QUOTE(kmrdeva @ Apr 21 2025, 11:14 AM) Never bothered with a stock ISP router before, even from Streamyx days. Have been using a tri-band wifi 6 Asus mesh (2 units wirelessly linked) with my Time modem/GPON unit for the past 4 years with zero issues. can share the model? I notice for the apartment i stay now. actually with one wireless router is enough to cover the whole unit. i actually may just need one very powerful wireless router to cover the entire house for wireless connection. Looking for any wifi 6/7 that is at affordable price with very good signal and speed for this purpose.

QUOTE(Asgaard @ Apr 13 2025, 02:19 PM) Time 200mbps enough for 2 person Netflix streaming and gaming and phone browsing fb/insta? Thinking to subscribe more than sufficient, can be overkilled already. I am on 600Mbps also 2 persons using it now. Switching to 200Mbps in Dec 2025 after contract ends.

It performs so good that I cannot find strong justification to upgrade to wifi 7 mesh yet.

Blacktubi got give explanation why the price is expensive now. They secretly convert to v2 then increase the price.

QUOTE(westlife @ Apr 23 2025, 06:42 PM) ic... really expensive for a wifi 6 mesh.. AI answer. The XT8 has a hardware upgrade to V2 in 2023, with a new Broadcom 1.7GHz Quad-Core CPU. The older V1 version had a 1.5GHz Quad-Core CPU. However, the amount of RAM remains the same at 512MB DDR3 memory.

QUOTE(westlife @ Apr 23 2025, 06:42 PM) ic... really expensive for a wifi 6 mesh.. Cause it can deliver 800Mbps on the mesh node on wireless backhaul reliably

QUOTE(blacktubi @ Apr 23 2025, 08:47 PM) Cause it can deliver 800Mbps on the mesh node on wireless backhaul reliably Yeah, I get the full 600mbps on my secondary node despite it being almost 10m away behind a wall from my primary node. Both nodes are connected to each other on their dedicated 3rd band at > 2Gbps. QUOTE(westlife @ Apr 23 2025, 06:42 PM) ic... really expensive for a wifi 6 mesh.. You get what you pay for with the higher end router models, I guess. This post has been edited by kmrdeva: Apr 23 2025, 10:26 PM

Becos the greatest problem for wireless backhaul is that the latency can be bad sometimes when connected to the mesh child nodes even speedtest may appear strong. QUOTE(westlife @ Apr 24 2025, 10:31 AM) Use speedtest or fast app to test. You mentioned that Speedtest was not a good test for latency. So, try fast.com?
