tempted, but their pricing is too much. They want to fight with apple price. I wonder who will buy, if their price is same like samsung, it will be a great hit!

European people are smart people.

Most of them regards Huawei is very good brand and buy their flagship phone at expensive price in Europe.

It's not easy to impress European, I m glad to see Asian products are well praised by them.
*
coz most of them thought this phone designed by European, and the Leica brand name it carries.

QUOTE(Ah hao @ Oct 28 2018, 12:58 AM)
Got Mate 20 Pro today morning. Been playing for it the whole day.

Pros -

1. look at battery charging is actually super satisfying.  (screen will show charging % for first few second, move super fast)

2. twilight color sooooooooooooo pretty.

3. picture taken are very impressive in general, especially Ultra Wide Angle. Macro mode are superb as well.

4. excellent face id (with raise to wake function)

5. Ultra snapshot - when screen is off, u press 2 times volume down button, it will instantly take a picture. Blazing fast and autofocus are all focus correctly. But i hope Huawei can put an option that the phone secretly took the picture without turning the screen and camera app on. (im not doing anything against the law tongue.gif )

Cons -

1. finger print scanner not so good. i dont mind the pressure pressing thing, but the fail rate are quite high. it need certain angle to make it work. In my last phone, i register my right hand big thumb twice in 2 different fingerprint, to make it almost 100% success rate, but Emui will prevent user doing it by showing "same fingerprint registered"

2. when zoom in photo u took, u will clearly sees that the photo were over processed. my friend's white cotton shirt were found shining (like silk surface) when zooming in.

3. another camera problem - front selfie doesnt support potrait mode(background blur) ? Already on master AI. Cant select background blur, dont know why.

4. after use for a day, i think this phone is a bit oversize for me. previously using samsung s7 edge.

5. in auto brightness, screen a little bit too bright for my preference.

6. another camera problem - timer is deep in camera setting, quite troublesome, wish this setting is on camera interface. samsung have a very good function when u showing ur palm to camera, it begin 3 seconds countdown and take the picture, i miss this function a lot.

7. Twilight back cover are fingerprint magnet. Love and Hate situation here, beauty with grease on it.

Overall, i love this phone. Up to my expectation. Will use this phone totally naked with no SP and back cover, hope it wont scratch that soon biggrin.gif

After verify with all the source here, my panel is LG and and batch 51.there is some green tnt leak on the sides. What I don't like is how the sales people handle it, how can they act dumb and said 'is normal". Coming from iPhone and thinking they are different this time, what a big let down from huawei. If issue like this happen at apple Malaysia they will immediately give a 1 to 1 change. Now spending so much and need to rush here and there and argue with the frontdesk just for a change.

Those who wanna replicate the testing for the screen issue can either
1) use the dark interface color in battery settings and open up the phone dialer
2) open up Spotify

Make sure the brightness is set to the lowest
*
Another method for this who wanna test.

Go to app store search for Rgb color mixer

Installed it and on color R/G/B put the value to 15, then view it in the dark room.

The dumb one is the individual. Yesterday i went to huawei in pavillion asking for nm card. I asked the guy and he was damn clueless what is nm card. Lol.

Not try to back anyone. But I have experienced RMA with few manufacturers, among them are Apple, Samsung, HTC.
For apple, since here is just authorised service center, they won't simply give immediate replacement unless the issue has been officially announced by Apple and there is a replacement program for it. For normal RMA, yes they normally give 1 to 1 replacement (can be new unit or Apple refurbished unit) but only after they consult the 2nd tier support which is normally based in SG.

Since u said the huawei sales people handled it poorly, i am pretty sure those sales people at Apple reseller outlet cant do much better except to ask you to go to service center.
*
Guess have to wait for the official announcement, if huawei don't handle this nicely and assume is "normal" then I got nothing much to say about this brand anymore. Got a new phone less than a week and then send for screen replacement is OK?

How to verify the batch no and OLED brand?
*
Download device info HW, then at touch panel there is a long number of codes, in between the lines if u saw "LG" then is definitely an LG panel as for batch number would be on the same codes last two digit. Refer to the earlier page for the sample info. As for my case the green tint is bare minimum and is not as serious as some other users but time will tell.

Just returned my phone plus all free gifts. According to sales person, no instruction or solutions from Huawei Malaysia yet whether any replacement, refund etc no matter where u purchased. All staff have no clues at all and not dare to say much on this phone.

Refund will be online transfered in 3 days.

Try Mate 20X, too big for me to put in the pant. Lol...

Where u did that? Service centre at pavilion? U paid by cash or credit card?

Well this is their current SOP. WAIT few more days till their country director back from China. May be some announcement will be made. Once u repair now, no more u turn.
*
For sure I won't want any repair. The only thing I want now is refund. No energy to argue with the sales or service team. Who cares about their manger or WHAT so ever, internal issue please keep to yourself within the company.

i sent back to them just now that included all freebies, and waiting for my refund. Paid via CC but they insisted will bank in within 7 days.

Other countries are offering 1 to 1 exchange and Huawei Malaysia just keep quiet about it.

so much hustle via calls/ arguments/ travel back and forth/

totally no mood to argue anymore.

u guys better go pavilion SC to file the report coz at the moment they said only a few affected. My guess is most didn't notice the issue yet as we use the phone in bright day light.
