The helpline is BS - I am using a old digi card from days of ip7 and is perfectly fine
Why don't you ask for a new simcard?
Or try other telco to assess
If problem is still there send in to service center to check

Some irritating issues on my Max ( ios 12.1)

1. Often difficult to switch back to portrait mode from landscape in youtube. I needed to turn phone over at least 2-3 times
2. Brightness auto change itself though I had disabled such feature. Yesterday phone suddenly auto dim to lowest while in sunlight - very strange? This happened few times already
3. Phone isn't as smooth as my ex ip8+ and other Note9. Infact it even hung while on Safari at times
4. Face I'D recognition is erratic - it only works 90% of the time. I had redo it already.
Sometime it is unbelievably quick too

Anyway claiming all overseas set here is a hot and miss affair. It isn't a simple straight forward affair. Some are luck and equally some isn't claiming successfully.
Forget about turbo sim - you will regret later for sure once your phone has problems and a reset is required
