Can I create a 4gb space to install ubuntu, then make the deluge save the files to another harddisk which is ntfs? Or the files must be saved to the same place as ubuntu?

QUOTE(socratesman @ Sep 12 2007, 07:23 PM) I built Deluge on Debian Linux myself, the source code can be modified to change the user agent and peerid to something else. It's doesn't look like peer id is what that causes the throtthling to fail on Deluge/Ktorrent.I have changed the user agent and peer id for utorrent and still getting crappy downloads. |

Depends on what user agent and peer id you are using..maybe they already know 90% of the user agent and peer id that is normally used.

Of course I modify it to Deluge peer id. It won't make sense otherwise if we think that peer id is the reason why Deluge is working in the first place. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

If you turn on the Shared Folders, you can save it on mnt/hgfs/ if you are running Ubuntu with VMware tools on VMware workstation.

Yes. It's by modifying the hex code since the source code is not available. The peer id and user agent are in ascii strings in the code. Some of them are in unicode strings. You will need to decompress the utorrent executable first though. Luckily utorrent has changed to upx compression so it's easy to decompress their executable. Note: Part of the peer id that are random generated data to differentiate between peers. |

QUOTE(blackamikaze @ Sep 12 2007, 07:14 PM) yeap tmnet can block deluge if they want.. they only need to block deluge peerid then wallah... deluge will be gone for good... People think that tmnet can block torrent encryption, but actually no. They still cant block torrent encryption. But they can block peerid, so after that even encryption are useless. Deluge n ktorrent can bypass this not becoz they got new type of encryption, but becoz tmnet still didn block their peerid, since this program still new n the fact it for linux so not many user use this program. He's right, look @ my speed with no encryption: |

Hi,
Not sure if everyone already know this, but here is deluge for windows (port to windows): http://www.slurdge.org/deluge-on-windows Just download the deluge-0.5.5.95-no-gtk.exe file and installed it on your windows, not sure this can work on vista. From the source it seem to be alpha version, but still can do the job well, so no more vmware hanky-panky. Thanks. |
