Where do you find this? There's nothing on my selfcare portal and my contract has ended for a year.  sad.gif

It popped up when I logged into selfcare earlier today. I was also surprised about it

Hi, I would like to retreat my statement that Huawei Optixstar HG8145X6-10 not implementing 802.11k/v/r protocol.
My previous test showed that my device didn't switch between SSID from main router and 2nd router due to default setting of the
Cascade Link Threshold value is too low, i.e., 200kbps.
Meaning that if the device's data transfer rate lower than 200kbps then it will switch to another SSID that is stronger.
After I increased the cascade link threshold from 200kbps to 40000kbps, my device able to switch between main router and 2nd mesh unit's SSID seamlessly.

Conclusion is Huawei Optixstar HG8145X6-10 is compliant to Easymesh and able to switch between SSID seamlessly.

All Huawei ONTs support 802.11k/v protocol.

Thanks.

Hi, my contract expire on Nov 2023 and i received call from TIME today to renew the contract. They offered cash back another RM10 (which gonna total up =RM20) or change router and forfeit RM20 cash back.

I am still currently using the old cube mesh router by TIME few years back. Should I change route by TIME or take the cash back and buy router myself?

P/S: Would like to upgrade the router abit as current 1 performance so so, coverage quite weak.

AND any recommended router? IM currently on 500mbps plan.

Hi, you cant take the cash back. Recommended to buy your own router/mesh systems.

Ah nice, TIME offered me RM119 for 500Mbps instead of RM139 if I renew my contract, and it's throughout the two years of contract.

With all due respect, nothing new. I already saw this offer back in March - April period when my renewal was nearing.

I chose to stay with 100mbps and take the free 1 month + free device deal with 24 month renewal.

Would it be difficult to configure the setting own self?

It is easy if you have configure router before as most of the consumer router all the settings are similar, just get your TIME internet PPPOE ID and PW at the selfcare then you are good to go. If have more budget can go for TP-Link AX55 too. If you want more premium can look for Asus RT-AX3000

I think having two units of Huawei Optixstar HG8145X6-10 will have better coverage than just one unit of Tplink AX55 or Asus wireless router RT-AX3000 if you are living in double storey house

Hi, OP. do you know usually how long it takes for the fiber deployment to live? because my apartment here just got contractor from Time deploy the cable and mount the termination panel here and they completed it last month right before independence day, but until now i still don't see my apartment being listed in service coverage.

user posted image

I do plan to switch to Time on early next month if possible as my contract with existing one ends this month.

It really depends, but usually in 2 months time. Some work outside the building like ringcut, OLT patching, system declaration etc. still need to be completed.

Unifi New 2023 Pricing

100 Mbps - RM89/month
300 Mbps - RM139/month
500 Mbps - RM159/month
1 Gbps - RM289/month
2 Gbps - RM319/month

Now Time looks like the expensive one with 100Mbps at RM99/month

Time-limited sign up but permanent 100Mbps for new sign ups. In addition, current 30Mbps Unifi users paying RM89/month also get upgraded to 100Mbps while RM89/month stays as their permanent price.

Basically free speed upgrade to existing Unifi users. The RM99/month most likely placeholder so that TM share price doesn't drop drastically due to new MSAP implemented.

And finally TIME got competition for cheapest 100Mbps plan.
