just went to mypc, i asked their salesman, they already have the G0 in stocks

yummy.....
*
how much r they selling?

QUOTE(arj @ Aug 8 2007, 08:54 PM)
Got myself a G0 earlier today, installed it already. Core Temp and Easy Tune now shows the same temp laugh.gif

Gonna do some overclocking now, see if it's any better than my B3 hmm.gif

**EDIT**

Scrap that, saw the temps wrongly. There's still a 10c difference between the two, it's just that the numbers are lower compared to B3 laugh.gif

At 3Ghz, core temp shows idle around 45c and full load around 55c hmm.gif
*
what cooling r using bro?seems the delta between idle and load is very good...only 10c... thumbup.gif

well...my P35-DQ6 is Quadcore optimized...i'm not sure whether gigabyte means the board or actually the P35 is quadcore optimized...currently running OCCT at 3.4G@1.375v, drooped to 1.344vcore...load temp is around 53-55c...love it...
i'm looking at 3.6G on daily setup...hope can do that...just installed the xigmatek s1283 last nite...the performance, it's far better than my geminiII thumbup.gif

Q6600 with G0 stepping eyh?
Impressive.
*
bro...angkat la the Quad G0...with ur WC setup...hitting a >4G is do-able...4 cores at 4G...last time cannot imagine it...now, it's a achievable...

Standard 2 of Primary School caclulation:
1 Core = 4Ghz
4 Core = 4 x 4 Ghz
= 16Ghz tongue.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif

Hey remy, you should be able to hit 4.0Ghz weith your DQ6...go for it...up the fsb thumbup.gif
*
actually, it has already hit 4G but wif geminiII...now i'm searching the daily running speed...
so far, i can say that the s1283 is better than the geminiII...but unfortunately, i don have the figure to show it...last time running it with geminiII, dok dapat the 'crashed' je...maybe i put too much tim or something else...

QUOTE(kmarc @ Aug 12 2007, 11:51 AM)
@ remysix

Wow! Nice temps for Quad.

What is the difference in temps comparing the Xigmatek to the GeminII? At idle and load?
*
dun have the figure and screenie...but IIRC, it would be around 7-10c...but now my system temp is high...last time using geminiII...got 2x120mm pushing the air down and cooling the ram plus the surrounding...now i used 2x120mm, push and pull but towards the exhaust rear fan...so, the mobo area left un-cool...gotta do something about it...

yups.. in terms of quad core overclocking, p35 is if not better but on par with 680i chipset.. which is far better than 965 and of coz 975..

and what makes p35  better than its 680i is the simplicity.. no need painful tweaking like the nforce one..

so gengstapo, bile lagi :-"
*
if i have a car that i can just step on the pad and it goes at the same speed with a car that has a cockpit like the plane - need to switch here and there, i would say the former is a better choice/performer...anyway, that maybe coming from ME who don have the skill in tweaking the mobo blush.gif

very nice oc bro...3.6 at 1.38v...maybe ur bios setting is 1.4v i guess.
i couldnt do that with 1.4v

better post some screenie to show the temp/setting.

*
i think the very first thing he shud get for the oc is a decent psu...good HSF will not do if ur voltage supplied to the system is not stable...
get a good psu and u wont regret it.

got a question, my default cpu voltage in bios is 1.3V, while cpu-z shows 1.1 and 1.2 something, so which 1 is accurate?

Added on December 13, 2007, 10:20 amalso, do u guys start with a higher voltage when overclocking, then slowly decrease, or start from minimum?
*
#1: both are correct (and in some way, can say incorrect-coz someone will say the correct voltage reading should be taken from DMM). anyway, cpu-z will report (based on ur mobo) voltage at idle and voltage at load. u set in bios=1.3v...cpuz(idle) = 1.2v (vdrop of 0.1v)...cpu(load)=1.1v (vdroop of 0.1v)...

u always start with lower voltage when OC...i dont think u want to start with 2.0v in ur oc journey tongue.gif

yeah, very few Q6600 can do 4GHz with air cooling, so yours consider as gem but it's expected since the VID is 1.25v only  brows.gif
*
same as mine la, vid 1.25v ...but mine is a 'polished gem' tongue.gif ...a lapped quad...might have less value in the market whistling.gif

nice proc you got  thumbup.gif  but then, why you running 3.4GHz daily? at least 3.6Ghz  icon_idea.gif
*
last time ran at 3.6, then 3.5 and now 3.4...since running 3.6 or 3.4 will not really give me a real life diff, i opted 3.4 wif lower vcore...

anyway, my Q6600 is a precious gem from Kvmcom !!! devil inside my mind keep asking me to LAP it !!!

but i still want it under warranty.. so better don't lap !  brows.gif
*
and where do u think i got mine whistling.gif whistling.gif ... so, dun lap la...coz a few months from now, u need to sell it off to get the penryn or wolfdale...like me, cannot sell it anymore la...if can, sure cheap cheap one.

i see.
but most of the time overclocker only bothers the load temp. tongue.gif
if idle at 60C then fulload will pass 80C easily.
mine idle at 39C fulload 69C, vcore 1.51v, ambiet temp 30C.
*
yeah, u prolly right and prolly the 60c is logical for load since the vcore is only 1.38v to achieve 4G...a gem proc i guess

Thx thx.... finally can join QUAD Core club!  rclxms.gif

Wah, you guys really set real high vcores!!!

Now stressing my quad at 1.400v (bios) @ 3.2Ghz (failed @ 3224mhz).... core temperature maximum at 63'c.....  sweat.gif

My mobo has bad vdroop though..... at prime95 stressing all 4 cores, CPUz shows 1.312v only....  mad.gif

I don't think I dare go higher than that.....  wink.gif
*
bro...what batch of G0 do u have there...for G0, 3.2Ghz is not that hard...and i think 1.4vcore is already too hi...but if u said the vcore drooped to 1.312v, u really have a serius vdroop there bro...1.400 - 1.312 = 0.088v...that's quite big...my DQ6 only drooped around 0.01 - 0.02v, so manageable la. and btw, core temp of 63, i think still ok since we are on air...and it's not the surface temp, which should be lower than 63c...

Errr.... not that advisable to OC too much with stock coolers...... I've never tried with stock coolers so I don't know...  smile.gif
Hehe, dunno what batch as I straight away put it in my rig.....

Ya lor, the funny thing is, with my previous E6750 at 1.425v bios, CPUz showed 1.39v idle and 1.36v load.

Now, with my Q6600 at 1.400v, CPUz showed 1.36v idle and 1.312v load.....  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif Dunno whether it is because of 4 cores that caused a large drop....  hmm.gif

P35-DS3 cannot compare with DQ6 la..... P35-DS3 cheap mobo only ma.....  smile.gif
*
hehe...true also la...anyway, i noticed that when i raised my Vgmch, the vcore became more stable compared to not raising the Vgmch...well at least that's the observation i saw on my mobo.

Yeah, somebody did mention that you can try to increase the Vmch to reduce the Vdroop...... not confirmed though.... I tried on mine but no effect.....

Anyway, what's the general FSB wall for the Q6600?

I tried 7x457 (3.2Ghz) but hang on boot up..... lazy test for FSB wall....  whistling.gif

mmm...FSB wall for Q6600...tot the FSB for the mobo tongue.gif
anyway, for mine last time i think i managed to get 482 like that la...didnt quite remember...

As for the way to apply, see this PDF.

I added two more dots to it.
