After I saw they install that unifi white box on the pole, I quickly call my TM agent. He said my lorong is still not activated. A couple of week later he call again to set an installation date. From what he told me, TM bascially is going haywire right now because they kene tekan by Gobind. tongue.gif LOL. TM got too much in their hand right now. If not, my lorong will get unifi sooner. It is late by a month according to the original plan.

Dect phones last a long time. The only things that die in those are the rechargeable batteries, which are easily replaced. Or if you have a regular phone, you can use that too.
*
Yup... I'm using that too. ^^

I should move to 129 if i ntended to stay at unifi..why pay 20 more just to free myself from the 2 yrs contract right. Warranty ?? but they told me no new router wor...i ask this thru online chat and also phone, same answer....
Haizz..
*
Well... move on with 100Mbps with RM129 per-month. smile.gif
Router and STB ==> extra 1 year warranty, if the device not working correctly, call TM helpline and they will dispatch technician come over to check, they will replaced it if it faulty.

QUOTE(iamoracle @ Oct 29 2018, 12:58 PM)
BTU comes with lifetime warranty. Just got mine replaced at no extra cost or new contract.
*
Yup... I forgot it, only Wireless router and STB with extra 1 year warranty.
BTU is lifetime warranty and we need to return it to TM if no longer use their services.

I mod fan by using two fans from spoiled PSU then solder the wire on USB cable from spoiled mouse then cover the soldered part with heat shrink tube.

Mount it by using cable tie hanging on antenna.

FOC but not looking good as the one sold on shopee. sweat.gif

Don't blame user for not reading FAQ. Even customer service don't read. My last call when I ask about the quota and said not implemented yet this year, I was told that is not right. I said its in the FAQ and was told not so, its about add-on quota. I had to ask the customer service to open the FAQ on their website and to read FAQ #9 and I had to explain what it meant. I felt I was the customer service at that time...

Been looking around at taobao and the Asus router price there really attract my attention~

Lets put aside the warranty, wifi channels list, just wanna compare the wifi coverage area between these models? Which one has the most wide coverage with highest speed?

RT-AC86U > RT-AC5300 > GT-AC5300

For AC86U, price around RM600, RT-AC5300 around RM850 and GT-AC5300 around RM1500. All directly buy from taobao, with 3 years Asus China warranty. 1st year 1 to 1 exchange. The only setback is need to send it back to China if issue arise(touch wood).

My purpose is simple, I just hope that 1 router can cover most of my house area, with the highest speed deliver via wifi. Since AC5300 is a Tri-Band router, will the dual 5GHz band provide wider coverage as compare to AC86U 5GHz?

Hi Sifus,

I have been upgraded to 500Mbps and want to try to torrent at full speed by downloading
CentOS-7-x86_64-Everything-1804 torrent but seems like the download wasn't at full.

My setting for utorrent client

Listening port : 44588

Untick Apply rate limit to uTP connections
Bandwidth already put max no of conn = 2200
Max peers to connected torrent = 1100

Untick Enable bandwidth management [uTP]

but the speed seems averaged around ~200Mbps

Just wanna know why ya?

THANKS!

Are you saying existing router and STB get extra 1 year warranty if changed plan to 100Mbps RM129/mth?

What I understand is there will be no new equipment given to existing subscribers even though you signed a new 24 months contract.

My PC is connected thru Prolink cat5e cable to a switch and the switch (tp link sg1024d) is then connected to my Asus RT-AC86U router. The WAN from BTU and LAN link speed to the switch shown as 1Gbps though.

Yes... existing equipment (except BTU for already in lifetime warranty) will be automatically given extra one year warranty, too bad I forgot to ask about the wireless dect phone. doh.gif

No new equipment given when sign-up (or change to) 100Mbps package with 2 years contract. If the existing equipment experiencing problem, contact TM helpline first to get technician come over, they will replace it if identify the equipment is faulty. I wish to swap to white STB... too bad cannot as it still working fine. dry.gif
