Is there a guide to all this? Install Vmware, then ubuntu, then deluge?
*
i am not using VMWare.

Here is the guide and replied your PM:

1. download the ubuntu installation disk image from ubuntu website (in ISO format)
2. burn the image to a CD (bootable)
3. boot your PC from Ubuntu CD
4. once you are in the ubuntu screen, double click install. then the installation started and wait until finish.
5. once you have installed ubuntu, you need to download deluge-torrent from http://download.deluge-torrent.org/index.p....5.5-1_i386.deb
6. once downloaded completed, double the "deluge-torrent_0.5.5-1_i386.deb"
7. Done

I think your getting confused. Either u choose to run Ubuntu as a virtual prog or dual booting it with XP.

If u choose to dual boot. Juz do as philipcs mentioned

If u plan to run it as virtual on XP , follow THIS

ok in all our joy of having stumbled upon a bit torrent client that actually works to overcome tmnet's short-sightedness, has anyone ever wondered if there are tmnet spies monitoring these forums? if they get wind of this, then they may put something in place to ban deluge or something like that. can it be done or am i being paranoid?

yeap tmnet can block deluge if they want.. they only need to block deluge peerid then wallah... deluge will be gone for good... People think that tmnet can block torrent encryption, but actually no. They still cant block torrent encryption. But they can block peerid, so after that even encryption are useless. Deluge n ktorrent can bypass this not becoz they got new type of encryption, but becoz tmnet still didn block their peerid, since this program still new n the fact it for linux so not many user use this program.

I built Deluge on Debian Linux myself, the source code can be modified to change the user agent and peerid to something else.
