QUOTE(lol0919 @ Sep 19 2018, 10:51 AM) actually they don't care, i mentioned the same thing with live chat support yesterday, that it is not fair to us, guess what he reply to me? He said "he don't even have streamyx and unifi on his area....", is he means that it is even not fair for him? damn, what is the point to telling me this? he don't have unifi means he is not paying higher amount for slow speeds, and not annoyed by TM arrangement on turbo upgrade and unhelpful support staff, ... He got no locus standi at all |

QUOTE(nimbus kayano @ Sep 20 2018, 12:19 AM) Do you think it’s fair that we are charge our full subscription amount even though we are not turboed? Of course not, but TM is cunning, they have bunch of clauses in tncs allowing them to do so. If the government were to interfere, glcernment may seek to prevent certain draconian clauses from being legally enforce-able, retrofit Unfair Contract Term Act in malaysia ideally. If im not mistaken, they even have a clause that they reserve the right to modify tncs without prior notice, savage af.Because of the new RM129 /100Mbps, those who are paying RM189 and more should be rebated until they are turboed.. anybody brought this up to MCMC? QUOTE(lov3u99 @ Sep 22 2018, 11:30 PM) I am currently using Maxis 10Mbps plan, thinking of change to Unifi since they offer free IPTV but the it need STB to watch on TV? If u dont want pay additional rm30 monthly for ultimate pack, i suggest u get used set top box instead, ask TM to activate you hypptv id and bind your stb mac address. Watching via stb wont encroach thr bandwidth of your subscribed download speed. Additional 8mbps iirc is dedicated for hypptv? It's like having 2 inlet pipes for water supplyIf no, then we can only watch it using phone? |

QUOTE(jimhorn @ Sep 25 2018, 01:42 PM) I just tried to flash the C1 firmware that can be downloaded from D-links website and luckily it will fail to upgrade firmware as the TM provided is C2 which is different. Which variant is the one w/o mu-mimo? TM c2 or DLINK OEM c1?So I guess those with C2 firmware just have to stick with having @unifi with their SSID |

Credits to SilentVampire guide to improve coverage:
Generally, put a router at the center of the house, and don't put any mirrors, or electrical equipment, or microwave, or near any power lines or cable. That are general tips. For signal strength, you can try Wifi Analzyer on Android phones. For iOS, there is only one app that can do that, and it is AirPort Utility app. Proper field survey requires specialized equipment and software Question: I was asking how to carry out wifi field survey to improve coverage, the equipment and software involved and requesting guide on placement or setup or positioning of access points or main router on 1st page to obtain optimum coverage throughout whole premise, and also smartphone apps to recommend to test signal strength to find weak spot in a house. |

Before I begin, at the end of the day every man for himself, dont call TM for advice on what is best for you, if you think what is ideal for you, go for it, walk the walk, take the path. Whether is it worth it[the resources: time, money etc incurred to get what u want]? Answers may differ from one another. From what Ive seen here in lowyat forum, anything is possible. Question is are you willing to do it only. Negotiation to obtain desirable deals may take up to months. Actually this applies for other things in life too.
QUOTE(lolwhat @ Sep 25 2018, 03:40 PM) Hello. I'm a long time Unifi subscriber since 2015 and I need advice. I've been paying the full RM240 monthly bill for 30mbps and since they reduced their price for the same package (RM129), am I entitled for the new price? I've been paying the old billed amount for months since they reduced it. Should I go to the counter and demand explanations? Should I lodge a report to MCMC? Should I just terminate current subscription and resub using the new price? Please advise. Note: I live in a high rise building so I'm not entitled for any upgrades since most high risers are exempted from those upgrades. So any advice/suggestion related to upgrades will be disregard. QUOTE(kochin @ Sep 25 2018, 03:43 PM) so frustrating dealing with TM. long story short, appreciate forummers advise here. contract ended already for my 30Mbps package long time ago. TM cannot answer nor advise when my speed upgrade gonna happen. so i opt to "downgrade" to the 100Mbps package. but they didn't offer me the free DECt phone and other stuff for new customer. trying to reach them is to no avail at all. lines constantly busy even though waiting for more than 25 minutes. walk in to tm point also need wait 2 hours. so my question is when they do come and install/upgrade/downgrade my 30Mbps to 100Mbps, would they change my modem/router and STB? my STB is really old box. silver box not the white type. notice it's not very stable also. thanks. QUOTE(hannchua @ Sep 26 2018, 10:20 PM) I would insist not to forcefully do it. They don't really care if you threaten unless you are Dato' / Tan Sri This routes back to bargaining power, small personal subscriber noise not loud enough, if all small personal subscribers come together, including [@cannavaro} who owns 3 accounts, then this speaks volume. Well, don;t just rely on government or Mr Gobind alone, voice out yourself too. He's supposed to take neutral stand, if you stay silent, he can't help you. Like a thief break into your house, police don't patrol your area on a daily basis, if coincidence seeing a thief break into your house, then u lucky, you no need call 999;else? QUOTE(amirul hafizz @ Sep 26 2018, 11:58 PM) unifi tv can use remote but if u used android box, u need air mouse remote. can't friendly like's unifi tv stb box remote. hihihihi who told you that? Some even support smartphone remote. TV box nowadays are so advanced. Features like 4k streaming, chromecast, miracast, bluetooth 5.0, 5ghz wifi, just to name a few all of which TM unifi tv box lacks. The only upperhand unifi box has against TV box is the dedicated bandwidth vlan 600@8Mbps if im not mistaken, which won't eat up your subscribed speed, say 30Mbps. unifi box is the one that is outdated. Check out Eeeweepad, thousandfind, anbuokeji and ricebox just to name a few, haha no free publicity, decrypt yourselfThis post has been edited by imalmighty: Sep 27 2018, 12:28 AM |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 27 2018, 12:18 AM) To compare UniFi TV box with an ordinary Android box? Really? It's like asking a lightweight boxer to fight heavyweight opponent in a cross weight class match or ask for a serena williams vs rafael nadal match. I'm using an Android box which has UniFi TV installed too. |

QUOTE(amirul hafizz @ Sep 27 2018, 12:44 AM) u mean, if i used android box i can watch all channel in unifi tv. b'coz other channel can watch only via stb box. i mean unifi tv, not hypptv everywhere. Or u mean unifi TV box's apk vs hypptveverywhere apk installed in android box? U are not comparing box to box, but comparing app-to-app is it? QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 27 2018, 12:53 AM) What's the matter with watching HyppTV Everywhere? It's the same subscription as your UniF TV box. +1, haha, TM really need to step up their game, falling behind Axxxo for centuries. Channel lineup, sports especially and no video recording PVR function are unifi's weak spotsIn my Android box, I have both HyppTV Everywhere and Astro Go installed. Also I have the flexibility to install whichever apps I like. This post has been edited by imalmighty: Sep 27 2018, 01:02 AM |

QUOTE(shahie @ Sep 27 2018, 06:27 AM) mine that day rm139 for 30mbps is whole life, never expired. so this turbo-ed should be the same. i'm with TM since 90's during dial up era. The bonanza only last for 24 months excuse is merely trick to have existing users stay at their current higher pricing for the same speed be it, 30M or 50M. They use promotion excuse to trick prebonanza customers into thinking their current deal is better in the long run when in fact new customers already enjoyed for at least 24 months. Shall they stick with their existing deal, they overpay for 24 months, rm179 or rm199 w/ voice for 30M, shall they terminate, they kena 24 months contract pula, some cant even terminate coz still serving contract. Before the bonanza fiasco, most 30M and 50M subscribers were given free speed bump to next tier speed 50M and 100M during thank you campaign at no expense from customers if infra allows. To put out fire from bonanza deal for new customers, they introduced the rm10 rye 2017 promo. The prebonanza customers are conned again into thinking what with RM10 surplus monthly, they are getting "better deal" in the long run, although given "ultimate tv pack" and "free call" whatsoever which are not really needed and not harnessed by certain customers whereby what they seek is price reduction until rm139 for 24 months at least too. TM is cunning in this regard, they refused to give out benefit to prebonanza customers without something in return, seek extra rm10, mothly, put another 24 months lock. Ive said previously, TM would rather you stay at current pricing and give you more value, this time more greedy, add rm10 and another 2 years. Thats why you see, there are various pricing among prebonanza customes for the exact same thing, not only they create difference between new bonanza customers and existing customers, they create discord among prebonanza customers too. For example, some unifi lite w/o free call paying rm129, top up rm10 get 30M, ultimate and free call. Unifi lite and vip 10 paying rm149 with free call, also REQUIREd to pay rm10 extra on top of what they are already paying for EXACT same thing. One of many examples happening in real life, you read it correctly, it is happening in real life. All for the sake of maintaining ARPU and overall revenue, all because of greediness, you see the madness today. This post has been edited by imalmighty: Sep 27 2018, 08:26 AM |

QUOTE(Isky @ Sep 27 2018, 07:14 AM) FYI, I just changed my VIP50 to the new RM129 100MB package, and I thought I'd share what I've learned so far. If you terminate, u risk losing your port by leaving blank window period in between, new subscriber may take up the port?1. I was told that I would need to create a new Unifi account and delete the old one (apparently, this was told to a lot of people as well). This is not true. In fact, TM prefers that you keep the old account and just change your plan. However, the problem is that TMPoint Ampang Pt, which used to be an official TM outlet, was recently changed to a dealership. However, as a normal person, I didn't see anything that made me think that outlet wasn't official, so I assumed everything the CS rep was saying was true. Dealerships are focused on sales, so they will push you to open a new account. In fact, the person I dealt with didn't even mention that I was able to keep my old account, other than to ask whether I wanted to keep my old phone number..... |

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 27 2018, 03:05 PM) Just came back from Menara TM again... No surprise tho, apologiss has to be mortgaged with action or some sort of compensation, lip service I can promise to pluck stars from the sky for you too. The excuse I suspect they come out with that in the nick of time, where u dont have enough evidence to hold them accountable. They apologised for the inconvenience caused to me. They suspected my name was missed out by Product team hence I didn't receive any call from them. Now they helped me to follow up again and I shall get a call by next Wednesday to inform when exactly I will get my Turbo speed. [Fast forward] So, my story hasn't ended yet... |

Without it, talk until upside down also useless, unless you're a high ranking status people that got backbones. If you know what I'm saying. I thought those days are over? Cronyism, nepotism favouritism should not be one of the bargaining powers i thought? If you're staying like Sierramas Sungai Buloh nearby Chua Soi Lek then easy 'gao tim' |
