Lenovo limits approved Wifi cards in the BIOS, you have to search for a whitelisted BIOS and flash it.
So cannot yea ?Home Networking WiFi Router Discussion Thread, Updated for 2023

Can I add mesh wifi to my existing network? Currently I have a wifi router, and would like to extend the coverage. From what I know so far, if I buy a mesh system, it will replace my router? Prefer not to replace it because it has more features such as VPN/DDNS/etc... I dont think most mesh system have this.

Hi, wanted to get some advices on whether to upgrade my router.
I’m currently subscribed to TIME 500mbps plan and using the stock router provided which is TP link ec230 (ac1350). For LAN cable, I can get 500mbps no problem at all, but for wifi speed, I only get around 150-200+ mbps even when standing next to the router. My plan is to maximise the speed I can get on wifi, I wonder if changing the router will bring great improvement on speed? I watched some reviews and the router I’m planning to get is TP link AX20 and is it worth to spend the money to get a new router? |

I am looking Asus RT-AX55.
Good enough for 500Mbps plan? Not much wifi6 device at home though, only s10+ and ip11 |

QUOTE(zalezale @ Jan 22 2021, 03:32 PM) If you don't feel confident to do it yourself, maybe you could ask on the Thinkpad forums here. I've never set foot in a PC shop for years and I don't have a very high opinion of their capabilities. One of my laptops is a X220, it was straightforward to flash a whitelisted BIOS, the X230 seems to be more involved. |
