Quite perplexing that they keep the 3.5mm jack on the normal one but the more premium versions lose it wonder how much more nerfed the normal camera is compared to the pro version.

Just tested the two Mate 20 series at Huawei store. Looks and feels good Except it did feel a little fragile and light compare to Note9. Some will like its lightweight.Everything else is awesome.

As a satisfied mate 10 user. I find it hard to justified the price tag between mate 20 vs note 9. What do u guys think?

Sg price is sgd1348. When p20 Pro was first launched, Malaysia is slightly cheaper. So.. Mate 20 pro should not be more than 4099. I think it will either be 3999 or 3899.. Which is still very expensive...
Currently using 2 yrs old OP3 and planning to make a change, at 1st thought to get OP6T but heck Mate 20 offering much more features than I thought! Tempting to get the PRO ver, but price be the main factor, let see how it goes when Msia has it.

Reasonably good RRP price but rather lousy free gifts. Camera bump at back panel not as high compare to p20pro. Back panel is prettier than N9. Both the Mate series is gorgeous looking , on the back panel color and the display.

Mate 20 X is the one to go for with a headphone jack and no gimmicky in display fingerprint sensor which is still slower than tradigional ones(based on hands on reviews). A smaller notch and a bigger battery too.

By comparing the specs online, yup same camera system as M20P. I don't mind no on-screen fingerprint reader, no reverse-able wireless charging, just love how Huawei design the M20X! It's worth to wait for next month.

never use huawei, so don't really know whats bad about EMUI. whats bad compare to touchwiz? But for MIUI, I hate it coz i can't disable xiaomi bloatware apps.

The issue is not many people likes a flip case. For me, I like a cover only. And by the way, the M-Pen is damn huge compare to S-Pen, bringing it along or putting it in pocket is very troublesome
Can't deny mate20 pro is the most ambitious release by Huawei or any other brand.
Yiu will know if u have astro at home, they just keep advertising the kirin 980 3 weeks in every commercial break before the launch by invite different artist (mostly local) in the advert. Never saw this kind of lenghtly advert campaign not even from Samsung

I see supercharge is one key features comparing with screen fingerprint scanner (half way features)
The in screen touch ID have to wait for one more generation before it get more ready. At present , the Samsung S8 , 9 series and the last two Note series also have this feature except have to look at the screen to combine face recognition. Not too difficult. Other flagships brand also similar.
Huawei Malaysia also give very good offer price. If they sell it close to RM4k+ with better gift, will you buy too? Lol anyway I prefer more discount without those free gifts.

Actually only wireless reversed charging is new function. The rest others company did before.

I've played around with 20 pro and normal 20. In term of size, normal 20 is better. I'm not a fan of tall and slim phone. Overall I'd rather keep my p20 pro or buy iPhone XR later.

Is Huawei wide angle lens rectilinear or fisheye? Is Huawei lens having same FOV as GoPro 6?

I think for daylight, iPhone takes better and more true to life pics. Huawei looks oversaturated and as a result lose out on details and dynamic range.
I hope Huawei will improve on the daylight image quality by software updates. Given Huawei camera specs, one would think that it is superior in all aspects by a fair bit. But doesn’t seem to be the case.

they've also updated the EMUI, seems like they removed over 100+ settings making it more user-friendly.

No matter how good Mali looks in benchmark its not gonna beat the upcoming adreno 600series parired with SD 855. What's your current phone? If its not a major upgrade from kirin980, not worthy to me. As a proud user of Huawei, I do not 100% believe in what Huawei claim in their product launching event. Remember how exaggerate when they claimed their Gpu turbo can increase the performance by XX%?

If u pick m20p make sure u can afford the depreciation within 6 months where as the price of note 9 is likely to stay stagnant for quite a while. And is the low light capability of note 9 that bad? I don't think so as its still the best cam of Sammy.

They didnt mentioned. They just told me they have the last stock left and i just preordered without asking and left. At least i got an order form with lots of voucher lol.
Mate 20 pro…just tested it and here's my personal point of view.
Photo shooting, no doubt it's a beast (love the 0.6x wide appeature shot).
But when it comes to video recording, I'm quite disappointed. The video recorded in 4K and FHD 60fps (normal and wide appeature) are both laggy (especially wide appeature). Besides, there is 10 minutes limit while recording in 4K (perhaps huawei afraid of hardware overheat). EMUI 8 doesn't have time limit of video recording as I always shoot video more than 1 hour in 4K using my Mate 10. The only thing impresses me is the stabilization, which is really awesome!
but if u go to their 3ex site, it show drone is Q Gift, not pre-order gift.
It's for the first 1k customer (in Pavillion) and 300 in two other sites in JB and Penang as per leaked pictures in soyacincau. Unsure if they going to change it again.

Find x battery is only 3400mah. Cant compare.
M20pro is 4200mah. It did 70% in about 35mins. Fast enough
to me i like to give it a time..watch more real life experince review since most of utuber just doing paid review rite now..what important to me is the camera performance since im more to that..currently using lg v30 bcoz of the wide angel feature..
Coming from mate series, i change to lg because of wide angle. But deep inside, mate is still ny firsr choice. the speaker and battery of mate series always been best for me.
right now mate series does have wide angle, Confirm i will turn back to mate series.

Happened to me the first day of preorder. What you should do now is to call the 3ex customer service centre and tell then your problem. U can get their number from their website www.3ex.com.my but their business hrs is from mon-friday 9am to 6pm.

They should be able to verify your order sequence via your order number so should be fine.
Mate 10 pro user here; just tried out the 20& 20pro at the curve. Both screen looks superb but coming from the 10 pro.. in absolute terms, the screen on the 20 pro is bigger but its narrower compared to the 10 pro.. will be a big factor in my decision making. 🤔
Edit: M20's screen is great, looks almost full screen.

not really using it anymore, but i still have it.. having big screen estate is a nother level of multimedia experience lesser known by mass consumer.. since i used the p8max i can’t really enjoy web browsing or youtube on smaller phone, even gaming, so my phone were pretty useless as since i stop using the p8 max, i actually move most of my media consumption to ipad.. a phone has just become a phone, even my Note 8 which i finally sold off.. hence i opted to bb keyone, which a phone truly function as just a phone.. haha
but now i really didn’t expect huawei will make another gigantic phone, really tempted to it.. plus can use m pen, just can’t wait to see review, it may replace my ipad function then

I thought u can turn off the notch at the setting? Then it will be less obvious.
They should be able to verify your order sequence via your order number so should be fine.
That’s the issue here...no order number were given after I paid thru CC. There are no confirmation or failure notification via mail as well.. this is the scary part. Last page showing transaction failure but cc already deduct full amount money Via 3EX...
HUAWEI mobile FB said they can’t help as the portal page doesn’t belong to them. Ask me to contact 3EX myself.

I got mine at senheng. They seems to allocate certain stocks to each branch so try calling the one closest to you.

Just remember that the bigger the screen, the easier it'll break if drop on hard surface... Summore the self-weight is 232g which will contribute to the force of dropping...
Slap a tempered glass and anti-shock casing will make this M20X even bulkier and heavier... It'll be a totally different "gaming" & "productivity" experience altogether comparing to any ~6.5 inch devices...
Car mounting accessories will be a challenge too since it's big and heavy... don't think any magnet type car mounting can hold its 232g weight...need to get the clamp type which also kind of limited in width of opening the clamp...

ask Mi Max 1 and Mi Max 2 users about handling huge phones.. their dimensions is close to 20 x and almost as heavy.. seen someone using Max 1 survive till date with some minor scratches bcs of no case.. luckily he got tampered glass on to protect that huge screen..

Agree. I have been using almost the same size phone for many years since P8 max, honor note 8 and now honor note 10. No issue at all. And I have seen many others doing the same.

doesnt matter what size, if you drop confirm break.. in my experience, among my phone only my S7edge ever break.. i used many large phone never break.

Thx for your suggestion now! I switch from puteri branches to ss2 jst now. only Black left for now and 6 available across all senheng according to the system check by the staff there. ETA 27 Oct , staff there told me usually they will get the stock earlier but only can released to customer on ETA date.

From what I've checked with Huawei Pavillion store, if ur order skip got mentioned Talkbank B5 then it's guaranteed. Only the drone is open to all for the first 1000 customer
lifespam i thought IPS lcd is better than OLED ? yup cause that M-pen is not ONLY or build only for pro 20X, it can use with other devices too, not sure spen can use in Huawei or not .
ya i got that wrong, IPS LCD have longer life span than OLED. but OLED offers better display and more expensive to manufacture.. ahh thats too bad, i would opt for longer life span than more beautiful display

Just molested Mate 20 Pro at Huawei shop just now. What I can say is it really impressed me. The level of smoothness is very crazy. I finally surrendered and hand over my deposit. Broke my promised to not change phone this year (sigh). The black one does look nice. Like frosty black of some sort.
BTW, gesture for home & recent does not work at all when enabled. Back gesture works like charm anyway. I wonder if it caused by shop demo mode. Anyone face the same issue?

As mentioned they were giving only 100 watch and the ticket number given to me was 40 something so of Coz i get the watch. Actually as I went there with another fren I asked for another ticket. Thinking of scalping the 2nd set of phone+watch but in the end I giv up the idea and returned the 2nd ticket coz free gift has no warranty so its not easy to resell. I don't remember which floor I parked. Do note that there is no direct access from parking to the mall coz the doors are all locked. I walked out of the parking and go to the part of pavilion, with open space entrance without any doors, with lots of bars and took the escalator.

market prices worth 2k ++ and sold for rm 800, lucky my gear sport have better value.
As u mentioned it was a 2015 model and no warranty some more so for sure no one gonna pay full rrp for an open box watch. Gear watch for sure fetch better value but note 9 rrp was high but look at the price of note 9 now. Mate 10only cost Rm2.7k when launch so it Huawei is generous at least to me. Too bad I'm a guy can't use a women watch. If they give gear sport I would be using now lol.

Beauty mode in front facing couldn't be turned off in P20 series. It's the major gripe. Quite sure Mate 20 also same.
But.. I suddenly think.. What happened to sony and htc this year? Dead? Zero hype about their phone

For me personally, I think there's something you can't or really don't wanna be doing on your phone coz of the screen estate and other limitations, but that's just me

But only mate 20 and pro, they say X need wait about 27-29(tbc)

dayum... mate 20 pro more sleek and nice . you gotta test it out to appreciate it. btw can the fonts of the phone be changed? i find the font used on the camera app ugly to my preference.
I was really thinking of getting this phone, upgrading from my P10 plus to a mate 20 pro. The only issue I have is that I am into gaming and the Kirin 960 on the P10plus was a disappointment. I feel the 970 was leaps and bounds better but still fell short of the SD 845 chip. In this current economy, getting a phone is pricey and getting a phone that can last more than 2 years with good software updates is another. I hope the 980 can really deliver and be comparable to the soon to be released 855 chip. This is why i opted for the pixel 3, even though its more expensive it might last me a max of 3 years with free sub to google photos for 3 years. Has an excellent camera but sadly a soon to be outdate SD845 chip.
What made you guys choose the Mate 20/pro over other flagships?

System font can be changed but application one don't think you can.
TBH, Huawei should consider a 256MB NM card as a free gift rather than the speaker, wireless charger, the Band 5 or the drone.
It's more practical gift...seeing that we can't buy that NM card in open market ATM.
For now, it's as good as buying a Mate 20 series phone without expandable memory.
For me 128gb is more than enough, so as to most users, I think just use as is and by the time if we ever ran out of 128gb, the NM card is available perhaps

I have a 64gb memory card which keeps all things I had from phone to phone.. And with a phone with 64gb internal, so far I never ran out of memory yet but yeah it is quite filled up already, but to make sense this has been accumulated for many year, its due time to backup into computer and clean up.. Just that I'm still lazy to do it (because it hasn't full yet).. But ya, if I start fresh with 128gb storage, I think it will take me more than 2 years to fill it up

Honestly speaking the new format memory is really not a wise move. Other manufacturers may not want to use Huawei card, and causing it to unable to expand.
I think the drone is not worthy as its not that good of a drone. More of a toy drone with not much use case. Would've been nice if they were giving away older gen mavics or something instead

Agree. Enough wasn't meet everyone usage. Especially malaysia only bring in one spec. 6+128 for pro model.
I am quite heavy on using phone memory....64+128 on mate 9 too. (Mate 9 is a good device....)

The SD845 is already a capable performer and K980 is able to outperform it. No need to look at SD855 for now as this would be never ending.

You see , mostly people attack Kirin judging on Gaming performance.
I have M10P and Mi8 both on hand and using. Mi8 as my secondary device for gaming, yes SD is better in gaming and never mean that Kirin cant game.
What i try to mean is, you aint going to gaming non stop for few year. People change , everyone will reach a stage where game does no matter. When the time come, SD got no more advantage. Thats why M10P is still my daily driver.
So wanna game ? Get the cheap Mi phone is best of choice.

Is the screen resolution config differences significant?
No matter how good Mali looks in benchmark its not gonna beat the upcoming adreno 600series parired with SD 855. What's your current phone? If its not a major upgrade from kirin980, not worthy to me. As a proud user of Huawei, I do not 100% believe in what Huawei claim in their product launching event. Remember how exaggerate when they claimed their Gpu turbo can increase the performance by XX%?

however i was a huawei mate 8 user, and i miss the knock and knuckle shortcuts. i also still using a huawei mediapad m3 for watching videos and games.
both mate 8 and mediapad m3 uses same kirin 950, and they both are not great at playing heavy graphics games.

There is, it official on 11 11 2018. I heard from Huawei store that they might start pre order next week but not confirmed yet. I am also waiting. It is in my must buy list. Just hope that the promotion package is good although the mpen and case is confirmed preorder free gift

Bought from taobao. Usually for curve screen I'll just go hao5d and let them install although is a bit pricey.

Not really. The OnePlus implementation for taking screenshot is much better. Knock and knuckle is damn tedious and inaccurate. Who the heck thought of that idea...

Installation and the tempered glass comes together. Last time I did tempered glass and skin for p20 pro was around 3xx.
