Apple devices are getting more expensive across the board, helping the company earn more per device
Despite a zero percent change in iPhone unit sales year over year, Apple ended its fiscal fourth quarter with a 29 percent revenue increase in its smartphone division. It also met its overall revenue target of $62.9 billion — up from $52.5 billion this quarter last year. Both sales and profit exceeded Wall Street expectations for the quarter.
Apple’s Q4 quarter ended in September, meaning it only accounted for the first few weeks of the new iPhone XS and XS Max going on sale. (The iPhone XR, which was also announced in September, did not become available for preorder until October.) Despite the slow sales growth, the average selling price per iPhone is now $793, up from $724 in Q3.
The increase suggests that Apple’s price hike strategy appears to be working; the trillion-dollar company introduced its first smartphone to cross the thousand-dollar starting price in 2017 with the 10th anniversary iPhone, and continued the trend of pricier phones this year with the $749 iPhone XR, $999 iPhone XS, and $1,099 iPhone XS Max. (It also discontinued its cheapest $399 iPhone SE after the announcement.)
Apple also announced new iPad and MacBook devices at an event this week. The starting price of the refreshed MacBook Air is now $1,199, up from $999, and the Mac mini starts at $799, up from $499. Accessories are also seeing a price bump: the new Apple Pencil 2 costs $129 — up from $99 — and the new Smart Keyboard starts at $179, the price of the most expensive version of the folio’s previous model. The more expensive Apple products come as the Cupertino company stated to the US Trade Representative last month that proposed tariffs by the Trump administration will make Apple products — including the Apple Watch, AirPods, and chargers — even more expensive.
Meanwhile, Apple’s Services division, which includes AppleCare, iCloud, and Apple Music, reached an all-time revenue record of $10 billion. (It should be noted that the costs to fix Apple products seem to also increase alongside them, with the new iPad Pro costing as much as $649 to repair without AppleCare+.) iPad sales were expectedly down compared to last quarter ahead of this week’s keynote, while Mac sales saw a unit increase of 42 percent after a new MacBook Pro was announced in July
With many new Apple hardware announced this week and priced at their most expensive yet, Apple is naturally forecasting a strong holiday quarter ahead, with a fiscal Q1 revenue expected between $89 billion and $93 billion, up from $88.3 billion this time last year. It’ll be harder to calculate the average selling prices of iPhones, Macs, and iPads going forward, though. Apple’s Chief Financial Officer Luca Maestri announced during the earnings call that the company will no longer disclose unit sales starting next quarter, claiming that those numbers do not accurately represent sales performance.

Nothing strange about not disclosing their sales figures. Apple is going for quality sales now rather than quantity.
Link on the poster/flyer? Didn't see at directd website.
Look for their Deepavali Sale link, I shared it in the previous version of this thread yesterday.

Yeah, I know. I read their quarterly report yesterday as well. What to do, you want to use their product, you pay the price they dictate

Unless its original Apple? Haha... cause previously the Lightning to HDMI also was stupid.. didn't have a charging port, then later on they came out with newer version.
Apple doesn’t have an ori dual earphone and charging dongle though

I’m wondering if we can have threads on buying iPhones XS, threads talking about casing, threads just discussion about the phones. I mean, I know our style here is to lump everything together but I already own the phone and is not interrelated to read where else is selling cheaper or which telco give better rate etc etc. I also already have a case. But I’d like to talk about the phone.

There is a thread dedicated to accessories but as it is, that thread already struggling to be “active”. If we create such specific threads for the phone, accessories, availability, etc. then could be a problem to try and keep everyone from posting the right topic of discussion into the right thread
"Apple admitted last year that it slows down older iPhones to help prevent battery issues like unexpected shutdowns. But not everyone took kindly to their iPhones being purposefully throttled.
Initially, this battery throttling only applied to the iPhone 6S or older. Later it came to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. As of iOS 12.1 it's coming to the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X. It shouldn't be as drastic, however, as it was on the 6S.
In iOS 11.3, Apple gave iPhone users access to its battery management tools, which let people using older iPhones turn on or off the throttling feature (called peak performance capability). In a support page updated Wednesday, Apple said that the feature will come to last year's iPhones, the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and X, with iOS 12.1. But Apple points out that performance management may be less noticeable due to the newer iPhones' more advanced hardware and software.
iPhone batteries naturally degrade as time goes on, and the throttling and unexpected shutdowns are more likely to occur with older iPhones. Since the 8, 8 Plus and X are newer, their batteries are likely to be in better shape than their older iPhone counterparts.
Still, if you do suspect any throttling or battery degradation in your 2017 iPhone, you'll be able to closely monitor battery management in iOS 12.1 settings. From there you'll be able to see if your iPhone is being throttled, and turn it on or off."

CarPlay users who frequently use Waze for navigation, does your iPhone heat up a lot? Was traveling earlier, noticed it heat up quite a bit and is abnormal. Restarted iPhone and tried again still same, then I disconnected and later on plug back then it was normal now 🤦♂️

hahahaha, 100mbps fast already, 2-3gb ios update not that long to download. but maybe he want to test drive iphone wifi maximum speed. just make sure u have better and superb router to support high wifi signal.

seriously.. 100mbps is more than good enuf for me already....
Actually 10gb is more than enough unless you need to constantly download through bittorent. Normal surfing and app usagw definately wont reach 800mbps.

i get 400++Mbps only for my Xs, but mine UniFi is 500Mbps package
Try standing nearer to the router.

Ya, exactly. As long as I have strong and stable 4G, I’m good
thanks waiting for baseus wireless charging from aliexpress. im actually charging right now. from 70 precent and now 95 percent almost 30 minutes. damn fast.
Yesterday im searching TG & case at Eko Cheras. Compare price at Switch & Maxis same.
I buy Hoda full TG & Itskin Hybrid-S (bcos got stand) - save 20%
What brand u mean ori? Spigen also have.
Make sure the maxis is a Maxis branch and not a dealer, as far as I know only the branches offer 20% discount on all cases for maxis customers. I bought a UAG Plasma for Note 9 from maxis Sunway Pyramid with such offer.
i just finish charging from 70% to 100% 34 minutes. forgot to screenshot earlier and finish. will do again later with screenshot combo rm80.50 free postage coupon- rm9.40 cheaper than single apple usb type c to lighting cable.

from what i have test cable and charger, it supported ios12 flawlessly
my Xs Max battery normally after 2 hours it will turun around 98-97. after full charge using mcdodo pd and mcdodo type almost 3 hours the battery is still 100%. . will update later.

I’m using a BlueO full coverage tempered glass and it’s pretty decent thus far. As for cases, there’s too many out there so it depends on your taste, preference and budget. I got my Ringke Fusion case from this bloke
Chiming in to support said bloke.
Had my first "drop test" last week. Phone fell from about 4-5 ft. Landed on a corner. TG survived but the Ringke Fusion suffered some scratches to the corner it landed on.
Anyone here that have used wireless charging since iPhone X days? Contemplating one but it's a mixed bag. Some says it's better whilst some people say it degrades the battery. I remember a fellow forumer saying that they have the battery degrade under 90% with one year of using wireless charging, with the same charging pattern of using wired charging.
I've had my 6s Plus for about three years and the battery is currently sitting at 83%. Would like to replicate that with the Max

Better the case rather than the phone eh? Quoting so I can easily refer to it later. Lol.

Thats me , its based on my observation for the battery life from 8 plus to the 6s. I also notice that the phone is warmer when charge using wireless compared to cable. Now i am charging xs max fully wired. Lets see in another year is the battery degrading the same. If same maybe next year xi max i will simply charge wired or wirelessly lol.
Guys, anyone know how to solve icloud stuck at waiting for approval on ‘Approve this iphone’?Check at other device that my xs max already in the device list, but why icloud still asked for approval?

Ringke cases like most other clear cases will scratch very easily. The other thing is they will also turn yellow over time, but getting the Smoke Black one instead of the Clear one will help
Still, like you said, better the case (and even the tempered glass) than the phone!

Why my Xs max battery drained faster than my 8 plus aaa 😢
That’s normal, isn’t it? The battery needs to power up more screen estate and push more pixels.
But what type of charger that a person is using shouldn’t affect how fast the battery drops isn’t it? 🤔
but still my xs max drain faster than my 7 plus actually. I do a bit setting to the system. I turn screen time off, I don't use parallax mode on the wallpaper, I set all my location services too while using , I using night shift only, true tone is off. It give me a better percentage of the battery.

I’m really enjoying the screen display of this phone. Really nice to look at with its natural colors.
Now I’m thinking if I should get another Xs max rather than the Xr. Will see what’s the deals this weekend.
The Xs Max display is something else
My only gripe so far is the less than stellar battery life, especially on days that my usage is a little on the heavier side, like being a passenger in a car going for a long distance trip. Other than that, all is good
Was thinking of getting an Xr too, but now I have my eyes on the new iPad Pro

SGD $2600 one? The most expensive, the most better 😅😅

Hmm. What wireless charger were you using yeah? Could it possibly be poor regulation or is it just an inherent wireless charging problem. I know induction charging by its nature would produce heat as a byproduct.
I wonder if a pad with a fan would help with that.
Anyone else care to chime in?

The older models don't scratch quite so easily. Or I suppose it's because I got the smoked one for my old phone. I just noticed the yellowing when putting new and old, side-by-side. If it stands alone, it isn't very noticeable. Not bad for a three year old case.
Any recommendations for a case that also has a lanyard loop? Thought of alternating cases. Would very much like a clear back but froster side. Pure transparent kinda sucks with the black.
Would consider a rhinoshield but I've had it break from normal usage before. So feeling a bit skeptical on it now.

You need to approve from your other iOS devices (eg. your previous iPhone) cause you have 2FA turned on.
Already reset my network setting and I am still having the same issue. Phone is showing 4G with full bar signal but mobile data cannot be used and no call can be made. Called Digi Helpline and she said that she can see that I am using XS Max in the system and she said since this device is still new, the sim card that I am using may not be compatible and she advised me to go to Digi Center to check my sim card. Hopefully it is really sim card issue or software issue and not anything related to hardware

I’ve noticed quite a number of micro scratches on my Ringke already, and it’s less than a month old I remember when I used the clear Ringke for my Note 5 it yellowed in less than a year! Anyway I’m not gonna make too much of a fuss over a RM59 case, haha...

Mine got very minor scratches from the case . But oh well, few months down the line I'm gonna change to Spigen Neo Hybrid Black color... the shiny black + gold outline at the camera, port and mute area... I think should look classy, for now need to show the gold color yay.

Of course you still can charge, but there will be no quick charging effect.

Huh. You made me check and you're indeed right. I already have scratches on mine. Meh. It's a case, it's bound to get scratches
Any other case you've used similar to the Ringke?
I tried this Spigen and it looks alright. Just don't really like the rubber sides and the lack of a hole to attach a lanyard.

That case looks big though. If you're rocking a Gold max, transparent casing looks really quite nice. That Neo Hybrid kinda takes away from the whole gold thing. My take at least
---------------------
So any case recommendation for something that is good against drops AND has lanyard loop?
Mean you’re having the XS Max now? Why do you think to buy another one? For your lover is it or keep it as spare phone?
If buy for spare phone, get XR should be different feel. I will got mine today evening for my extra toy of XR blue 256gb 🤣🤣🤣
Yes, I’m using the max 64gb gold now. So far so good. The new phone will be for my mom. She is using my previous i7+ plus. I think it’s a good time to change since both new phones have bigger screen. The XR is a smaller phone which will be easier to hold and prevent accidental drops. On the other hand, the Xs max display is much bigger and better for old ppl to view.
How is your phone now (Xs max vs Xr)?

Was thinking of getting an Xr too, but now I have my eyes on the new iPad Pro
I’m fine with the battery life since I charge it daily. Plus, I use the power bank. Haven’t charged using car charger since not much need for that.
Haha, iPad Pro looks really good. Good time to upgrade though. I didn’t upgrade from my old iPads. Erm, don’t want to be tempted.....

I am using XS Max now, I feel that quite heavy if carry for watching YouTube video.
I will suggest her to get XR should be good choices.
Can see the XR not as smaller than XS also not so big than Max. Just right.
Mine got very minor scratches from the case . But oh well, few months down the line I'm gonna change to Spigen Neo Hybrid Black color... the shiny black + gold outline at the camera, port and mute area... I think should look classy, for now need to show the gold color yay.
Yeah, gonna change to a non-transparent case soon, waiting to see what good deals come on 11.11

My take at least ---------------------
So any case recommendation for something that is good against drops AND has lanyard loop?
I think most clear ones will scratch. I’ve used Otterbox Symmetry Clear for my previous S8+ and also have an Otterbox Statement case which I bought for my iPhone X and both also got scratches like no tomorrow
So my conclusion is if it’s a clear case, it will scratch and it will turn yellow. Just a matter of time

Ya, the temptation for the new iPad Pro is strong, hahaha
Go get your sim card replaced then. Make sure you go to Digi Centre rather than dealers as dealer will charge for sim card replacement. I heard Ringke Fusions turn yellow are 2 months old .... not sure if its true.
My first time using Ringke Fusion, let me see how fast it turns yellow

Yeah, but I still prefer dark colored iPhone case . Having the gold accent on the sides is enough la.
Mous and RhinoShield both have lanyard loop.

Yup, I think the XR is just about the right size. It's my first choice. If the discounts aren't that much (due to XR popularity), then I may topup $$$ and get the Xs Max.

Anyone using app that could monitor the CPU utilization? Pretty interested to find out why my XS Max heats up so much when connected to CarPlay Waze, but Waze itself no issue.

Yes. Charging your phone through car usb chargers will degrade your phone's battery badly as power output is not stable from your car. Im not sure if power output would be more stable with branded car chargers but the cheapo usb charge would be a definate no no.

unless is third party system install after, car that come built in with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, mostly not cheap car easily 100k or above i doubt the charger can be poor in quality

What I meant was the usb type charger that you poke into your ciggarete lighter type. The built in ones should be okay though.
Guys, which country have the lowest iphone retail price? I did some googling and found out that Japan is one of the lowest. Anyone purchase their iphone from there before? I might be going Japan in 2 months time.
Quick question..can iphone xs gold bezel be polished like the stainless steel silver colour? My xs gold bezel starting to have hair line scratch although i using a good casing it is still tend to scratch 🤔
lol no..never do it on gold/space grey... your color will fade away

Yeah I'm pretty picky about the 12v converted USB chargers, but for CarPlay its from the car itself...
ok.. go ahead and grab it.. i lazy to explain anymore...

I guess the initial theory is that third party doesn't have the MFI chip as Apple has not released it. However, now that I'm curious you mentioned similar wattage draw from the charger, how did you measure it btw? Tapped the signals on the cable?

Erm, I’m think you will get a new phone rather than wait so long. You wanna wait till next iPhone launch?
A glass case? That means adding more weight to an already heavy phone
Actually weight is the same if not lighter than those with a Polycarbonate back. One of the brands we sell (Laut Crystal-X) is lighter compared to the Spigen Ultra Hybrid. But do be aware that it will only be more scratch resistant on the outside of the case. Usually on the inside of the case there will be a thin plastic layer to protect your phone should the glass shatter or break. So cleaning the inside of the case or removal/inserting your phone can still cause scratches on the inside.

Mous and RhinoShield both have lanyard loop. Unless you buy those with glass back, saw a few brands having this now.
Mous huh. I've heard about them but have never actually looked at their offerings. Thought it was just another one of those overhyped Kickstarter product.
Do you happen to know if RhinoShield have improved their quality? The last time I bought from them, both of my bumpers broke (tore) from normal daily usage. I find that very disheartening (despite the claim for lifetime warranty - I have yet to try that)
Anyone ordered from T&L telecom the iPhone Xs last week during the RM400 digital promo qoo10?
I checked the tracking no in gdex and this came out:
05/11/2018 10:09:00 Undelivered due to Held Back In Office Petaling Jaya
Better to call GDex to enquire what is wrong with the delivery. Its been quite some time and I think most who preordered already got their phones already/

My Huawei powerbank having function of supercharge. But when paired with standard apple cable it don’t give the fast charge. Hence I thought if using USB-Type C to lighting cable. But I only see the type C on the powerbank as input. I dun think so it is possible to charge via input right?

Yup. Using the Ringke Fusion myself now, the black frosted type. Not really a fan of the solid suit myself though. I think I bought my bumper when the solid suit was still on preorder.
I don't remember it having a lanyard hole. Should dig it up and check.

Pretty sure you need PD for it to quick charge. And that looks very much like a one way input.

HW supercharge is proprietary to HW only. It cannot even super charge other Androids too. Had tested on Note8, note9, one plus 5t. And you need HW cable too even for HW phones. It probably gives slight faster charging and definitely no supercharging for other phones

Buy USA set better than Japan set. Many Years ago was purchased Iphone 5 in japan set.
you know what, You can't silent your phone completely. When you want to take picture, there is a lousy sound will come out . And then everybody look at you. Horrible !!
First time seeing this error message, any idea what’s this?
Did you change SIM cards recently? I changed my SIM card to a new one and started getting this message. You just need to confirm your primary line again under the mobile network settings and that should go away.

There is one, at the bottom left side, i.e. same side as the volume buttons.

Hi,
I bought my XS Max from Apple Shinjuku-Ku Japan last month. Ya, the shutter sound is there and it is acceptable to me. Also we can mute the sound.
Anyway it all boil down to individual perspectives, as for me the price is a real bargain and the shutter sound are ok with me and my photogenic friends 😆.

Want to ask a question here, I saw some shop in Shopee selling XS Max 256GB for RM 5,299 only. USA set. What is the difference between USA set and our local set here?
i still feel ipxsmax being cheapskate no include this adapter to our phone..

I see btw I like the spigen ultra hybrid or rihnosheild mod nx .
And yeah just called to Maxis they said queenbays eligible for Citibank 24 months installment got to grab by this Friday but not sure whether they have this both casing or not

Bought my ipx from japan early this year. Basically if u want to mute during take photo, choose live photo mode. Else, u need to jailbreak and edit the shuttersound name to turn it off.
Anyone can advise this. I have a usb c to hdmi for using with my previous huawei phone to tv. Now can’t use cause of type c head. Can I buy an adapter like below and connect to usb c to lighting cable. Can it be use?

Nope. There is no discounts for iPhone X during 12.12 sales. Lazada only discounts for iPhone 8 and 8 Plus on 12.12 It was during subsequent CNY sales that Lazada gave massive discounts for iPhone X

Just encountered the speakergate again on 12.1, seems like it's not solved. I think this happens when it's being disconnected from BT headset by turning BT off in iPhone.
By the way, I've had this the 2nd time. 1st was in 12.0.1, trying to reproduce this 'gate'
This damn Xs have too many bugs for such a bloody expensive phone. I'm losing hope with Apple by the day. 🤮
How do you find the symmetry case? A bit difficult to fit in and take out the phone right?
I got it from Thunder. You could get it from Lazada too.
Yes, it's a bit difficult to put it on but the case feels nicely snugged. I was using 8 Plus before with Otterbox Achiever but it was too bulky compared to Symmetry.

I think the rational behind it is to let you have time to read the notifications list before you go in... cause touch ID you can read first then only scan to get in.

most of the reputable brands should have better accuracy... I'm using RhinoShield TG and so far don't notice the edges being cropped or imbalanced black border size.

did you order directly from Rhinoshield Malaysia (lazada store), or from overseas?

rhinoshield looks good.. but my budget hvent reach there for a temp glass
Ordered direct from RhinoShield, got discount as I backed their SolidSuit on KS previously. First piece was USD15 only. Tough luck, well then you need to try and error in this case. My XS Max ear speaker... when speaking on telephone it has cracking sound , but when play music and all its fine.
too bad their dont have custom case for iphone xs, otherwise i will buy from them. only solidsuit.
Yeah I hope so but according to the news the next Asean country is either Vietnam or Indonesia. In the Philippines they are testing now the esim for iphone XS line up and AW4 Cellular and before the year end people can get the QR code already. Here we still waiting.
I would put higher hope on Vietnam. Did you see 2018 and 2017 launches in SG? Vietnamese are the ones making the long lines and not even singaporeans. Apple would prefer to open a store in Vietnam.
As for Indonesia, I do not think so. They are a relatively low income nation and only very minor percentage of iOS users there. If Apple would open there, my best bet would be in Jakarta or Bali. At least those are tourist hotspots.
Philippines? Wow! Malaysian telco is not even backing us Malaysian up.
Hmmm.. this is worrying.. will check in with machine/switch/mac studio to troubleshoot. if really hardware issue i wonder if can get a replacement good for you! hope it stays that way for you. will continue googling to find more similar cases.
I suspect it is not speaker issue though... cause when I listen to recorded messages on WhatsApp it doesn't happen there.

Let me test it out. If it sounds fine with recorded message then it's the audio frequency from youtube/spotify?
I watch a lot of youtube over dinner at the table coz I'm always home late from work and no one layan me at the table That's why spending some time to try and 'fix' this

So far when I play YouTube then no issue, only when I put my ears to the ear speaker then yes.
Btw just noticed my ear speaker isn’t working 🤦♂️ Was wondering why so soft the video sound, after restart it’s working back again. First time this happened.
Hahaha, yeah, I think so too. Anyways, I have some additional financial commitment starting next year so maybe it’s a good time to repent and change my evil ways
Ah, ok. Sounds like an investment. Anyways, better don’t look see the 11/11 sales. Else will be tempted.

Nice. I’m looking for a tpu case that isn’t slippery to hold. Maybe will get the spigen ultra hybrid. Have to see the item first though.

Unfortunately I successfully downloaded a RM111 voucher from Lazada a couple days ago so yeah, looks like I will be spending on something but don’t know what yet

Very good luck having able to get the rm111 voucher.
Yeah, unlucky my unit affected But odd enough, I can still make phone calls and all through the ear speaker. Is there 2 ear speaker (one for calls another for stereo?) or its both combined?

if you have the budget.. go for 256... ios will take similar space with ur 6s plus.. picture and video surely will take up space, if you getting 64gb mayb you need to backup to pc for storage

If you plan to use more than 2 years , then 256GB is safer bet.Do take iOS app cache into consideration as they accumulate in size which could go into GB size depends on what app you are using. Only a handful of app able to clear the cache, other you need to delete and reinstall, which mean you will lose all the data. You will still able to enjoy the phone but there is some maintenance job if you dont mind. I prefer to use the device hassle free.

of cause i understand PD.. are you sure third party cable able to do 15V@1.2A with ios 11.3.1 above? mind to share some pic?
Btw if both draw same watt, it should charge the same time, why third party use 30mins longer? get my point?
everyone outside lowyat share only apple ori cable able to fast charge after ios 11.3.1... even the seller of third party cable confirm this... just ppl from lowyat keep on insist third party cable can fast charge.. i dont understand...
after all is your money, get the cable you like..
you cannot blame all third party when you could get lousy one, no point argue with you, not all third party have problem ok

haha any place can buy nice transparent case now i didnt buy the case from Switch, only get their tempered glass.
Plenty at ninjaz and quite cheap. Used so many transparent case before and really cannot differentiate between exp type like 100++ and those 10++ one. Almost same grip , texture and most importantly, they turn yellow after sometime.
Don’t blames to XR, XS’s anymore this time to compare my past. Xiaomi dual SIM card for current my 3G free 1GB data on XR always is full bars not needs on and off wifi connection at all. If this card put on Xiaomi mi mix 2 sometime can no detection at all, have to switch on airplane mode for reconnecting cellular.
Against on my XS Max both of lines with celcom roaming always is full bars , my internet always no problems to login safari browser to refresh pages.
I noticed there is some alternate appearance? Maybe could try to teach that instead.
Yes. IOS 12 allows alternate appearance now. Meaning you can add an additional face ID on your phone with a different look. Like mentioned, maybe with your makeup, glasses on and hair combed to a specific style.

i pretty sure none of third party able to support apple pd.. apple pd dont work without MFi.. a simple information verification can be done by google and some read.. all dont intend to do it.. and insist on own perspective..
yup no point we continue this.. when i have question for your statement, none of your who say third party support fast charge able answer my doubt, basically just ignore my question.. you happy with your cable then is fine...

The main issue was slightly slower to compare as the original from Apple. The result just like use with 3rd party charger only. But does not mean it’s cant works at all , pop up the message like your device not supported.
I did it for all, to me I wanted to charge it fast or keep it slower or take it 3.5 hours for fully charged, its my choices and my opinion.

hello, i did not even mentioned it does not support charge like your device not supported..
i highlighted it does not support apple PD charging speed. It will charge same speed like you using ipad charger. Its slow by 30min mentioned by you not abit..
Yea is all your choice but you giving out wrong statement that third party able to to support fast charge which it did not. It will charge but with 12W not 18W.

my current 6s+ casing many buy from ninjaz also. but last night i no time to visit it yet ya transparent case after sometime will become yellow and it is very "oily"? also so i don't want to buy expensive transparent case

why need to rage like this, we bought it and we don't care it slightly slower dan the original cable. and we also don't rage with other people who use original cable, we just said we opt to get cheaper cable with almost similar usage. we just comparing price range laa. comparison is good, and mostly we like to joking around with apple premium price accessories only. just "berlapang dada" . we compare it because we experienced it , we compared it when our friends ask about it. if u think this can be bad influence to apple devices user than maybe u can open a thread or write a blog regarding this. u can write the whole process regarding the untrue of third party cable vs original apple cable.

Still don’t understand what is power deliver cable.. is it new type of cable? Faster than iPad 2a charger or not?
the cable is usb type c to type c or lighting for iPhone or apple device users. the cable support 18w. not only for phone, u can use it to charge your MacBook or other devices that use it. but u need a charger that support PD too. mostly 29w and above
This post has been edited by kebeckham7: Nov 8 2018, 01:10 PM
So it all depends on the charger I use? Your picture is using normal Apple cable
nope it the new and original apple usb type c to lighting cable, charger u can buy separately 29w,30w to 85w, original normal apple one usb a to lighting cable mostly we use with 5w charger

Waa thank youuuu guys! Really helpful. Current charger, 3hours+++ pon belum penuh. Knn!
yes, now u can pilih to buy original one or third party depends on your need and budget. with PD u can finish charging around 1 hour 15 minutes - 1 hour 45 minutes depends .

And does it affect the battery in any way since the watt is so much higher
Doesn't matter how much capacity the PD charger has, the iPhone only capable of 18W charging.
So far the best sweet spot for now is 2.4A (12W) charger with the standard cable. You can still use the cable outside as the Type A is widely available compared to the Type C.

That’s a no brainer especially if you also own an iPad. No additional cost incurred
sorry, i just join this cable topic. want to know if want to have fast charging(fast abit than ori speed is enough, no need super fast), is it need to buy apple type c cable? will got improve on speed? i got 61w macbook pro charger and 10w ipad charger

The iPad 10W will be 2x faster than the supplied 5W (for non throttled speed, iOS will limit charging speed above 80% to protect the battery). If you want 18W charging, then buy the Type C to Lightning cable and use with the 61W charger.

Buy original 1m Apple USB C cable for complete charged less than 2 hours or buy McDoDo/Baseus lightning to USB C cable , full charger is around 2.5 hours ++

will try the ipad charger then only buy type c cable. actually this type c cable charging from 61w is it will make the battery life shorter? or battery drop faster than ori charger etc?

In honest for all charger after fully charged still keep it power on without unplug with power off, confirm will shorter life. Just keep your good habits

sometime overnight charging so normal fast charging is ok one right
Overnight use the 5W also sufficient, unless you sleep less than 3 hours
sleep 6 hours maybe? really long time didnt use the 5w charger since my 6s+ already. i think many ppl here not even take out the new phone 5w charger from box right?

that's true.. so fast charge may be more helpful for Xs Max users..

get a ipad charger or 5v@2.4A charger fast enough for xs..

Anxiously waiting for 11.11 for best deals and offers for iphone XS and Max. Considering a base XS if can get it below 4k. Any sites to look out for apart from the usual suspect, QOO10, 11street, Shopee and Lazada?
You better get the link, cause round head, slightly annoying on case. Will come out easily. For the flat head, I’m using it all the time without any issue.
hmmm..try give a smile while wearing ur sunglasses when unlocking ur phone using face id?
Tak boleh. Nanti people think Im mad.
I hate it when I have to take off my sunglasses to face unlock the phone. Usually I will unlock using keycode. I hate it even more when Im in cold countries and I have to take off my gloves and my sunglasses to use the phone.

Have not tried with my current XS Max though. But it didnt work my my previous X. Mine is the cycling type of Oakleys, with polarised lenses. I have tried with my MFrame, Radar, Jawbone, Jawbreaker. Not sure why.

I'm using few Polarized, Conductor6, SquareWire, Tinfoil and one with Prizm lense. All work just fine. Try adding one face id without sunglasses and since now can setup alternate appearance, do one with sunglasses on.

Lol. Thats what Im thinking too since you can do now under alternate appearance. I have read that face id sometimes fail to detect when mirror like lenses block your eyes from being identified by face id.

US folks suggest getting the new 18W USB-C brick (which came with the new iPad Pro) once it's available for sale, to charge the iPhone. 18W is multi purpose and because it is PD, it can also charge a MacBook 13".. one tiny brick that can charge everything and easy for travelling
Quite impressed so far. Have their 1m, 2m & 3m usb to lightning cables & a 2.4A charger, all ok so far. Most importantly is no noise (screen & touchid working well during charging). Also no problem on the XS.

Thank you bro. I guess 2.4A charger adapter is best for me. Pair w original cable. At least no more 3 f hours to fully charged.
Either ipad or xiaomi/huawei charger adapter in my mind, depend on 11/11 sale. Lol
xs max my set swap with xs max hk set u want to swap too? maxis, since i cant go to KL , i think i wont be able to get esim before depart too Riau.
I’m not sure if it’s a good deal since you have to top up 300 coz HK set is already cheaper vs local set. But if you really need dual SIM and seeing how time is limited, I guess you don’t have any other options?
I noticed my XS Max don’t auto update my app anymore when it is connected to Wi-Fi and charging. Wonder what is wrong? I checked the settings, nothing has been changed.

XS still remain as nano + eSim.
XR & Max only comes with dual physica SIM card slot.

I’m not sure if it’s a good deal since you have to top up 300 coz HK set is already cheaper vs local set. But if you really need dual SIM and seeing how time is limited, I guess you don’t have any other options?
yeah, that's the thing I can buy original apple usb type c cable and 30 watt apple charger with 300 ringgit. since she have new unbox HK set and I've 13 days old local set. I've nego with her to topup 100 ringgit. but no respons. I tried too google for plane tickets to KL. the adhoc price could get to 350-400. just to get esim . very frustrated that I cant use the dual sim ability during work trip. normally we depart from KLIA but this time I'll be using ferry from Setulang Laut johor.
Thanks for the explaination bro Benefon and bro Tomei-R. Ya no doubt Xr size is nice but the bezel is too thick.
Anyway how about everyone xs max battery performance? Feel fast drained too?
I ve updated to 12.1.1 beta 2 , I think the battery is slightly better than 12.1. u can minimize the background use like location, true tone, animation option and raise to wake...or maybe u can use all black wallpaper.for me it work but only for 5-10 percent .but from the youtube review XR got the best battery usage between xs (because it has smaller battery capacity) and xs max.
*anyone here from t'ganu wanna swap your HK set XS Max 256gb dual nano sim with me( Xs Max 256gb local set) pls pm.

Yeah, your options are pretty limited considering your current location and the timeframe you have before your trip. If it's a newly sealed set then might be worth it.

Just let it update on phone less troublesome than stuck at iTunes updates
I noticed in Shopee a lot of sellers are selling Xs Max below the market price of RM 300 - 400. Most of the seller claims that the phone is from US, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Any idea whether these sellers are selling genuine iPhones ?

Thanks. Notice that T&L is selling at cheaper price as well. Is the retail price of iPhone lower in Hong Kong ? Warranty wise the phone should be able to be service locally because of international warranty ?

HK doesn't tax for electronic gadgets so yes their price is lower than ours.
