TP-link Archer BE550 WiFi 7 tri-band is the price now at rm712 good to grab?

if only 1 unit, enough to cover an apartment unit of 882 sq ft?

Yes, cause AX88U is ASUS first generation WiFi 6 router

Even their newer WiFi 6 router is already better

I am using TP-Link AX50 for quite some time now at my house, I noticed few sudden drop of speed when download games through Steam, instead of constant speed. I did not encounter any of this problem at my university hostel where I can get constant download speed on Steam. What seemed to be the problem, the router or the ISP?

If your speedtest is fine, just downloading on Steam is slow

I think it's probably different ISP routing

Get a used router mesh, tp link will be your best option to hunt for. Since is a 100mbps unifi, then better get Wifi6 AX1800 rated.

How big is your house? 1.4ksqft? 3ksqft? Im staying in a double storey semi-d, 3 nodes altogether. Upper floor I have to use a cat5e backhaul to it. Set the router as AP, and enough to cover the upper floor 3 rooms.

Hey guys, I just switched to CelcomDigi fibre and given EX510 router, how good is it as compared to my old AX50? Should I switch to EX510 or remain with AX50? Much appreciated!

edit: Just found out that EX510 has mesh function and I also have a used AX10. Upon checking AX10, it does have EasyMesh function but it required a firmware update. The question now is, how do I update the firmware when it required my pppoe username and password to enable Internet access to update the firmware. Meaning that I need to temporarily switch over to AX10, setup the router and update the firmware then switch back to EX510? Please let me know if there is any other option to update the AX10 firmware.

you can connect your AX10 configured as Dynamic IP to the EX510 with ethernet cable temporarily to give it an internet connection to perform the update

otherwise, you can download the firmware update file from
https://www.tp-link.com/my/support/download...-ax10/#Firmware

and manually load it into the router from webui

Warning! please check the hardware version of your AX10 (v1, v1.2, v2) and select the correct one on the firmware download page to get the correct firmware for your revision

Thank you for your great help! However, I didn't manage to update the firmware as it may have been locked by the telco, even though logging in with superadmin account. I have read before that some forumers encountered this situation too, or the firmware update could have been regional based too.

Thanks for the tip. Place is 3k++ sqft bu detached

Went with a 3 pack WiFi 5 triple antenna mesh… fingers crossed it’ll work.

Ethernet back haul challenging. In any case don’t need high speed for rest of house. Can get min 30mbps enough already.

then Wifi5 will be the best cost effective for you at the moment, since your max speed is 100mbps, going for wifi6 is overkill then.

By the time your speed gets upgraded again by ISP, WiFi6 already dropped price. Wifi6 is overkill for 100mbps and below.

Go to tp link website and find the right firmware for your hardware version. And then login into the router page of AX10 through a LAN cable and perform a manual update through the system update. It will ask for the .bin file, select the AX10 latest firmware and it will automatically detect and install.

For EX510, is ISP locked, as that router was mainly made only for ISP to be provided to their clients. You need to request from your ISP for the update file if you want to update it.

And as per my memory, that ISP router device settings is locked, but can be set with TP Link Aginet app. you may try.

Hi all,
I'm currently on Maxis Fibre, using TM modem (as my incoming link is DSL) and Maxis wifi router (TPLink with usb backup dongle) .. I'm thinking of changing both into a single device (that allow DSL incoming and output wifi) .. any suggestion on what model i can look at?

alternative :
any modem that support the below:
1. incoming cable is DSL
2. wifi 5/wifi 6 support
3. maxis fibre connection support
4. usb sim dongle (as backup)

Thank you

For those using Deco M9 Plus

I just replace Deco BE65 V2 as main node.

Currently using Times 600Mbps package
Only M9 hitting around 200-400, but not very stable. Need standing beside router only manage get >500

On BE65, as long as connect to Main node (within 5m) easily max out 600 ~700Mbs
If switch to M9 node, getting around 200-250Mbps (5Ghz), 100+ (2.4Ghz)

It's time to upgrade. Deco M9 Plus is 2 gen behind.

IMO, I think Deco XE75 is at a very good price / performance ratio now.

will XE75 can deliver 1gbps over Wifi? I'm torn in between the two, also looking at BE65 hopefully at 11.11. Because im stranded on unifi 800 to be upgraded to 1gbps.

IMO if you have BE65 just get another BE65

With the right condition it should get you around 9xxMbps when connected to the 5GHz band
