Is your modem supported band 5/38/40? Your colleagues are phone might support one of the band while the modem doesn't.
For example, your area got band40 only, ur colleagues phone support band 40

but ur modem doesn't support band 40 = no-line

if your modem support band40 still no signal, then you need to login to the modem and change the band to 40

I'm using the modem provided, the Huawei B618-65D ... as I understand, for TDD, it only supports Band 40 and not Band 38.

(copy paste from other sites:-

Huawei B618s-65d: Band 1/3/5/7/8/28/40

B618-65d:-
FDD 700 / 850 / 900 / 1800 / 2100 / 2600 MHz
TDD 2300 MHz

Unifi mobile coverage = Unifi air coverage.

I have tried before subscribing to Unifi Air. Although the sales person gave me warning due to coverage is not covered (about 2km away from actual coverage shown in website), I can confirm it should work. After getting the Unifi Air, both Unifi Mobile and Unifi Air shares the same LTE tower.

In my area for Bandar Sg Long, B40(2300) is strong while B5(850) is spotty.

With my signal status range:
RSRP -111 to -100
RSRQ -11 to -7
SINR 6 to 11

Able to get speed around 15Mbps to 30Mbps download speed and 1Mbps to 3Mbps upload speed.

FYI, I tried to strengthen the LTE signal by using "4G LTE" antenna 88dbi booster which is total failure as B618 has way much more stronger signal reception. That antenna only serves as outdoor antenna where "good signal reception" area is outside which is not suitable for your previous LTE router to be exposed to any weather conditions.

Appreciate your sharing. I have a Dlink 4G modem DWR-921 and in-use celcom prepaid as internet, which is fairly high cost when high usage. Did tried put in Unifi Bebas sim card into the 4G, and able to get speed like 20-30mbps. subscribed the Bebas 1 week RM20, throttle to 7-8mbps speed, but use experience and speed acceptable. Thinking to directly get the Unifi Air RM79 per month for unlimited quota. Might be go for no free modem plan since I have the Dlink DWR-921 that supported all band.

thank again for your info.

u need to try do speedtest

after all, check back your needs. mine here 2 to 3 bar only, but speed can reach 30mbps ++. But, ping is a bit high and and not stable. not suitable for online gaming, even mobile gaming.

Thanks.

I tried with standard bebas, can get constant 7mbps+.

Will buy LTE plan and try another speed test.

Theoretically, b618 should gain more bar compared to e5573 (my current device) right.

Theoretically it should. I believe all portable router signal reception more or less the same as mobile phone.

That constant 7mbps from which band?

The free b618 is tempting.
But the 24months contract is risky for me, as i might move to different house again next year.

For now, tried asking for unifi air @tmpoint, the staff did not allow me to proceed signing since my current house missed the coverage map by few meter.

So the best way is to sign up w/o contract but you will have to find your own router. 2nd market value now is RM600~700. And you can sell it back later if u move, with no coverage or hv fiber.

Help needed rclxub.gif Subscribed to Unifi Air (sim card only) and I am using Huawei B315 Router.

The error I encounter is "Connection failed. The profile is invalid. Please contact your service provider".

I have already contacted TM but they can't help me since I am not using the router provided by TM. APN is already defaulted to unifi, but it just don't seems to work. Anyone with tips of what should I do?
Thanks.
