Hi guys, i just got the speed upgrade to 300Mbps recently and ran into some weird problems. Hopefully someone here can shed some light on this issue.

My house has a concealed cat 6 cable and i use this to connect between the BTU and router (D-link DIR882), with this setup my speed is capped at 100Mbps. However when i go direct from router to btu with another cable, and run connect a laptop via the concealed CAT 6 to the router i can get max speed of 300Mbps.

BTU >> Concealed Cat6 >> Router >> Laptop = 100Mbps
BTU >> Router >> Concealed Cat6 >> Laptop = 300Mbps

So basically we can conclude that there is nothing wrong with the concealed cable, but i don't quite understand what is causing the difference in speed.

for those using TP-Link C1200, what is ur firmware version? is it recommended to upgrade to v3?

You can't upgrade to V3 via firmware. You need to buy the C1200 v3.

Just connect to LAN1 on the BTU normally using a Cat 5e or Cat 6 cable. See 1st page, 1st post, green text, for troubleshooting. You need to determine your BTU and router.

SilentVampire u might want to update the FAQ of the pinned post regarding the standard installation of unifi service. Since TM does not give stb by default to all plans anymore unlike the vip and advance 30,50,100 days.

If one were to watch hypptv via stb but dont have one, had to get a used or new one separately and contact TM to
1) give hypptv login credentials[rm27 activation fee incurs]
2) bind mac address of stb

Thanks for letting me know.

I'm having a problem with my 800mbps, My download speedtests will never go above 340Mbps but the upload speed is fine, always around 204Mbps. 2 of My PCs are wired with Cat6 to Router..

But I forgot that my ONU to Router is still connected with Cat5e that came with the Unifi ONU. So I ordered a Ugreen cat6 cable from lazada yesterday, waiting for it to arrive.

Two questions i wanna ask:

1) What is your equipment setup? LAN or WIFI when you are doing speedtest

2) When you are doing speed test, what server did you choose?

My TM TP Link C1200 V1 with this firmware : 1.0.0 Build 20180403 rel.22124.

Just updated not long ago after got turbo. So far didn't see any issue, even though all the while before turbo and firmware upgrade, this router serve me well~

Hahaha, I'm not expert in this. But my S9+ only manage to obtain 250+mbps from my unifi 800MB via 5GHz...

But this C1200 is just a entry level router to my understanding. So if you want higher wifi speed, suggest to get a better router. Can refer to Page 1, green text for some suggestion~

All should be good, but recommend changing router if possible, if you are thinking of getting Wi-Fi speed above 300Mbps.

Yes, but you will need to activate it and bind the MAC address of the STB to your TM account. You can do it either by calling a technician, or possible contacting TM via LiveChat.

See 1st page, 1st post, green text for list of recommended routers. You need a better router that can support 500Mbps on Wi-Fi.

I believed you have the same problem as mine. After you verify that your BTU show 100mbps, you just make report to TM and get them to replace the BTU.

Somehow I think they hardcoded in the BTU which limit the port to 100mbps.

Unfortunately, that comes with the TM stock router. That is why many of us here prefer to use our own third-party router so that we don't have that BS on our SSID as well as other stuff like TR-069.

I haven't receive my bill yet. But I assume no because it's not my fault. And BTU is life time warranty.
