Hi LYW, need an advice
I have a 300mbps (now 600mbps) account non-contract, I don't want to pay the penalty but i'm able to clear out the outstanding bill if i'm continue using it.

Is it ok for me to pay the outstanding bill and transfer the account to someone else? with 1 month free on me of course. bcoz my new rental house dont't have Time fiber.

Thanks
*
If yours is non-contract, why is there a penalty?

Hi, first of all login to selfcare portal to check your contract period, if no longer in contract you can terminate by giving 1 month advance notice.
If it's still under contract, then you can do ownership transfer.

Yes, can barely load twitter tweets from web browser.

There's around 40% packet loss to Taobao.com and many other China sites from TIME.

I complain to MCMC / TIME since a year ago and their respond is they can't do anything about their upstream provider.

Can't wait to terminate this horrible service.

Totally agree. I left TIME last year after experiencing similar issue for months and their canned response from both their CS and technical team. Never looked back after that.

Well, let's do a simple ping test comparison with twitter.com which is a top 10 most visited website in Malaysia.

Which provider are you using now? Been contemplating between Unifi and Maxis for a while.

Currently using Allo City Broadband (AS45410) since I have a lot of choice here in Cyberjaya. I wish other areas have more choice of fibre ISPs as well. MCMC should mandate this and also provide incentive to do so.

Their upstream providers are NTT and Cogent so no more dealing with TIME's upstream provider, Singtel.

https://bgpview.io/asn/45410#upstreams-v4

Their public IP users doesn't use PPPOE but uses IPOE meaning less overhead.

Here is my ping to Twitter using Allo City Broadband:

Personally as someone who came from Maxis (on Maxis Own Infra) to TIME
First thing I felt immediately after changing is the much worse experience to CN servers

Will consider jumping back once contract ends

This is why I implemented site2site for my 2 homes using Time and Unifi respectively where both have 5G as back up. Routers in both homes are also connected to subscribed VPN service via multiple OVPN sessions with rule-based routing based on destination Ips.

This is to ensure internet connection can be routed either to use Time or Unifi or 5G depends on situation

Allo seems like a really decent small provider with great connection quality. Heard many good things about them as well.

I did a Wireguard configuration now as the performance is better

That's why I can do a TIME and Unifi comparison just now

I thought their CityBroadband international routing was pretty bad. So far, I haven’t seen anyone using Allo in my lorong.

I came from TM-Maxis. I remember local ping and Singapore was lower after I switch to Time. I don’t use China services that much so it didn’t affect me. Only until I was in China and tried to use Tailscale to VPN back. China Unicom was working with some packet loss but China telecom had really bad speed and high packet loss.

Might consider switching back to Maxis if things do not improve after contract over. My Taman area has maxis infrastructure but no coverage yet afaik.

I am on the same boat as well, considering Maxis 1Gbps@RM159 promotion.

Implemented similar thing as well. If Allo have routing issue, I can reroute affected traffic to my parent's UniFi via OpenVPN/WireGuard and same goes if my parent's UniFi having routing issue, I can easily reroute their affected traffic to my Allo.

This proved useful when I was using TIME previously.

Yeah. Only downside is the rm10 public ip. Any idea what’s the price for maxis own infrastructure and if the promotion apply for maxis own infra

No idea but I imagine it should apply to NGBB coverage as well
