hi, not able to get the answer on TIME FAQ.
Already completed my 24 months contract.
Request for termination via self care.

Do I need to return the router?
If no need to return, anything useful with the router, to sell maybe any 2nd hand market for this?

Only 100Mbps users get CGNAT-ed.

I guess that's the reason why my port forward failed

Once again I found that something is wrong with Time international link, it's been slow with high latency again O_o. Anyone else have issue currently?

Yup. Noticed sudden slowdown to US Servers. Currently running some tests to confirm where the issue is coming from. I can only suspect its Singtel is experiencing network congestion.

TIME use their own Fibre cabling which is different from TM's Unifi....so you can have both running concurrently actually.

If your condo has fiber prelaid by the developer & you cant concurrently run both, viewing usually one condo unit will only have one cable going in.
If your condo does not have fiber prelaid by the developer, which means service provider will pull in their own infra, then you can have both running at the same time.

Thanks.

Is the Asus AX58BT better than the TP Link TX3000E?

I'm thinking Asus might be better hence, the RM80-ish higher price tag, but Asus mesh systems are also more expensive should I upgrade the router and all too.

My Wifi 6 Huawei router is just outside my room but I'm only getting less than 250MBs (My TIME 500MB/s plan) via my old Asus PCE AC88 PCIE Wifi receiver

Probably minor difference, maybe even none

Both are using the same Intel AX200 chipset under the hood

So, just get the cheaper option since it's basically the same

The difference of the antenna might make a difference but I don't know tbh

Personally I would just get the cheaper one and not worry about it too much

I think the PCE-AX58BT price has dropped quite a bit

https://shopee.com.my/ASUS-PCE-AX58BT-AX300...7751.7728035105

Anyways, I have both of them. The ASUS got a slightly chunkier heatsink and nicer antenna. Never compared their performance but it should be pretty similar.

QUOTE(JLJQ @ Mar 25 2023, 04:36 PM)
Hey guys & sifus, would like to get some advice on which Time package to go with (100 Mbps Wifi 5 vs 500 Mbps Wifi 6).

Currently, I am in a household of 4 users on the 100 Mbps plan and never had any issues in terms of speed.

I will soon be moving into an 850 Sqft condo, just me & my wife (2 users).

The router can be placed pretty centrally, so I doubt speed & range will ever be an issue for us (pretty standard usage: for work, watch YouTube/Netflix, casual gaming, & some IoTs connected).

My question is, will Wifi 5 or Wifi 6 matter/make any difference for our usage? Or would it be worthwhile to future-proof with the 500 Mbps Wifi 6 plan?

I personally think that speed is unnecessarily much for us (given that 100 Mbps worked fine when it was 4 users), but just unsure about the Wifi 5 vs Wifi 6 relevancy. Any help would be appreciated!

Would you consider to get a second hand WIFI 6 router?

sifus please share if there is a way to replace the whole HG8145X6 with aftermarket router+modem? (without changing to bridge mode)

asides, for 1gbps plan. is the X6 1G lan port sufficient for that bandwith? will have any bottleneck? like when speed test using lan cable cant get 1000mbps above, with cat6 and 2.5G network port.
