Anyone else here still using DIR-850L router with 500/800Mbps turbo?

I can't get past 305Mbps on speedtest, I tried multiple speedtest sites, downloaded few stuffs. But the max download speed I get is only 39mb/s.

My connection is wired, Cat6 ethernet cab.

This is a gigabit router. It's supposed to be able to achieve gigabit speed on wired, but I don't think so anymore. I need confirmation on DIR-850L turboe'd user before I bin this thing.

same like me. i got the 500mbps. using cat 7 cable and max viz wired only 300 plus a bit. upload i can get 101. just orderd the tplink c3150. will test it and see
*
Since you're already using cat7, it must not be the cable then. How long you've been turboed for?

I'm on 800mbps plan, max upload speed i'm getting.. 203-205mbps.
I was thinking of calling unifi, but I'm really not in the mood to hear their bs excuses now.

mine cannot even support 100mbps on wired. Trash router so u better buy your own router.

I got the free 850L
*
The first time I got upgraded from 50mbps to 100mbps, I couldn't get past 90Mbps on speed test. Then I found out that my cable was Cat5.. I switched to Cat5e cable and I managed to get full speed at 106mbps. I bought new cat6 cable just for the turbo upgrade.

have u upgraded your router already? any difference?

Turbo 800mbps plan Upload Speed is 200mbps.

Unless you typo Upload with Download?

Where did you order your C3150? I thought it is out of stock at the moment. Is it v2?
Bro, your upload speed is indeed correct. It is 800Mbps download, 200Mbps upload for the turboed 800Mbps. It is not symmetrical.
*
Yep I know my upload speed is fine, but I can't get past 302Mbps download speed on speed test on cat6 wired.

already upgraded mine and huge difference. No disconnect issue at all. Only problem is sometimes asus router need to factory reset to login inside the router.
*
I see, I might get an asus too.

QUOTE(Haruji Sora @ Nov 2 2018, 01:02 PM)
LOL then it should be router issue already.

My Old TP Link Archer C7 V2 cannot go beyond 400mbps download as well. Need to upgrade to Asus RT86U and finally can hit 800+ mbps download.
*
I'm already looking for a new one right now. I just wanted confirmation from DIR-850L turbo'ed users before I blindly buy a new one and turns out the problem is on unifi's end.

But damn. these router companies, advertising their 'gigabit' routers that can't even achieve 800mbps on wired connection puke.gif .

......You sure it is not your PC issue? The microcode or heat related issue?

I got one 850L and it can get 500Mbps just fine via wired.
*
wait what?

Yeah the PC i'm testing on is quite old, it's an i7 4770k sad.gif. But it's water cooled inside a mid tower case with 3 front intakes and 3 exhaust fans i'm sure it's not that hot inside if that's what you meant by heat.

I have no idea what microcode issue is, what is it? rclxub.gif

As John said, it might not be related to router issue. Suggest u restart in safe mode with networking and rerun speedtest app. That's the quickest way to diagnose if it's a computer related microcode throttling or just a computer issue vs a router issue.
*
like you said, I went to safemode with network, the upload speed is always 204mbps.

ookla chrome 88mbps
tmspeedtest chrome 301mbps

ookla chromium 90mbps,
tmspeedtest chromium 302mbps

ookla opera 87mbps
tmspeedtest opera 302mbps

ALSO I tested my Cat5e cable too, switching ethernet ports with my Cat6 cable, same results.

=.=...........you know what....let just move straight to the possible fix.....

CVE-2017-5715 (Spectre Variant 2)
First, open a command prompt, copy paste above, disable the spectre mitigation, reboot and rebenchmark.
You can always re-enable it again....in the future?
Reboot is mandatory.
*
I did a little bit of googlin and went through regedit, cpu-z validator. I don't have spectre mitigation enabled, It's not even patched cuz I never update my windows sad.gif .

should I just give up and call TM to send their technician over? confused.gif

Contact TM via live chat and ask the agent to 'refresh' your account.

Got a feeling your account might be miscapped. It happens!
*
Heres an update. I only have one Cat6 cable connected from router to PC and not from ONU to router.

Iv just realized that Im still using the Cat5e cable that comes with the ONU. The light grey colored cable with yellow head sleeve, maybe its a very low quality cable confused.gif .

Tomorrow Im gonna buy a short 1M Cat6 or Cat7 cable and test it out, hopefully thatll fix the problem. If that doesnt wok, ill contact TM.

No.. i use a CAT6 cable from the ONU to Router. I only trust CAT6 cable
*
Thanks for letting me know.

I'm having a problem with my 800mbps, My download speedtests will never go above 340Mbps but the upload speed is fine, always around 204Mbps. 2 of My PCs are wired with Cat6 to Router..

But I forgot that my ONU to Router is still connected with Cat5e that came with the Unifi ONU. So I ordered a Ugreen cat6 cable from lazada yesterday, waiting for it to arrive.

Two questions i wanna ask:

1) What is your equipment setup? LAN or WIFI when you are doing speedtest

2) When you are doing speed test, what server did you choose?
*
sorry for the late reply I was away for a day.

1) Router is DIR-850L, wired LAN. Cables are all Cat6(my Ugreen cat6 cables arrived today.).

2)I tested on both speedtest.net and TM speed test website, on mutiple browsers, without extensions and incognito mode, with browser hardware accleretaion on&off.

I have 3 desktops on Cat6. and all of them are getting the same 340Mbps D/L and 204Mbps U/L.
Yesterday I contacted TM live chat, she reset my port but problem is still there.

But I have another problem too, Only IP that starts with certain numbers gives me 340Mbps download speed. other IPs, barely reaching 200Mbps download.

So I contacted live chat again and now they're gonna send their technical team over because the problem MUST be on their side.

Did u try to do a speedtest using the app in safe mode with networking?

That shd help to confirm if it's ur setup.
*
Yes I did, someone told me to do that few pages back. I even scanned for Microcode problem too. Also updated the LAN drivers on all 3 PCs.

2 of the PCs have decent Gigabit PCIe network cards.

I'm 99% sure that the problem is on their side.

Hi, newbie here.my unifi plan just upgrade to 500Mbps:

modem (ONU-Alcatel Lucent I-240G)
router (Tenda AC1200 Smart dual band wifi router)

i tried wireless and LAN cable , but my maximum receiving speed is capped at 100mbps? want to know what is the problem ya?
thanks
*
Make sure that your LAN cable is "Cat 5E" or higher and not "Cat 5". Because Cat 5 cable only supports up to 100mbps.

QOS is disabled for your 850L?

300 - 350 Mbps down = means NAT acceleration is not working.
Make sure nothing is in the QOS boxes, save and reboot the router.
*
Nope QoS is disabled, boxes are empty.

I only used QoS few times before, Back when I was on 30Mbps unifi.

I think you better do a full reset of the router.

Make sure you know your unifi login, wifi password and setup the VLAN tagging first.

Read some weird case where NAT acceleration isn't automatically re-enabled for 850L after QOS is used and only reset can somehow fixes it (without touching the QOS after reset).
*
Thanks for all the replies guys, the problem is solved.

TM Technician came earlier, I asked him to reset the router but the speed is still below 350Mbps.

After an hour of testing and failing. He then decided to change the router with a new 850L for RM53 cuz the warranty has expired. I asked for another model of router but that's the only one available.

With the new DIR 850L, Now I'm getting more than 800Mbps on cat6, and it once maxed out at 877Mbps.. since we don't really use wifi in this house, I guess ill be sticking with this one for a lil bit more.
