Deluge Torrent (www.deluge-torrent.org) can encrypt the FULL STREAM of traffic out of a bt client
*
I wanna know more but the website is not very clear on how the encryption works.
Doesn't it require that other peers also use Deluge in order to maximise the full benefits of this encyption?

Not bad. I used Deluge on Debian , the speeds are wonderful.

Watch out, a Windows version of Deluge is in the making. With full stream encryption smile.gif

tmnet can block deluge if they want.. they only need to block deluge peerid then wallah... deluge will be gone for good...
*
I built Deluge on Debian Linux myself, the source code can be modified to change the user agent and peerid to something else.

which file would exactly need tweaking? i would like to try this myself
*
In the source tar, modify 2 files:-

1) deluge-0.5.5\src\deluge_core.cpp
Read here-> http://forum.deluge-torrent.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&p=1784

2) deluge-0.5.5\libtorrent\src\http_tracker_connection.cpp
On line 440, change

m_send_buffer += m_settings.user_agent;

to

m_send_buffer += "<your user agent>";

If I am not mistaken, changing the following should work as well.

File - common.py in the tar ball

PROGRAM_NAME = "Deluge"
PROGRAM_VERSION = "0.5.4.1"

CLIENT_CODE = "DE"

Change to

PROGRAM_NAME = "uTorrent"
PROGRAM_VERSION = "1.7.4.0"

CLIENT_CODE = "UT"
*
You're absolutely right. Changing the py file is better.
Guess i didn't know they put the values there.. biggrin.gif

Once deluge becomes mainstream (aka winBlows compatible), it will only be a matter of time till it get throttled. Then we'll be back scouting for genuine VPN providers that could provide us with a decent speed. Darn

Actually I also read on uTorrent forums that they will implement full stream encryption in near future versions. That concerns me more since there are much more UT users than Deluge users. As more and more UT users upgrade their clients, TMNut will notice the huge increase in unidentified traffic and start implementing some countermeasures.

For those who upgrade and compile themselves on linux,
do you uninstall fully first or compile and reinstall over existing version?
