000.

P/S: I don't use any of ASUS's signature features like AiProtection, Traffic Analyzer, et cetera due to data collection. I use custom scripts that fits my needs.

Hello! Is anyone having issues with Samsung SmartThings again?

I am unable to connect to my washer when I am connected to Wi-Fi, but when I switch to 4G the app instantly connects to the smart things server, even though my washer is connected to the same Wi-Fi

I’m using Google dns, on iPhone

Don't think older phones and tablets can reach 800mbps on Wifi. Are those high end phones like having 2x2 wifi?

I myself use a RT-AX53u, it's nice and all but it has it's fair share of bugs that need to be worked out

1. Out of box firmware literally has broken PPPoE, you have to sideload file to update it to get it online.
2. Status page shows 4 cores despite only having 2
3. Settings page has options for selecting USB 2 or 3 mode, which this router only has USB2 ports
4. Sometimes the FTP/SMB server hangs itself and the CPU gets stuck at 100% while not responding
5. Installing Download Master on a NTFS drive gets stuck
6. IPv6 DNS is a mess:
Router: set to Pi Hole
Dnsleaktest: Cloudflare?????
Device: says its using Maxis ISP DNS
7. one time 2.4Ghz radio just didnt work

granted this is the lowest end asus on a platform they dont use much (mediatek)

The phones we use are mid range Samsung Galaxy A series. I actually have never seen them reach 800mbps. I just thought with the right router, these phones could hit 800mbps. I could be wrong.

Thank you for this info. It is really helpful. I was looking at the Asus RT-AC86U online today. I think its a much older model but it should be enough for my home for now.

Correct bro.

Also, just to share my experience with Maxis and Astro Broadband telemarketer.....Previously whenever Maxis or Astro Broadband calls to switch, when I mention this price, they used to say they cannot match the price. However, last week the Astro Broadband telemarketer told me that they can offer 800mbps for RM188/month. This does not include free calls or Astro channels. This was the closest I have heard to date.

After i change ax20, that screen show over 500 to 700mbps, speed test over a bit 100mbps, my phone no wifi 6

The goal of ASUS come up with the model to provide budget users to experience their feature-bug-rich features. With the aim of providing affordable router minus a few features, I say it is a good business model thou. No matter how tight I am in terms of budget, I would rather save up some $$ to buy a mid-tier router by avoiding entry-levels from any router brands. Most importantly, supports third-party fw since I am not a big fan of so called 'stock' fw. When you are paying for something, you want to explore all the features offered. Good thing about the brand is, they will try to patch the bugs based on the feedback, which is another advantage point to buy their products.
