Did anyone tried to go terminate their Turbo'ed packages, not those who are bringing the red maxis form to inform TM of terminating the Unifi service but retaining the BTU for Maxis Home Fibre?

I realised some people who walked up to the termination booth to terminate their existing streamyX or Unifi with the intention of going to Maxis due to not opting for the RM79 Unifi Basic or RM129 Unifi Lite packages got offered a special price that are not listed on the official Unifi pages.

I see some of them getting asked to sign a piece of paper that is written customer retention form and they are offered a somewhat "special pricing" that is written on the paper based on their existing packages that are priced above the Unifi Lite packages.

Did anyone experience the same? I hope this don't turn into another Maxis tailored plan fiasco again.

if you have been following this unifi thread you'd know about TM and their notorious variable pricing.

one example is for 'Unifi Pro Plan 100Mbps' (yeah that's the official name when it was first announced)
normal price RM329, but if sign up early for what TM call their 'early bird' promo, you will only pay RM309

however, to cut a long story short....
somewhere in 2017, many are paying RM189 for the same 100Mbps plus Ultimate TV pack. LOL

the thing is, unlike maxis at that time who eventually offered other customers the same value for money packages, TM don't give a shit, they won't do a video of their boss saying sorry or whatnot.. you have to fight for it to get it.
and I'm one of those water fishes who paid RM309 for 100Mbps laugh.gif
only recently did I get the price reduced after more than a month long report with many follow up emails and calls to MCMC/CFM

on a side note, a new article sponsored by TM laugh.gif

For what package?

QUOTE(lkm51 @ Nov 7 2018, 11:53 AM)
anyone got charge of RM 100 for installation fee for application of new unifi account?

I applied for RM 79 package and was told there will be a RM 100 installation fee
*
I thought standard installation is free. Is yours not standard? Unless its their way to discourage RM79 applications?

RM 79 for 30mb..

I've asked TM Chat they say my bill is not out hence they also couldnt confirm what charges is that

According to the SMS, it is upfront payment..

Have to dispute with them again once the bill is out if it is not upfront

Many other examples. Some pay RM189 100M while they promo RM199 50M. Lite was RM129 10M while new package is RM129 100M. Lots were paying RM179 30M then they promo RM139 30M.

Ok, good for you then. They should just adjust prices to be fair to users rather than making it so difficult for users. We should tell friends / other users to try to get fairer prices as many are probably unaware that it may be possible.

Been telling users to switch to 100mbps/ rm129 if
1 they dont think they need to turbo speed.
2 if they are paying more than 159 for their current speed and it is slower than 100 mbps plus the Ultimate tv package.
3. If they are paying way more than 200 just switch.

Yes, that's good. All of us should do that and help other users. We should not let them get away with this unfair pricing. How nice would it have been if all users just went and switched to RM129 in large numbers.

Also, a reminder.

If you're in high-rise, try to get price reduction to RM119 30M or RM129 50M.

If you're Lite RM129 10M, switch to RM129 100M BEST.

If you're Lite RM129 10M and got turbo to 100M, request for STD20 as the 100M BEST has it.

Some will have to renew contract. Or look at options from Maxis and Time if available.

Not some. All who switch to the 129 package have to renew contract. This directly force them to stay for 2 years with TM.

I think you better do a full reset of the router.

Make sure you know your unifi login, wifi password and setup the VLAN tagging first.

Read some weird case where NAT acceleration isn't automatically re-enabled for 850L after QOS is used and only reset can somehow fixes it (without touching the QOS after reset).
*
Thanks for all the replies guys, the problem is solved.

TM Technician came earlier, I asked him to reset the router but the speed is still below 350Mbps.

After an hour of testing and failing. He then decided to change the router with a new 850L for RM53 cuz the warranty has expired. I asked for another model of router but that's the only one available.

With the new DIR 850L, Now I'm getting more than 800Mbps on cat6, and it once maxed out at 877Mbps.. since we don't really use wifi in this house, I guess ill be sticking with this one for a lil bit more.

Yes, that is tru. The "some" I meant is the options that I stated. For example price reduction from RM179 to RM119, I don't think there is renewal of contract , right? Since they cannot get turbo anyway. Please correct me if this is wrong.

Also, requesting to add a voice pack should not have renewal of contract, I think.

Users have to judge for themselves in the end. Renew 2 years and save RM60 per month as an example may be worth it to some.

WTF?

fruitie Can tell me how did you fight this? And how did you get RM129 for 500Mb/s?

I was surfing some unifi sites (not sure why so many?) and came across this (www.unifi.co).

The advanced 30Mbps @ RM139 is still eligible for turbo i.e. 300Mbps later? But this is without STD20.

Is this an official package?
*
Thanks for the insight.

I think I'll switch my 100mbps to 30mbps and wait for it to get turbo-ed instead.

Still waiting for TM for installation.

Agree but the statement that lead to conclution should be sticky, so if we want to share we can refer to here instead inside the thread and some people come to ask same question and not do the reading and after that go away just like that

A few users have posted before about this 500M instead of 800M. It may be due to the package price you are currently paying. Or they say its due to infra.

Yes, but that's what some users were told by TM. Also, you may have to wait till next bill to see if there is price adjustment due to the 500M instead of 800M.

I think some posted that it was adjusted to RM159 instead of RM189 because 1 pack was removed. Must look back at posts to find it. I think fruitie's one is similar but with bonus of a billing mistake... Also got a post explaining it. Can search for fruitie's posts in the past 2-3 weeks, should be there.

Is your current price RM179 / 189? Previusly we thought if it is RM199 you get 800M but below you get 500M. But I think some have also posted they got 800M even if paying less than RM199. So in the end don't know what they are doing.

You should also call and ask them for an explanation and see what they say and let us know.

Here is fruitie's post with some explanation.
