Hi guys, if I get a 100mbps plan, what would my actual achievable connection speeds be like, both wired and wireless? As I understand it, wired it should be close to 100mbps while for wireless it may be further away.

I means to say, if I do a speed test over WiFi on the 100mbps network, what will my actual speed be like? Like on Unifi, at 500mbps but achievable speed is much lower when doing speed test over WiFi. However for wired connection, my achievable speed is very close to 500mbps.

Got 100mbps installed today. Speed test with laptop/phone/iPad in the next room over WiFi...getting more than 100mbps comfortably! It starts around 150mbps then drops to around 105mnps at the end. Using 5ghz. Normal?

I’m very Impressed with the speed, but the reach is a bit poor...only 5mbps using 2.4ghz at the 3rd room (furthest away).

I have an issue I hope someone would be able to help me out with.

Initially, when Time setup the Internet at home, there are two created:

xxx_5g (5GHz only)
xxx (2.4GHz only)

However, now I see that xxx (which is supposed to be for 2.4GHz channel) also has a 5GHz version under the same name. I'm not sure if this has caused some issues as sometimes the xxx network has only 1 bar, when in the past should be higher. I assume it is because the device is connecting to the 5GHz band, and only to 2.4Ghz when it drops off.

How can I solve this? I did not tinker with anything so not sure how come it's like that. I am also pretty sure that when the setup was done, there was no issue. This issue is more recent (last 2 weeks).

This was my default setup. Depends on technician I guess. Maybe an oversight.

Any chance the lowest tier either:

1) Cheaper pricing than RM99 for 100mbps
2) Faster speed than 100mbps for RM99

Guys, when I login to Time portal I got an offer to either:

1) Renew 24 months contract (free Wifi 5 Mesh device); or
2) Upgrade to 500mbps/1gbps/2gbps

Currently I'm on 100mbps. No issue with speed. There is a bit of a dead spot in the last room though.

Is there any catch to renew a further 24 months, and get the free mesh device? Any hidden fees?

Also, will I get a better offer if I instead wait until my 24 months contract is over? My initial contract period is Aug 2021 - Aug 2023.

Edit: I see T&C mention I can pay RM10 more to get 300mbps with free mesh device. But in the "upgrade" webpage, I can't see this option.

Edit: When I hit 20 months I’ll probably just take the RM99 discount offer. I have zero issues with 100mbps speed. But 3x speed for RM10 extra does sound enticing.

Guys, if I renew for 24 months, I can get 1 free Wifi5 mesh node and 1 month free.

For the mesh node, will they charge any delivery / installation fee?

I understand but I'm getting it more for the 1 month free on renewal, that's RM99 back in the pocket.

I will not likely use the mesh node anyways since I do not have connectivity issues at home.

Any idea how much the reduction will be in September? I just started a new 24 months contract for 100mbps (after the previous 20 months contract, before it ended on 24th month) and got one month free and a free device.

I renewed mine recently (after just 20 months, didn't need to wait for the full 24 months), got 1 month free and a free mesh node.

Anyone know what's the difference between the new Wifi6 router vs the older Wifi5 router for the basic 100mbps plan? Is it better? Is the signal stronger, and can it travel/penetrate further?

No just login into the Time portal, there's a popup there.

I got this same offer back in April 2023 (at my 20th month, my 24 month anniversary would have been August 2023).

However, in my case, when renewing 100mbps @ RM99, I got one month free AND one Wifi 5 mesh unit.

Assuming Time revises the prices as such:

a) RM99 = 300mbps / 500 mbps

b) RM69 = 100mbps

For those on a 100mbps @ RM99 contract, will we be moved automatically to Package A or Package B, or we remain status quo until the contract expires?
