Hi,

I bought my XS Max from Apple Shinjuku-Ku Japan last month.
Ya, the shutter sound is there and it is acceptable to me.
Also we can mute the sound.

Anyway it all boil down to individual perspectives, as for me the price is a real bargain and the shutter sound are ok with me and my photogenic friends 😆.

How do you mute the sound for Japanese set?

Anyone use this type of casing before? Enclosing front and back with tempered glass by magnet.

Wondering whether the magnets will disturb reception or not. And whether the screen will work properly or not.

The last time I used this type of casing on the iPhone 7, my GPS reception was very poor. When I changed to the normal casing it was back to normal. As for phone reception using this casing, it was ok. Did not notice any difference.

Officially all overseas set there is no warranty coverage here. This is Apple standard clause.
Claiming warranty is a mix bag, a hit and miss
Some said you need to write in to Apple first to have a reference number to claim here?
However if you buy from T&L they will handle the claims for you. Just send it back to their KL office at plaza amoda jalan Imbi

I bought my Apple iPhone XS Max 256 GB from Apple Store Sydney last month. They have confirmed that it will be covered by Apple Warranty in Malaysia and Singapore.

But why buy from Aussie where their IPhones are not exactly cheaper than my sets?
*
When we buy in Australia, as tourist we get GST rebate of 10%. It will then be cheaper. We see the prices in Australian apple store with GST.

Also FYI, the prices listed in the US apple store is without tax. So depending on which state you are in the US, you will need to pay tax which varies from state to state.

Hi,

Just to share I got mine XS Max 64 from Apple Store Shinjuku back in Oct.
So far working flawlessly.
As mentioned in here, we can mute the shutter sound.
Tested it before purchasing.

For warranty, they were not able to comment as busy attending to their international clients especially from China.

Other thing is Tax Free.. :-)

How do you mute the shutter sound? When I was in Apple Store Shinjuku, the Apple Sales person told me Japan model unable to mute camera shutter sound. Even when Live Photo enabled will get a video beep sound.
