I think I will pass for the pre-order stage to wait for more review on its camera capability, then hoping for another round of promotion on year-end / xmas sell.
I am in dilemma between mate 20 and mate 20 pro. Overall looking mate 20 looks freaking good especially with the waterdrop notch, and I particularly like the back fingerprint that also serve for other purpose - like capture photo. However it is not OLED screen and don't have IP68 resistance standard - I miss the ability to wash my phone with my Xperia last time
Mate 20 pro win in every aspect except on the ugly notch, slightly smaller screen size and I am not a fan of the visual on-screen fingerprint - I think I will just keep to the facial recognition then.
i also don like the notch there, but isnt there a setting to turn it off? then the notch will be less obvious. i see... then u better wait for another round of promo. who know lazada might have 11-11 promo that give out few hundred voucher?
I believe P20 has this feature, therotically it should also apply to mate 20 pro, but so far I haven't see any article/video on disabling the notch. However with the disabling, the display ratio seems to be even lower
here, around 1min mark. it look so much better without the notch. lowered display ratio,no choice... have to sacrifice abit for the beauty of this mate 20 pro.
Thank for the video! Yes, indeed it looks damn gorgeous now!!
Getting the green tint issue on the right corner of the screen after 2 days of usage. Anyone else experiencing this and has anyone did an exchange with Huawei yet?
Seems like this issue is getting more and more wide spread, and Huawei had just responded to this - although in a very vague way. You can take a look here
After all the noise on 'the hulk' mate 20 pro, I decided to go for mate 20 x and got it this Monday from SenQ. I felt the deal was super nice especially if you are purchasing it with Citibank card as it came with even more extended warranty and more free gift.
I missed the online pre-order, but from the 2 SenQ shops I visited, both of them said that free gift are still available till stock last, most likely will till end of this month, so whoever are still interested, can give SenQ a try
Total freebie = Mate Pen + Flip Case (standard Huawei pre-order gift) + cable, iRing and 10000 powerbank with Citibank Visa credit card Total warranty = 3 years (1 year from Huawei, 2 years from SenQ with P1 membership + Citibank Visa card)
Edit - I also made my first ever unboxing video on this, but I did it quite badly, so do bear with me
