Yes it is smile.gif

I’m using a BlueO full coverage tempered glass and it’s pretty decent thus far. As for cases, there’s too many out there so it depends on your taste, preference and budget. I got my Ringke Fusion case from this bloke
*
Chiming in to support said bloke.

Had my first "drop test" last week. Phone fell from about 4-5 ft. Landed on a corner. TG survived but the Ringke Fusion suffered some scratches to the corner it landed on.

Better the case rather than the phone eh?

QUOTE(kebeckham7 @ Nov 4 2018, 08:59 PM)
Quoting so I can easily refer to it later. Lol.

------

Anyone here that have used wireless charging since iPhone X days? Contemplating one but it's a mixed bag. Some says it's better whilst some people say it degrades the battery. I remember a fellow forumer saying that they have the battery degrade under 90% with one year of using wireless charging, with the same charging pattern of using wired charging.

I've had my 6s Plus for about three years and the battery is currently sitting at 83%. Would like to replicate that with the Max

Thats me biggrin.gif , its based on my observation for the battery life from 8 plus to the 6s. I also notice that the phone is warmer when charge using wireless compared to cable. Now i am charging xs max fully wired. Lets see in another year is the battery degrading the same. If same maybe next year xi max i will simply charge wired or wirelessly lol.
*
Hmm. What wireless charger were you using yeah? Could it possibly be poor regulation or is it just an inherent wireless charging problem. I know induction charging by its nature would produce heat as a byproduct.

I wonder if a pad with a fan would help with that.

Anyone else care to chime in?

QUOTE(attw @ Nov 5 2018, 06:48 AM)
Ringke cases like most other clear cases will scratch very easily. The other thing is they will also turn yellow over time, but getting the Smoke Black one instead of the Clear one will help biggrin.gif

Still, like you said, better the case (and even the tempered glass) than the phone!

*
The older models don't scratch quite so easily. Or I suppose it's because I got the smoked one for my old phone. I just noticed the yellowing when putting new and old, side-by-side. If it stands alone, it isn't very noticeable. Not bad for a three year old case.

Any recommendations for a case that also has a lanyard loop? Thought of alternating cases. Would very much like a clear back but froster side. Pure transparent kinda sucks with the black.

Would consider a rhinoshield but I've had it break from normal usage before. So feeling a bit skeptical on it now.

I’ve noticed quite a number of micro scratches on my Ringke already, and it’s less than a month old laugh.gif I remember when I used the clear Ringke for my Note 5 it yellowed in less than a year! Anyway I’m not gonna make too much of a fuss over a RM59 case, haha...
I think you more hardcore than the both of us bro, haha
*
Huh. You made me check and you're indeed right. I already have scratches on mine. Meh. It's a case, it's bound to get scratches laugh.gif

Any other case you've used similar to the Ringke?

I tried this Spigen and it looks alright. Just don't really like the rubber sides and the lack of a hole to attach a lanyard.

QUOTE(celciuz @ Nov 5 2018, 10:47 AM)
Mine got very minor scratches from the case dry.gif. But oh well, few months down the line I'm gonna change to Spigen Neo Hybrid Black color... the shiny black + gold outline at the camera, port and mute area... tongue.gif I think should look classy, for now need to show the gold color yay.
*
That case looks big though. If you're rocking a Gold max, transparent casing looks really quite nice. That Neo Hybrid kinda takes away from the whole gold thing. My take at least sweat.gif

---------------------

So any case recommendation for something that is good against drops AND has lanyard loop?

My first time using Ringke Fusion, let me see how fast it turns yellow tongue.gif
Yeah, but I still prefer dark colored iPhone case tongue.gif. Having the gold accent on the sides is enough la.

Mous and RhinoShield both have lanyard loop.
Unless you buy those with glass back, saw a few brands having this now.
*
Mous huh. I've heard about them but have never actually looked at their offerings. Thought it was just another one of those overhyped Kickstarter product.

Do you happen to know if RhinoShield have improved their quality? The last time I bought from them, both of my bumpers broke (tore) from normal daily usage. I find that very disheartening (despite the claim for lifetime warranty - I have yet to try that)

I used their first generation SolidSuit, so far so good. Its durable as advertised and well my phone didn't crack. Not using them now LOL, using Ringke Fusion instead for clear case. Gotta show them gold color off tongue.gif. Btw Ringke Fusion also has holes for lanyard.
laugh.gif took sometime, but oh well. This time gonna unbox with video tongue.gif
*
Yup. Using the Ringke Fusion myself now, the black frosted type. Not really a fan of the solid suit myself though. I think I bought my bumper when the solid suit was still on preorder.

I don't remember it having a lanyard hole. Should dig it up and check.

My Huawei powerbank having function of supercharge. But when paired with standard apple cable it don’t give the fast charge. Hence I thought if using USB-Type C to lighting cable. But I only see the type C on the powerbank as input. I dun think so it is possible to charge via input right?[attachmentid=10096993]
*
Pretty sure you need PD for it to quick charge. And that looks very much like a one way input.

Did you get the kit that comes with the Ringke Fusion+Kit package? It consists of a lanyard which you can hooked on to your wrists and a card holder.
*
There's a Kit? Damn. Didn't know about that. I just googled and don't quite understand the card holder. Is it supposed to be hooked to the lanyard?

I've been using my Max for almost a month now. I hardly have the need to charge it mid way. Not too heavy a user I suppose. Last 10 days analysis:

Average Screen On is 7 hours. Biggest drain comes from Waze at 17%, followed by Apollo at 12% and finally Safari at 11%.

For the past week, I've only resorted to a power bank once - even then I was pretty confident I could reach the end of the day (although doing so would leave my battery go below 20%).

I too use the McDodo cable with a 2.4A charger. Just charge it right before I go off to bed. A typical day will leave my battery at about 30-40% charge by 10 pm.

To those that have the battery die off very fast, what's your biggest drain?

mine is Chrome,WhatsApp. those 2 are the most battery crunching apps on my Xs Max
but i dont really put my phone in "fast drain" category as it still can last me the whole day. drive to office at 6am, balik at 5.30, still left plenty of juice (60-65%)
*
Curious. Would using Safari reduce your battery drain? Since that seems to be the case for my MBP. Using chrome really eats away at my battery

QUOTE(attw @ Nov 19 2018, 03:55 PM)
Maybe just about, I think. For me the 6S Plus was ok but not as good as the 6 Plus (maybe 1GB RAM is the key, hahaha)...
I usually charge my phone at 8pm at night till about 10pm, then switch it to low power mode and go to bed as my day starts at 5.45a.m. Usually when I get home at about 7pm or so I'd have about 50% left or less, depending on how heavy my usage is throughout the day. Of course if I'm traveling long distance and don't have to drive then my usage is higher coz I'll be fiddling with my phone throughout the journey, hahaha... But haven't had a situation whereby I've had to look for a power bank before the end of the day since the days of the iPhone 5 - and long may that continue laugh.gif

For me the main ones are Safari, WhatsApp and Mail...
*
Conversely, I think my Max lasts longer than my 6S Plus. I remember having to rely quite a bit on a power bank back then. Probably because I actually played more games back then, as opposed to now sweat.gif

Mail draining the battery? How much of emails do you do from your phone man?

QUOTE(maximillan @ Nov 19 2018, 04:56 PM)
Guys..
Is it normal for Iphone XS maximum capacity dropping to 99%?

Less than a month :S bangwall.gif
*
I think if you scroll the past few pages, quite a few people have the same issue on a Xs. XS max here. Battery still at 100% after a month of use. Sounds like a hardware issue. Pretty sure the battery isn't supposed to degrade that fast.

Between my work and personal emails I’d get about 70-80 a day but maybe just 20 or less would require my attention smile.gif Used to do more emails on the iPad but just sold my 2018 one in anticipation of the new iPad Pros, haha...

Yeah, gaming is a big battery killer so unfair to compare between them and now!
I think that article is purely referring to speed of uploads and downloads.
*
Damn. That's a lot of emails.

It's almost midnight and my phone is currently standing at 33%

I think the battery life is quite alright, all things considered. I don't even need to plug in when I use Waze nowadays.

Anyone with network problems?

I'm trying to figure if I have a problem with my LTE signal. Getting only about one to two megs on speed test...although I think it might be Celcom. Anyone else on Celcom experiencing horrible data from 10 pm onwards?

Ya, the battery life of the Xs Max is by no means bad, but maybe I had higher expectations for it, hahaha... In the meantime, the Xr battery life is making a good first impression on me... 48 hours already on standby, about 6 hours SOT and still 23% remaining thumbup.gif
No, at the moment, iOS 12 doesn't support dual WhatsApp.
To fix the Youtube link? If your YouTube link is "http: // youtu.be / abc123" then just put "abc123" in the YouTube HTML code
*
Whut. 48 hours standby. That's incredible. I wonder if the wife would be interested in that. Hmm. I've heard about how great the battery life is, but this is insane. Should I be regretting getting the max? laugh.gif

By the way, I remember reading someone enabling dual WhatsApp on their phone. Not sure if it's this thread or the previous one.

Could OP maybe catch all these details and put it on the first post? Quite a number of repeat questions already.

Xr nice. My sister use it. Can compare side by side. U will miss

1) the oled screen. Really different.
2) the dual camera!
*
Looking at the photos by the XR, the software does a good enough job at simulating the bokeh via software. Which leaves the only reason to have the secondary camera for zoom and non-human portrait mode...right?

Apart from those two reasons, is there actually a good reason to have the secondary camera?

On the second point, you could actually use an app...hallide iirc. Which leaves only one actual good reason for the secondary camera. No?

Guys Celcom easyphone requires upfront payment?
*
This was discussed in the Celcom iPhone thread.

Quick reference for you - if you've been a customer for more than a year, no need for upfront payment. If lesser, yes. How much? Search in that thread I mentioned. Not sure myself.
