@master

nice voltage and super pi man, u should aim for the 13 second benchmark of pi. And also cant help notice that ur timings for ram, why dont u play with tighter timings?

Help me with oc trouble! When i use E2160,can run DDR11xx and no with this E6550,only can go DDR89x,once past 900 will stuck at C1 post code(Mem detection).I even swap another KVR(Run DDR9xx at the com i take out) and still the same and i try switching slot, single channel and dual channel.Could it be my PSU or my processor?

Spec:
E6550(G0.VID 1.35,stock vcore 440x7=3080mhz)
Abit IP35 Pro
Crucial Ballistix Tracer 2Gb DDR2800(Gone DDR-11xx,5-4-4-12@2.35v before)
Artic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro hsf with normal thermal compound
PNY 8800GT
Lian Li PC7A case in default configuration,no mod or anything
Segate Barracuda 7200.7 HDD
LG SATA DVD-RW
Inwin Powerman 350W PSU(Only 7.xv at 12v,will change soon)

I had the same problem with my IP35-PRO. It's very much the board or the CPU so maybe you can try it with another processor?
Let me know how it goes as I'm just as interested to find out smile.gif

have u pumped some Vdimm for the ram? remember, that if u overclock your proc(especially higher ends), certain oc abilities can disappear, unles u have good ram. Play with LOOSER timings bro.. first.

Did you use the same multiplier?

It may be because you are OCing with a higher FSB? In that case, increase your vMCH/vFSB.....

kmarcs got a point there. Abit needs a bit of a push since its a 4-phase board.. and at 440Mhz in FSB, hmm u will need some push on the Vmch(just place a fan there to help with cooling) and also push the Vcore a bit higher.. and if possible run your SPD on auto and play your Vdimm at auto if you can, most importantly FSB:Dram ratio at 1:1.

tongue.gif

i never mentioned that passing super PI is considered as stable..

and to ensure stability for 24/7, priming for many hours alone is not enuff, we still need to test 3D stability by running loops of 3dmark, or playing high intensive game for few hours..

if both pass, then only considered as stable for 24/7..

and in my case, yeah honestly i havent run prime yet.. even for 5mins laugh.gif .. but i did a rendering for 6580 frames that consist of lots of hdr.. lighting and effects.. that alone costs me a lot of hours with 100% cpu usage which imo is lot more stressful than prime95 offers ..

and yeah, Mr. Luck plays an important role in oc.. no doubt bout that ..biggrin.gif

Hi! I just can't seem to run @ 4-4-4- related timings! sad.gif My system would start but blank screen!!

If I can run @ those timings I cant up the FSB!!

I'm using a pair of HyperX, dunno why! sad.gif sad.gif

meaning either your RAM wants more voltage or loosen your timing icon_idea.gif, try both icon_idea.gif, see how it goes...

lulz... hyperx, the noob rams hahaha

ok, sorry that was mean, anyway, you could tell us what is your current speed and voltages for the rams that you set instead of just the timing though smile.gif

u hit the fsb wall? chipset wall? how about more voltages? what is the speed you are running at now and voltages, last but not least, what is the temps of the cpu under load? smile.gif

I've had the same issue and tried almost every single thing smile.gif The best way is to put in another chip to see if it hangs/boot up at the same point. From there, we can conclude if it's a board or CPU issue.

Currently running @ SPD as in EPP #3 (see my CPUZ scrrenie)

Mem Speed @ 960, vMem @ 2.2

FSB 480 x 7

user posted image

I tried increasing voltage both CPU and Mem but no success! 480 seems to be the last!

Any suggestions welcome thnx!

And TS I would be thankful if you can add me also to the list based on my current results thnx!

i dunt think that ram can go at that speed with that voltage...u may need to up the voltage a bit but worst case, it wont do either.
btw,i'm using the same ram right now. bought them since my Crucial 10th Anni was sent for RMA - got back a pair of Ballistic from Crucial...damn!

dun know what actually happen...the max vdimm i used only 2.2v...and worst thing is, even my DQ6 now cannot do DC; whenever i put my module in DC mode, i will get error in memtest...but no error at all in SC...so, rmaed the Anni and once my DFI DK arrived, gonna rma my mobo plak...
