Mate 20 pro…just tested it and here's my personal point of view.
Photo shooting, no doubt it's a beast (love the 0.6x wide appeature shot).
But when it comes to video recording, I'm quite disappointed. The video recorded in 4K and FHD 60fps (normal and wide appeature) are both laggy (especially wide appeature). Besides, there is 10 minutes limit while recording in 4K (perhaps huawei afraid of hardware overheat). EMUI 8 doesn't have time limit of video recording as I always shoot video more than 1 hour in 4K using my Mate 10. The only thing impresses me is the stabilization, which is really awesome!
I hope Huawei improve in their software though
you sure u shoot 4k video in 1 hour? that would take 100+gb
Actually battery test is kinda pointless for high end frag ship. I mean, if the difference is small (Around 1 hours). If the difference is big, then need to consider.
There are midrange phone with superb battery life. Even better than flag ship. Eg, Mi Max, Asus Zenfone M1 Pro. Those with 5000mAh battery.
1 hour is huge, considering nowadays flagship have much closer in battery capacity
that 1 hour can make a difference between you having charge before u sleep or charge it half way there.
no need to put midrange into the context, once u go flagship, you're wont look back. if you're fine with mid range, you won't even enter here.
You suggest that I should go back to mid range which can easily get 10 hours of SOT? No, right? I mean I cannot be too sensitive to battery life, coz there is midrange phone out there totally beat Mate 20 Pro to the ground in term of battery life.
That's why I said it is pointless. Else I will suffer on OCD in battery life after change to mate 20 pro. haha..
why put midrange into the topic? if you like ur midrange so much you won't spend rm3k into mate 20 pro

My very brief comments on the 20X after a few days wth it
Features that i like:
1. Great battery life - easily 10 to 11 hours SOT without gaming. My tasks mainly on internet stuffs - youtube, whatsapp, mail, tweeter, facebook, newsfeeds, mail etc 2. Nice big display - I love big screen phones. I had no issues carrying it inside my 3/4 shorts or long pants side pockets 3. M Pen - a good addition to the phone but sadly it simply cannot match the capability of the Samsung's SPen. A single charge took about 3 + hours and it can easily last me 3 days of use
No obvious cons found yet
Sadly this cannot replace my other Note 9 as daily driver Satisfaction level 8/10 vs 9.9/10 on Note9
