Hmmm..... interesting..... and here I am at 1.400v already sweat.gif sweat.gif ..... And that's the setting in BIOS!!!!

Hmmmm....... I just found the sweet spot for my Q6600 with the rams...... dunno whether to push the vcore higher... hmm.gif

well...after moving from one C2D to another, found out (more on guts feeling), i'm gonna stuck with this Q6600 G0 for quite some time...so, what the heck, i'll do whatever it takes la...maybe at the end, i will strip down the IHS and let my quad bare-naked. whistling.gif

my previous ip35-e needs 1.51v to stay stable at 3.6ghz.
q6600 vid is 1.275.

hmm, 1.51V is the real voltage after vdrop?
or the bios setting voltage?
coz the IP35-E got around 0.1V vdrop for full load...

mine tested run OCCT stable at 3.6ghz at 1.46V (real), bios set 1.55V
not yet really tune the actual voltage coz i jump form 1.5V to 1.55V directly...

Get better cooling....

Anyway, something is wrong with your OC..... G0 stepping right?

You shouldn't need so high a voltage to OC to 3.0Ghz......

Agree with kmarc, your voltage is to high, mine at 3.2 vcore only 1.325 but the stupid sensor giving me high reading on temp around 59-66c when quad prime.

no, that's vcore in the bios.
the vcore showed in cpuz is 1.42v.
yours look like not better than my q6600. tongue.gif

u need good cooling if u wana OC quad,
mine 3.6ghz max temp only around 52C
but blow with high cfm at room temp...

sure ur quad are better,
coz ur quad VID is 1.275V only,
mine is 1.3125.

mine is running at room temp lar,
no time to bring rig home to test in air con room...

52c is idle or load? and using what software to monitor?

btw, the VID theory is just a theory, it cannot be proven due to the fact that 50% of higher VID chips can oc higher

ooopss ... sorry ... typo .. should be 1.5vcore (in BIOS) hit 77C (main temp in everest .. coretemp shows 73C or so for highest core) .. to reach 3.6ghz @ 400x9 .. hehehehe
my cooler is from previous PC .. scythe ninja .. planning to get better cooler when the $$$ allows me to lorr tongue.gif

currently running daily 3.0 8x375 .. vcore in BIOS 1.275 idling temp 43-44C in coretemp .. load 63C max in coretemp smile.gif

aiseh bro, really sorry coz all my pic gone already when my raid matrix got screwed up doh.gif but i can say that with proper lapping...best to do it on both the proc and hs, u gonna get a good result...how good, that one cannot say la...

52C is full load temperature @ 3.6Ghz,
using gigabyte easy tune to check the temp,
coz the core temp doesnt work out in my vista ultimate 64bit...

Sad to say that mobo software monitoring is never the same as core temp. My easytune5 was off by about 10'c previously with my GA-P35-DS3.

Currently, my smartguardian for the DFI blood iron is off by 12'c from the highest core temp reading.... sweat.gif

The question is, which one to follow...... I follow the highest one though....

oh ooo...
but i think mine would be 60C or above,
coz my TRUE just warm only...
and when I OC, one 16inch table fan blowing on it,
u can imagine the CFM of the air tongue.gif

har gaygaybite's easy tune ar??

i can easily say, add 12c to 15 to that temps. coz gigabyte reads the temp from the middle of the die, and not on the cores sweat.gif
