Oh no.. been eyeing to subscribe to this plan (while waiting for my unifi port availability). Too bad, currently surviving on hotlink data plan and it's kinda good. I wonder why they do this to maxis one subscribers.

How long did it take? I'm also waiting for news on additional unifi port from my side.

IMO people would only go for this 138 plan if their place has no fiber coverage. Otherwise nobody would go for 4G broadband (since old school copper is slowly dying)

Maxis line is so slow that my umobile GX30 data is faster during 8pm-12am using direct tether via PdaNet.

The TM guy said gonna take at least 2-3 weeks for them to appeal for additional port, even that there is no guarantee they can grant it.

Just sub to maxis go using the zte router.

I find that using zte i speed around 2-7mb only. (Living in quite rural area semenyih)

But when I plug in the sim in my phone I can get around 20mb.

Do I have to change to better router? Sked later spent so much speed still the same

I’d tell you to not count on it. It was fine for me most of January 2021 until around last week. My speed has been terrible since. I’m no longer getting the 2-3 MB/s peak speed I used to get (see my reply on previous page). My Maxis ONE data plan is also heavily throttled. Using my phone’s hotspot results in the same problem. Look at their Twitter page and you can see a lot of angry customers complaining about poor speed on Maxis network across all their plans.

At best, I’m seeing <500kbps lately. At worst (night times), I get what I feel like is 64kbps, which is almost unusable. Imagine waiting for Google logo to load. It feels like living in the stone age. It’s completely unpredictable. I find it difficult to sustain a voice call without lag or stutter and impossible to conduct a video call.

I called Maxis regarding the issue but they played dumb and said they will get the network team to call me back today to troubleshoot due to long call queue but I didn’t receive a call back. I doubt they will admit to throttling their users on the line. After over 10 years with Maxis, I’m now ready to switch my entire family away from it.

See also: Hotlink quietly slows down users to 512kbps after 8pm, blames it on MCO (except it’s not 512kbps and not just Hotlink users).

In the middle of the night around 3am, I tested maxis can peak ard 20+ mbps with no vpn. Most to most also max 30mbps. I use my phone umobile hotspot to PC I peaked 48mbps (using vpn to sg). Location in Klang.

Am also wondering if the ZTE router could be bottlenecking the speed. It doesn't even support 5GHz frequency dafuq. I haven't tried on my huawei portable modem yet.

Middle of the night I can get 15 mbps+ On ZTE.

Idk maybe router prob. Sked to spend so much on better router if it doesn’t really benefit the speed.

Has anyone gone passed the 300GB limit? Can you do a speedtest?

I'm doing a test I think Maxis might be doing another type of throttling but this time for those passed 300gb.

I did these test just after 1am. I cannot seem to get above 10mbps. My data counter according to modem is 312GB.

I wish there was a way for me to identify how much quota I have used through a Maxis application. My router can supposedly report the data usage but it is widely inaccurate.

Your PC/Mobile device has counter that calculates how much data you consume. Unless you're just using one device theres literally no way to accurately calculate the data consumption. The closest you can get is your router.

I've being using maxis GO WIFI 138 since last year august and the connection is good..not until passed 2 weeks ago. its totally terrible and the connection with "green" color signal.

I've tried to call maxis center and asked them to check on the network coverage, but the answer totally unsatisfied. they just me to put the simcard in the phone and check either its working or not... WT*...

I'm loyal customer for Maxis since 2004 and I'm about to switch to other provider if they keep make the customer disappointed..

No, you can use the SIM in any 4G supported devices, eg. Phone, router, MiFi, etc.
You could take the SIM only, and it doesn't have contract.
12 months contract applied if you take the 4G router for RM1.

Guys, I just signed up for this plan on Maxis website. So to my understanding from this thread is that:

It's not really unlimited and it's capped at 300GB, after that it'll be 512Kbps speed until next month's quota renewal?

The ZTE wireless modem has poor signal indoors?
